In my experience, O'Daniel is like any other dealership with the amount of negotiation/back and forth with the "finance guy" and stereotypical language being used throughout the process. The difference to me, however, is that I didn't feel strong-armed into making a purchase, and there was a good deal of flexibility afforded for me to thoroughly consider the vehicles I looked at. My salesperson was John McKinney, who was very chill throughout the time working with me, which put me at ease for someone in my context. Bought a vehicle 7/13/2020. Next day I had TPS warning. Day after that AC started acting up and I specifically asked about the AC on test drive as it was ice cold. 3 days later had to have service to charge AC, next day it was out again. So in 1 week, I had to pay $1100 for new compressor that they obviously knew about and charged up to sell. I also had 2 O2 sensors out. O'Daniels told me to pond sand. No offer to help, take a look, work with me at all just pound sand. And dealerships wonder why everyone hates the car business! Hello, zero customer service! Stay away! O'Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram - Bill to fix AC & 02 sensors within 1 week of purchase! - Car Dealers Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

This place is an absolute joke in every way, shape, and form. I purchased a used vehicle in October of 2023. Within 3 days, I noticed it was shaking when driving over 60mph. I took it in and they said it was probably wheel balancing, so they rebalanced it. That didn't fix it. Then I had to bring it back in for a recall, and asked them to look again. They didn't. I took it in again for an oil change/alignment and asked them to specifically look for this issue, and possibly the CV Axles. I also mentioned my tires are balding prematurely due to whatever this issue is (I had new tires when I purchased the vehicle), which Greg agreed that they are balding. They said it was fine, and obviously that was not the case. I called again, they looked at it and decided to replace the CV axles. I paid a $200 deductible, took it back in to get them replaced, and it did not fix the issue. I took it back in and FINALLY they realized that the inner diameter of my wheel and the outer diameter of my axle had a significant gap, meaning all of the weight of my vehicle was resting on only the bolts on my wheel hub, and that my rims were manufactured out of round. Keep in mind, they sold me the vehicle this way after doing their 120-whatever multi-point inspection. I was told I would have to purchase new rims, to which I protested. After probably 5 conversations, they agreed to cover the cost of the rims. When asked about the tires, they told me they wouldn't help with that. Greg never asked anyone about it. Instead, after months of mentioning my tires were deteriorating at a rapid speed (I put less than 10k miles on brand new tires and they are in need of replacement at this point, I can see Lincoln's head), I finally get ahold of the one person who is worth a damn at this place, Sarah. She agreed to put my $200 deductible toward the cost of new tires, to which I agreed. They quoted me and were trying to charge me for an alignment as well, though my rims had just been replaced a month prior. I spoke with Tom, the new Service Manager, and told him that I have been mentioning for months that this issue is causing tire damage, nobody followed through with this concern, and he agreed to work with me on the cost of the alignment. I needed new tires before winter, considering if there's a light dew on the ground when I drive my tires slip, so I agreed and set up a time. When I went in to get my tires replaced, I also asked them to look at my headlight and quote me for a replacement, as my neighbor had backed into my car a few weeks ago. I asked them to only do this if there was no cost, as I did not want to pay them for a quote that any body shop would quote for free. They called, told me how much it would cost, and that they could do some extra investigating if the removed the fascia on my bumper, but that would cost over $300. So I declined. When I arrived to pick my vehicle up, I had a charge for $133 to look at my headlight. When I brought this to the attention of Greg and Tom, they shrugged it off as if they had gotten away with something. So essentially they found a way to charge me for the alignment anyways. At this point, I have been dealing with their BS for 12 months without a single positive interaction, terrible follow through, misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis, wasted time, taking time off of work, losing money, etc. I had to pay the $133 to get my vehicle back so I paid it. This entire service department is a joke. Not a single thing was done correctly through this entire process. It took at least 7 or 8 visits to get something completely fixed that had been a problem from day 1. Unless you have a coupon for free services here, do not go to this place. I wouldn't purchase a vehicle from them either, because they clearly don't perform basic inspections like making sure the rims fit on the damn vehicle. Nobody can be contacted. They should be ashamed of the way they perform business and treat their customers. It's like pulling teeth to get them to admit fault on anything and correct their wrongs. I want to give a big shout out to the sales team who went out of their way on a Saturday to help me out. They let me to bring my vehicle in to the service center despite it being closed and kept it inside due to a broken window. I was then escorted