Our day trip to Weston had to include a stop at O'Malley's Pub and it did not disappoint. Being underground is very cool and there is wifi so no worries! Live music was a big hit with 90s alternative covers. Drinks were nice and cold and not over priced. The only reason they did not get a 5 star was the pretzel was more like bread than a legit pretzel. Service is go to the bar for drinks and order food from your phone. I did peak on the interest before we came here to see my cousins band. IT IS SO COOL. The oldest bar in the state of Missouri started as an ice locker, which explains the entry, steps and steep decline and the cave like feeling. We live in STL, if I was any closer, I'd make this a regular spot. Bathrooms were clean, service was friendly and they do accept credit cards, I was a tiny bit worried upon entrance. There is also a patio outside for smoking. We didn't try any of the food items, but they seem to have a full bar menu. Your cell phone will not work once you get down there, they do offer wifi, I couldn't get my phone to work, so we ordered the old fashioned way, with our voices. read more

A hidden gem! The underground bar is such a cool surprise and what a cool environment to enjoy some beers in. The giant pretzel seriously blew my mind - if you remotely like soft pretzels then you haveeee to try this one. The other food was tasty but the soft pretzel just completely stole the show. A very interesting place, it is very maze-like and labyrinthine underground. They have two dining areas, they call cellars, as well as bars that serve each of them. You can order food through the QR codes on the tables, and they have wifi to use, since there is almost no cell service underground. Many steep passages and stairs, as well as a dark intimate tavern atmosphere. They offer some delicious Irish cuisine there, and I must say the Beef and Stout with Potatoes was incredible. Such a good flavor and consistency throughout, and the potatoes were great. I wish there was maybe some salt and pepper available to use, and maybe ketchup. The service is not like a regular sit-down restaurant. There are runners who bring food to the table, but they don't provide any other service than that, they do not answer any questions and don't seem to know much more than that part of their job. The bartenders are a bit more helpful and friendly. There was a nice man at the door who observed and greeted everybody coming in. But it seems to be many young folks working there, maybe it is a family business. At least the food coming out after our order was quite fast and timely. They do have nice restrooms up on the main entry level with cool frosted glass on the wood doors. I liked the real solid wood finishes on everything in this place, it gave a historic and luxurious feel. I would definitely love to go back and eat the same meal I had. I also enjoyed the cheese curds with ranch, and my friends enjoyed the fried pickles, as well as their shepard's pies. read more

Very "cool"place! There's no internet connection due to it being underground but they do have wifi access so you can scan the QR code for the menu and order food from your phone. Previously had their Bangers and Mash, decided on the fish and chips this time. Great fillets of fish (almost as delicious as walleye) only 2 but they're fillet-ing (strong is the tummy force with them). Chips are good as well (aka fries) and the dipping tartar sauce has a little kick to it. Ketchup, mustard, and malt vinegar are at the table (outside at least) for fries etc. They also have a good selection of beer and are right next door/adjacent to the cave bar that's like 40 or so feet underground. One word of caution, it's pretty dark, and the stairs be a bit steep so if you're several pints in, beware of the climb back to the sun or moon shining in your eyes! read more

