Friendly staff. Smooth process from beginning to end. They took the extra time to find me the best finance rate for my credit score.

I found the truck I liked on a google search and one of the choices was Preferred Auto. Their truck was my second choice but stopped there first to check on one unit. Toyota Tundra pickup truck. Alex met us outside, but I was ready for his used car lot tactics. He was super nice, but I knew he was up to something. I told him I want to take the truck for a drive and he immediately agreed? Let me grab a plate... Ok, this guy was up to something. Heh heh, can't fool this old timer. We took the truck for a couple of hours, ran it by my mechanic. Advice from mechanic: Great truck, good price, go for it. Back to the lot... Alex met us and Jake the sales manager and then, holy shit, Jay the owner pops in! He's the dude you see on The Preferred Auto TV commercials. It was funny. Jake is his son. I made my offer, they counter offered with a vey fair price and we all shook hands. As it turned out also, my wife Lisa, knew Jay from high school, so that added another hour of shooting the breeze. I know this is my longest review. The buying experience at this car lot was so honest and upfront just super impressed me. Alex was great and thoughtful. Trust me, this is a great group of people selling cars! Plus you get free car washes for life! Good guys, go see 'em. Thank you Alex, we love the truck. Mike :)

I purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid on Saturday, 10/28 after having a FANTASTIC sales experience…read more I first looked at the car on Tuesday 10/24 with my Dad and had to work back and forth with Dylan regarding financing over the course of the week due to some credit issues I ran into. He was very patient and helped me through the whole process and eventually got me approved with a co-signer. We finalized the paperwork on Saturday and I drove off. On Sunday, 10/29 my check engine light came on. I had the code read by AutoZone indicating the EVAP valve/canister was bad. I was obviously not thrilled as I had had the car in my possession for 24 hours at that point. I did purchase the vehicle used, as-is and with no warranty, however I felt that given the terrible timing of the situation and the (likely) minor cost to repair it, that Best Deal would take care of me. I called on Monday, 10/30 to discuss with Dylan. I was told at first that situations like these were why they push the warrantee so hard. I agreed with him and confirmed that I understood but having a problem within 1 day of owning the car was ridiculous. They agreed to perform the diagnosis for free, but that I would need to pay for the repair. Very fair, however I got a new car to try and not have issues with it for a while, considering my previous vehicle was quite literally falling apart and in need of multiple repairs. After scheduling the appointment with the service center, I called back and spoke with another gentleman as I found out that the warrantee could be cancelled after 3 months if desired, which I was not informed of at the time of purchase. Had I known that, I would have purchased it with the warrantee to protect myself for at least the first 90 days. They have very kindly agreed to allow me to re-sign the paperwork with the warrantee included and take care of this repair for me. THIS is how to do business. I could not be more appreciative and to me, this demonstrates their integrity and willingness to make a customer happy. I am due to take the car in tomorrow and get the paperwork re-signed, at this time I have the utmost confidence that they will honor their agreement with me. Please give Best Deal a look if you are looking for a used car - but word to the wise - go ahead and get the warrantee!

I checked underneath for leaks and no leaks. Well, a few days after I bought the vehicle, I noticed oil on the ground. I took it to my mechanic, and he said there are 3 leaks and the cost would be over $1600. He said that someone knew about the leaks because there was a dye on the engine that is used to find leaks. He said they probably could not or did not want to find the leak and let it go. I am not saying it was the dealer, all I am saying is to be aware. My mechanic said that it is possible that whoever knew about this, "rigged" it so it would be okay for a short time and then the problem would show. Unfortunately, I feel like I got screwed on this deal. Beware, is all I have to say.

Beware Hidden Fees…read more We just bought a car with an $808 scam fee. They count on the fact that you won't notice and call it a "transfer fee" to make it soudn innocuous. Really it is this common window etching thing dealers try to upsell you on as shown here [1]. Something that costs them $20 probably but they charge you $800+ for. My wife didn't notice it when she called and completed the sale as they just mention it in a list of "tax, title, and transfer fees". This is extra sneaky as there are real title transfer fees that are quite cheap. So if you don't do the math on the fly and realize this is twice as much as the taxes, and most people wouldn't, then you are SOL. They already did it. They say they can't add this to the price on CarGurus, and that is only partially true. You can't add optional fees for services dealers try to upsell. The trick is this isn't optional. They do it already and bake it into the car prices knowing you have to pay it. So it is just a way to advertise a lower price, where as another dealer who gives you an option is not able to lower the cost enough to show such a low price. In the end the price is isn't terrible, but it isn't honest. I won't do business there again and recommend others avoid it. https://www.aarp.org/money/scams-fraud/car-buyers-beware-sneaky-costs/

We worked with Sammy (Son) he did a thorough 10 point inspection on our needs and wants, helping us finally pump the brakes on a used Suburban XLT with high miles and loaded to the brim - being perfect for our family of 5 who are always on the GO! After the final negotiations and agreed upon purchase amount we took the big boy home.... We sadly had some performance issues that were unfavorable for a family vehicle and our finances. Long drive short - Mike Trump (GM), Sammy (Dad), Sammy (Son) Matt (SM), listened to our circumstances and unfortunate experience with our new purchase. They jumped in and were the best backseat drivers we could have had along for the ride. We had to come out of pocket and knew it was inevitable with a used high mile vehicle but the team lessened the blow and put a ton of effort into our situation and at the same time made life long buyers and advocates for Bob Thomas...!!! I was told I had 30 days through Bart's & also purchased the extended warranty for 2200 dollars! I called them the next day & had it towed back there. I had to pay the tow bill! My car sat there for 9 days without any answers. I called every day! I left voicemails for the service department with no return call. Day 9 the salesman called me & said "we think it's the transmission control module & we can't get that part it is on back order nationwide. We are sorry, we really tried to help you. You will have to take it to your mechanic!" 3 days later I was able to get it towed again with another tow bill I had to pay. My mechanic found the starter was not firing so he replaced the starter, & it would not start! With further observation, my mechanic found that the motor locked up & burnt up the starter! My mechanic called Barts & he was told I bought the extended warranty & I would have to call them! So I filed a claim. They sent out an adjuster & found that there were metal shavings in the oil pan & filter. The oil on the filter was like gum & the oil filter was rock hard! I was told this vehicle was fully serviced when I bought it! That proved to be untrue. The adjuster & my mechanic estimated that the oil hadn't been changed in over 20k miles due to the way the oil filter looked. So now the warranty company is voiding my warranty that I paid 2200 dollars for & will not cover the motor! My mechanic was informed that Barts was going to come get the vehicle! I called them & talked to the salesman because the manager wouldn't talk to me. I was supposed to get a call back & have not received one! I gave them 22k dollars for a vehicle I drove 4 days & they fraudulently sold me a warranty that is now voided & they will do absolutely nothing! I also talked to the manager at the Fort Wayne store named Adam & was told that all vehicles are serviced before they are sold & that maybe the salesman's didn't know that this one wasn't serviced when he sold it! So you sell me a vehicle that was not serviced & lie to me & now I'm responsible for 10k in repairs! No offer of help, no vehicle to drive, nothing! I am now on day 21 with no vehicle & out a 1k dollar down payment along with a car payment & motor repairs!