from the service center to the sales center to meet with John M. who is the one who took it upon himself to ask management about helping me in the first place. He gathered necessary information and personally drove me to Enterprise rental. Management also graciously offered to take my vehicle to a mechanic shop in New Haven on Monday. Service department is lack-luster. I've had my 2018 Grand Cherokee (with high altitude II package) for 9 months and my decrepit home-road popped a tire. My service advisor (who is great, and fortunately doesn't have much to do with this negative review) was out on 2/25 when I SHOWED UP to get tires ordered for replacement since my advisor's phone wasn't being answered nor did I receive a call back. That's okay, I don't know his schedule. ANYWAYS, ordered 1 tire on the basis that I've only had the vehicle for 9 months. Nobody bothered to measure tread to be sure 1 tire would be adequate since it is a 4x4 vehicle. 2/27: I show up to get the popped tire replaced (by appointment, my service advisor is now involved) only to be told that my tread is on its way out for the other 3 tires: Worn out just below an 1/8" compared to new tread and on its way to a 1/4". It was a fence call, but I bit the bullet and went ahead and had them order 3 more tires (I could've done just 1 more tire and replaced 2 total) and I drove on the spare for a couple more days. Why couldn't anyone tell me that Monday when I was in for the issue in the first place? They did mount and set the 1 tire and put it in my cargo hold where the spare goes (with the gunk still on the wheel from slipping the tire on. No biggie. It didn't make a mess in the hatch) I was told not to worry about an appointment, just show up Friday morning (3/1) and they'll get the deed done. 3/1: Made it to the service garage around 8:45a only to find out that my service advisor had to call-in due to a family instance. Things happen. All good. I let one of the other service advisors know who it is that I usually work with when I'm there, and why I was there without an appointment. This advisor straight up treated me like I was a walk-in and as-if I had never been to O'Daniel's service garage before.Took pictures of my vehicle (all four sides with the old generation iPad they use), let me know the pictures were for my protection (eye-roll, pictures aren't going to stop poor integrity from a tech), I let him know the mileage of my vehicle when he was looking at the VIN and the mileage on my receipt/exit paper is 3,000miles below what it should have read. My phone was called so they could ask me if the wheel and tire that was in the spare's hatch was to be put on as well.."yeah, duh", I thought; clearly I was ignored about who the service advisor is that I usually work with as they should've seen the order and work for the 1 tire from the previous Wednesday (2/27). They were also still only going to charge me for 3 tires after it was all said and done! Wow! What a deal! But honesty is the best policy and I let him know he should be charging me for 4 tires; I could go on about how this bloke was merely going through the motions of his job without much care. I was uneasy right from the start and babysat their service bay door and stood waiting for the work to be completed so I could go out and speak with the tech. I was out the door about 11:10a for 3 tires to be mounted and what do you know...3 wheels and tires are gunky and 1 is not. I was chomping at the bit to get out of there at this point, and was going to need to pick children up from school shortly thereafter. I checked the wheels out when I made it home and started cleaning the gunk off. All 3 wheels that had tires put on this day were damaged. The 1 wheel from 2/27 looked great! No wonder it was cleaned up now, and the other 3 were left dirty. The tech didn't bother to let anyone know he damaged the wheels he worked on. Why do I feel like a service guinea pig?! This is the 3rd new vehicle I've purchased in my lifetime (30 years old: '08 Avenger, '15 Chrysler 200, now my '18 Grand Cherokee) and I still have yet find a service garage at a dealership that will treat my vehicle with the care that I do. I should've received a call already this week about when I can bring my vehicle back for their wheel guy to see if he can refurb them. Bought a brand new Jeep gladiator. I am very happy with the vehicle. The only problem was I was promised things that were then backed out on. I was promised the stock tires since mine came with aftermarket and told they had a whole building filled with tires. When I came in to get the Jeep and do the paperwork the story completely changed and then I was told they don't have any. I strolled into O'Daniels (just to look) after work at 5:30, apparently they close at 6, I went in to look at the Jeep Patriot cause I was working with Glenbrook Jeep and we worked out a deal so I figured I would check the competition and see if the "deal" was actually a "deal", GLAD I DID, not to say the other dealership was completely ripping me off but O'Daniels was so courteous, easy to work with, friendly. They got me into a better car for less than the other dealership would have, I ended up going with a new Jeep Compass. I got more for my trade in here than I could have anywhere else. I was upfront with them about what I wanted and they were with me as well. They really focus on keeping you as a customer and not just ripping you off one time like man car dealerships. She is low pressure sales and won't try to sell you something just for the sake of a sale. Secondly, the service