Good service, very pleased how steak was cooked! Very polite. Blew me away how good everything I didn't know what to expect, never ate poke before I just happened to be shopping at Ollie and decided to try this place out since I was starving. Highly recommend and will be back! They cook food good

Good solid place, Next to the movies which is a plus…read more Get very crowded at times.,.....................

Unless Dj is working do not even bother going…read more Everytime my boyfriend and I go we typically spend $150-200+ and every single time without fail we always get the worst service ever. Tonight we got there around 8:15-8:30 (we got seated outside) and got forgotten for 15 minutes, no greeting no drinks (mind you it was not busy). Finally a server came, we ordered drinks/appetizers. when the appetizers came out we realized we didn't have sauces on the table. When we asked for them we got responded with "oh like you want them togo" which we politely responded "no we would like the sauces for our appetizers and when we get our food". We finally get our food only to realize one my boyfriend's ramen is incorrect and that he is missing an add on egg. We didn't see our server for a while so we asked another server to go get ours. We are also pretty easy going people and I am in the service industry so I understand how it is but tell me why one of the workers are slinging outside chairs (loudly) around and sweeping at 9:15 while there are three other tables enjoying their food? To top it all my boyfriend paid the bill and didn't receive his card back. Instead we received someone else's paid ticket from a different table and still no card. Again could not find our server so we asked another server to go find ours. While in the midst of trying to get our server another one of the workers asked what was wrong with the bill, which we tried to explain that the bill we received back was not our bill and that we are missing a card. She still didn't understand and said "what is the bill too expensive?" (Which is funny because the already paid bill of SOMEONE ELSES was way cheaper than ours.). After finding our waiter we finally got his card back. Not to mention another time we went we got charged $56 for two dragon drinks when it was supposed to be around $36. And another time where we showed up an hour and a half before they closed...waited 30 minutes to be seated on a slow night...took 15 minutes for drinks..another 20 for food and rushed out by turning the lights on and cutting the music off. Another time by a different server reaching over my boyfriend to collect the sauces that we were still using. I mean the list goes on It is such a shame because we genuinely love the food there but after going there so many times and stuff like this happens why waste your money? Definitely our last time coming unless they change.

We went to Salt & Light for Sushi immediately after landing in Gonzales because we were starving,…read moreand it turned into one of the best date nights we've had in a long time. We met the owner, Shelly, who is originally from China, and she was incredibly warm and welcoming. What really surprised us was that they served us fresh wasabi instead of the usual paste -- I've never had that before, and it was amazing. Once you try it fresh, you can never go back. Our server, Dashay, was fantastic -- kind, attentive, and just such a lovely young woman. We started with hot sake and Kirin draft beer, then ordered a spicy tuna roll and a hamachi (yellowtail and scallion) roll, both of which were excellent. We also had tempura -- the batter was a little thick for my personal taste, but the sauces were so good that it still hit the spot. My favorite dish was the ama ebi (sweet shrimp), especially because they bring out the fried shrimp head, which was crispy and delicious. The sushi was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully balanced. Between the amazing food and the genuine hospitality, we had such a wonderful evening. I can absolutely see why this is Parker's favorite sushi spot in Gonzales. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back.

My Daughter and I stopped for lunch. Not much ambiance…read more Our server was nice. She tried. Unfortunately our food left a lot to be desired. We ordered the vegetable spring rolls they had very little filling, had an odd flavor from the oil, but were very crispy. I ordered the hibachi lunch. My daughter ordered General Taos chicken. The portions were large. The fried rice had hard dried out pieces of rice, I guess it had sat open somewhere and dried out. the menu said my chicken would have a teriyaki sauce, not teriyaki, some not good sauce which was so salty I couldn't eat it. The raw chicken had not been covered I am guessing, because it had a 'skin' on it? I could not eat it. My lunch came with a choice of salad or clear soup. I chose the salad, was very crispy but it had almost an 1/2 inch of water in the bottom of the bowl. My daughter said her clear soup was excellent. Her General Taos chicken had an old freezer taste she said . We were totally unable to eat the entrees. So sad. We had hoped that this would be our go to place for Chinese food.
