I told them I didn't need my vision checked (I have 20:20 after Lasik), I was having problems. After a few minutes and am insurance check, they were able to modify the paperwork and move forward. I was worried that I may not get answers since they had scheduled my appointment incorrectly but it went very well. I walked away knowing what was wrong and ways to improve it. But go ahead, ask your question." As if I was offending him by having concerns. As if by asking questions I was somehow challenging his expertise, rather than acknowledging it. As if this wasn't exactly the right time and place to ask questions. A bit shocked by his dismissive comment, i initially thought I should simply leave and find a different doctor. Then I thought about the weeks I had to wait just to get this appointment, and starting that process all over again, and I swallowed my pride and simply responded, "No, never-mind." But I also knew then that I would eventually write a review in which I told prospective patients this story, in case anyone preferred not to be disregarded in this way. To be fair, I am pleased with the results of my surgery. I had researched Dr Patel and never doubted his skills. But I was offended by his manner at that initial consult and believe that patients deserve to be treated better.

Not sure if that's typical, but it was very helpful to me as I didn't want to wait an entire month to be seen for eye pain. My visit was short, to the point, and very enjoyable (or as enjoyable as a trip to the doctor can be!) The staff was incredibly friendly, the waiting room was quiet and clean. They even had a walled-off children's area for my 2.5 year old to play in (a lifesaver!) The doctor was so very nice and made great conversation, and I felt entirely comfortable throughout the exam. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Overall, a great experience and I will definitely keep them as my eye doctor while we are stationed in this area for the next 2 years.

People from all walks of life are referred to the Retina Center for various reasons. For me it was a routine eye examination that alerted the doctor of a potential concern. I have come here for a year now, received expert care...the offices are comfortable and relaxing, the front desk staff are pleasant...but the magic doesn't happen out there, it happens under the expertise of Dr. Todd Schneiderman and his assistants. Meaning, when i called to make the appointment: i was "screened" to make sure i wasn't wasting my money. Day of appointment, empty waiting room, minimal wait time. I traversed through a 3 rooms (stations), 2 for assessments. First room : medical history, glaucoma test, eye dial action, and eye chart reading. Second room: my retina was images on 2 different machines. Third room - Dr O'Malley provided assessment. He has a thorough and sequential (apparent) first visit routine. Stepping through some basic eye physiology as a basis for explains the images and results. i'm normally a guy who likes to skip through the introduction and jump right to the end, but this tune i but my tongue and listened and went along for the ride. I'm glad i did. It's obvious Dr O'Malley read my induct form, and in a honest, direct and plain spoken manner, addressed things he saw - effects of genetics and efficacy of vitamins. In parting, he said i didn't need to see a specialist (like him) for a follow up in a couple of years. Meaning. he focused on the level of care i needed, not generating more patients (and money) for his practice. I went to a gucci (say Ferrari for car buffs like me) Doctor, so i could create a baseline to track any changes, so my next appointment is in 2 years.

The care quality is great. The surgery was painless. Staff checked my eyes at every stage before and after surgery. I only met Dr. Psolka for a minute but he did a good job since my new lenses work well. Dr. Tok, who does the post-surgery checks, is warm and reassuring while also being thorough and competent. I highly recommend this office in Sequim.