department is accommodating and friendly. Very disappointed with the service I received. My car was scheduled for an 8:00 AM appointment. I dropped the car off at 7:30. At 2:30 that same day I was informed that they had not even looked at my car and won't get around to it that day. Purchased a used vehicle from Greg Shediach on a weekend. Paid cash. Upon purchase there was an agreement to correct an apparent alignment issue with car pulling to the left. Because there was no service department present that day, the appointment had to take place at a later date. The scheduling for the appointment was no problem at all. Once my 16 year old daughter arrived at the appointment, she was being charged for the correction. The service department called Greg, he told them there was no problem at the time of sale (over speaker phone-my daughter heard him). My daughter had to call me in order to reconnect with Greg, at which time he told me they sell hundreds of cars and it's hard to remember everyone. When I spoke to him, "it's coming back to me now", was his response, and he claimed to be taking care of it. This is a clear attempt to take advantage of a teenager learning responsibility and taking care of her own car. It's unfortunate that Greg had no reason to help or connect with her to resolve the problem until I called as an adult to make things correct. Greg, I'm sorry that you sell hundreds of cars and can't recall your own words. I will be sure to recall this next time I need a vehicle in Fort Wayne. read more

Such a terribly disappointing experience with service. The communication from the service department was nearly nonexistent during the ten days or more they had my vehicle. They phoned me only once to tell me that they needed my ok for more testing which would incur additional cost... additional to what, I had to ask, since no explanation of any costs had been given to me up until that point. Tyler also told me during that call that they might not even find the problem under this additional cost level, which was of course disconcerting. During the remainder of the time my vehicle was there, I had to initiate all contact, I would let a couple days go by hoping to get word of progress but never did. My calls were usually redirected to voicemail, and when I did get through I was put on serial holds. After more than a week I was told that the wrong part had been installed and now they needed to wait for delivery of the proper part. When I delivered a letter of complaint to a service manager about this experience he phoned me three times in one day expressing apologies. When I went to pick up the vehicle, I was handed an invoice that stated "no charge" along with my keys; incredulous, I asked the cashier what this meant, she just said, "don't worry about it, just take your key and have a nice evening!" I was pleased to think that my one repair out of the dozens done there each day was done gratis for all my troubles. Wrong. After about two or three weeks had gone by, I got a call from O'Daniel telling me I had an outstanding bill of $1400+. Would you go back after having this kind of experience? Took our van for body work, and asked them to look at the brakes due to a noise they were making. We do maintain our car pretty well, and were expected that it needed minor brake work. To our extreme surprise, they told us that "it was metal on metal" on our rear brakes and that the rear rotors and other parts needed to be replaced. They told us that the work would be VERY expensive. This did not sound right to us. We took the car to a friend of ours who does car repairs, and he showed us that the rotors were still fine and that the rear brake pads were all that needed to be replaced. We allowed our friend to do the work at approximately 1/7 of what O'Daniel wanted to fix them, and the car's brakes are now great. Unfortunately, we also found some problems with the body repair work done by O'Daniel, so we have to take another long trip back to them for that. We really trusted O'Daniel, so this was all very disappointing. We had thought that we had a good relationship with them and their car salesmen, and we inferred from that relationship that we'd be treated well by them and their service department, especially when bringing our car to them for body work. We were surprised that we were treated so shabbily. read more

I just want to let everybody know that are looking at Chrysler Pacifica they don't come with a spare tire or a jack. Just a canister to seal your tire. But if you blow a tire Chrysler don't care if you are stranded out on the road or not. I know you have road side help but it takes them 2 hours to get to you sometimes. With a nice bill to come and help you. I didn't realized that it didn't have a spare tire or a jack until after I brought it, and they didn't tell me they didn't come with it. Well I called and told the person I brought it off of and he said he would get me one from another used when they get one in to sell. On July fourth I had a nail in my tire on the outside tread and they could not patch it. I only have 6000 miles on it. No body carries Yokohama tires. I had to order one on line and have it sent to me. Mean while my Pacifica sent in my garage for 3 days until It got to me and I could get it put on. Every place I called said they would have to order it also for 240. 00 dollars I had to pump it up to get it where I could get it put on. Well I have been waiting now for 1 year and my sales person still has not got me a spare tire and jack. Now He won't even return my calls they just go to voice mail. I bought a 2014 Ford Flex from them recently. Almost everything is ok with the car, but the windshield washer doesn't work. I contacted them, and they said it worked when I bought it ( NOT true), but they'd repair it (at cost, which could be whatever) if I brought it in. I'm located 3 hours round trip away, so that's not much help. I asked about the "3 month/3000 mile" warranty they gave, thinking I might go ahead and burn a vacation day if they'd cover the repair charge but THIS conveniently isn't covered. They're now not replying to emails or phone calls. So I guess I'm paying for repair out of my own pocket. read more