Ok this would get 5 stars if it wasn't so insanely hot in the restaurant every time I've been. Being that hot kind of kills your appetite - However - the food and selection is incredible here. We came out with friends and split 3 appetizers - all of which were very tasty. We got the Irish fries, the pretzel with beer cheese and the Irish egg rolls. We were all debating on which one was the best because they were all delicious. Fish and chips were ordered among 3 people and all were raving about how spectacular and hot they were. I got the kids chicken tenders and fries and didn't make it through a whole bunch bc of the heat inside the place. Turn the AC or open a window! The lower cave is always a band that rotates often and the upper area is a more Irish experience, both are great. We ordered beers and food. The food was exactly what you need after a few drinks. I ate here with my girlfriend yesterday. We had lunch. The service was great. The food was really good. I got the corned beef sandwich and sometimes you get these and they're very chewy. This was very tender. My girlfriend got pasta, and the portions were generous. We had a great time and would definitely return. Prices were average. Stopped in here on a random weekday so no band that night. The people were super friendly and the food was fairly good as well. The bar area does not have the full menu and the restaurant was kinda toasty and I didn't wanna sweat while I ate. The corridor down to the pub was dripping from the ceiling and it smelled unpleasant. You do get used to it. Very very musty smell down there. They had the other two sections of the bar blocked off, so that was disappointing. The smell and such is all part of the experience and we had a good time overall. Stopped in for lunch during a visit to Weston, a really neat, little town. We did not go down into the cellar area, having been there a few years ago for some beers. You really need to go in and look at this bar - I believe that it was originally a lagering area in the past. We chose to eat "upstairs" under one of many available umbrellas. Good bar food - Atlantic Salmon, Ribeye, One of Each Bangers and Mash, Kids Grilled Cheese and Beef and Stout. Good beers as well. I had the best weekend up in Weston visiting this underground cave bar! They have a really cool setup with the Nextdoor bar and grill so you can order food down in the cave and have it delivered to your table using a barcode! We ended up trying some local ciders that included the blueberry and peach, as well as the house cream ale. EVERYTHING was delicious including the food! I honestly can't wait to go back and try more. This place has been on my bucket list for at least 3 years. We spent a day in Weston and finally came here! This is a place that has to be on everyone's list. The whole set up of the place being on different floors is awesome and the deeper you go the cooler it gets. It is not your average Irish Pub. We sat really close to the stage to listen to live music and it wasn't too loud. We had a great time singing along with the guitarist performing. The only reason I am not giving this place a 5 star rating is the food. I think overall people are going for the drinks and live music but the food was pretty bad. I never mind a small menu but the menu is small. We ordered the chicken nachos and they were not good. There was nothing on them but the cheese and chicken. The chicken tasted like it was canned chicken. I was hoping for something more similar to other pubs we have been to. Overall, this place is a must visit when in the area for good drinks and music but I would suggest eating before you get there and use your money towards tipping the performers and your drink tab. read more

What is there not the love about O'Malley's??? This is one of those places that you just HAVE to visit. The three separate floors for music and drinks is one of a kind. It's so fun to venture deeper and deeper underground for one of the more authentic experiences you could have, not only at an Irish pub, but anywhere! The staff is nice, the performers are always great, and of course the drink selection is wonderful. They really know what they're doing here! Only qualm is with the food. It's not anything to write home about, but to be fair, I'm not a huge fan of pub food. I'd say it's less flavorful than some pub items I've had, but the food is just not why I visit O'Malley's. If you're looking for a great time with drinks and friends and live music, this is your place. If you're looking for an outstanding meal, not as much. I don't know how busy it normally gets, although one of my friends said it's great when there's live music, but I generally prefer an almost empty (quieter) bar. I'm not much of an alcohol drinker, but I found my favorite drink to date here. I tried the Croagh climber-- Irish cream and coffee topped with whipped cream ($6). However, I asked for hot chocolate instead of coffee. It was amazing. I'm sure it'd be good with coffee as well, but I'm forever going to spike my hot chocolate when I get the chance. Not a fan. Went for a date night. I had never been but bf had. There are 4 levels to this pub. You walk into the main level that has the bathrooms and a set of stairs to go down to the 2nd level. 2nd level has a tunnel to the right to or a ramp to the left that goes down to the 3rd level: the tunnel leads to a dinning area (about 8 tables) with a stage and towards the back through a doorway has a bar. If you go down the ramp (be careful it is steep), you'll turn to the right and go down half a flight of stairs this is the 3rd level. There are 6 tables with 6 chairs. There are extra chairs back in the corner. There is also another set of stairs that lead you to the 4th level. The 4th level contains a bigger stage, a balcony that overlooks the stage, a bar, and approximately 8 booths. We decided to come here as Bob Reeder was said to be playing there according to the website. This was not the case, it was a young lady performing on the 4th level and a young man playing on the 2nd. We were not greeted coming in and found our own place to sit which I guess is the way to do it. The 4th level was packed so we sat on the 3rd level. On the table was a plaque that was screwed to the table with a QR code, which gave directions to connect to the wifi in order to place a food order. Ordered cheese curds and a Rueben with fries. I'm sure if I would have been drunk the food would have been good, but then again maybe not. The food was brought to our table in Togo containers and a plastic bag. In order to get drinks we had to go to the 4th level or to the 2nd level to order drinks at the bar then bring them back to our table. So essentially there was no table service. We watched as people came and went. Once a group left you would except that an employee would come and bust the table for the next group... nope. When another group came, they had to bust their own table. The building itself was really cool and neat to see. The bartender on the second level was super nice. But the experience in totality was horrid. If I'm going to go out on a Saturday night, and spend money at Pub, I would expect to have some table side service. read more

I wish I had ordered fries with a side of onion rings (they looked pretty goods, too). As for the beer. Well, our 8 samples produced a couple of winners and a couple we just couldn't drink.