I purchased a 2013 Acura ILX from Mark Butler at O'Daniel Automotive on November 19, 2016. While test driving the car I noticed a vibration in the steering wheel and I mentioned this to Mark. He reassured me they inspected the car and there is nothing wrong with it. When I got out of the car after the test drive I noticed that the back left rim was bent a little. I also mentioned this to Mark and he started selling me on there 3 month 3000 mile warranty and the clean car fax report. He told me that buying this car was worry free because it has a clean car fax report, they did a 50 point inspection, and with the 3 month warranty I could even return the car at anytime during the 3 months and get my money back. While driving this car since the purchase date, I continued to noticed the vibration in while driving and I also noticed that if you hit a bump while driving the car it would bounce weird like it might loose control. On February 3rd I took the car to Hubler Acura, in Indianapolis to get the vibration and the weird bounce diagnosed. This cost me $95 plus tax but I wanted an inspection from an Acura dealer since I was sold this car by a non Acura dealer in Ft Wayne. Hubler Acura informed me that the car has 4 bent rims, a bent right rear control arm. Hubler Acura also suggested to me that they thought the car had been in an accident as it had aftermarket parts on it that suggested to them that the car had been in an accident. I told them I just bought this car and that O'Daniel Automotive and Mark Butler had presented me with the clean Carfax report, and there inspection report and were presenting this car as a clean problem free car. On February 5th I reached out to Mark Butler at O'Daniel Automitive and sent him a copy of Hubler Acura's findings. I asked Mark if his dealership would be able to do anything to help with the repairs and asked how the car could have been in an accident if they were selling a clean car fax and inspection. Mark told me at this point to get him a parts order and he would go to the manager to see what they could do. I sent the repair quote from Hubler Acura and Mark emailed me and said that he spoke to his manager and that since I've owned my car for 3 months (which is not accurate) they will not help with the repairs. After I received this I copied my sales slip and their warranty info which was given to me when they purchased the car and I proved them that I haven't owned the vehicle for 3 months until February 19th. I first notified them of the 2 problems (4 bent rims and bent right rear control arm) which should be covered under the 3 month/3000 mile warranty on February 5th which is 14 days prior to the 3 month ownership deadline. The car is also under the 3000 mile limit. This means these repairs should be covered under their warranty. I will gladly drive up to their dealership so that they can replace the bent right rear control arm and repair the bent rims. Also looking at the inspection report which was done in July it shows that there was repairs done to the right rear which leads me to believe the bent right rear control arm was already an issue and the inspector just missed it or they didn't want to pay for the repair so they ignored the problem and sold it with a bent right rear control arm. It's also possible that between the time the inspection was done and November 19th when they sold me the car that the rims and right rear control arm were bent when an employee was driving the car or it was being test driven. How long is an inspection report good for? When I bought the car the inspection report was 11 days shy of being 4 months old. Today I spoke with Aaron Warner the sales manager and he told me that he would not honor their warranty that they used as a selling point. I asked him if he would rather have bad publicity rather than repair an issue that should be covered under their warranty. Since my review keeps getting bumped down, I will keep posting a new one to let people know what they are getting. Odaniel Chrysler is a terrible place to do business with. Do not let them fool you, they don't fix used cars that they get in on trade. They try to pass them off because their certified warranty only covers drivetrain. Ive purchased 2 vehicles from them. The first one I had to put 3,000 dollars into within 3 months of buying it. I chaulked the first one up to bad luck and gave them another chance. The second one they sold to me was a certified one they sold me with 2 bent wheels that was not visible unless it was on a lift and you looked at the inside of the rims and they fought me tooth and nail to fix it. It caused a shake in the car when doing more than 55 miles per hour and of course, the sales reps suggested route did not include speeds that high. So there was no way to know until after the purchase. They put prices 1,000 dollars above book value and claim that it is because of the quality they provide in each vehicle.
