The sushi rolls are a bit on the small side but I find that typical for most places that offer all you can eat menu service. For the price of the AYCE, you can't beat it. I started off with a house salad with the ginger dressing which is fresh and light. The nigiri is nice and the rolls tasty. The hibachi came out hot and delicious with a good enough portion where you won't get too full and feel bad because you couldn't finish it because you wanted more sushi like I did. I ate a little bit more and left feeling very satisfied but not uncomfortably full. Service was excellent and very attentive. Everything came out in a timely fashion except for the hibachi which I assume was because it's made to order like everything else. My server, Jasmine, was really great. My husband and I decided to try Ohayo Sushi for lunch on a Monday. We're big fans of AYCE sushi restaurants and we were excited to have one closer to home. Despite being fairly busy, the service was excellent, and our orders arrived surprisingly fast! The menu had plenty of dishes to choose from. So happy to have another AYCE sushi place in the Baton Rouge area! The restaurant is super spacious with various seatings (booths / tables). I went for the AYCE dinner for $29.95. Service is ok, they just opened so I know there's trial and error and a lot to learn from. Food came out fairly quickly for dinner time! We really enjoyed the appetizers and the sashimi tasted so fresh!! Special sushi rolls were pretty good for an ayce type restaurant - you get what you pay for type of quality. I went to Ohayo on 2/8/2026 for what was supposed to be a relaxing solo sushi date. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I've had in a long time. My server, Nikki, was pleasant enough, but that's where the positives end. Mid-meal, I discovered a long (at least 6 inches), black hair buried in my chicken fried rice. Not on the plate -- in the food. The moment I saw it, my appetite was completely gone. I notified Nikki, who apologized and offered to have the dish remade. I declined because, quite frankly, once you find hair in your food, especially one that long, there's no "redo" that fixes the disgust. What was even more disappointing was the lack of accountability from management. No manager came over to apologize. No offer to comp the meal. No acknowledgment beyond a quick apology. Nothing. That response (or lack thereof) spoke volumes about the establishment's standards and overall food quality. Adding to the concern, I noticed that while servers had their hair properly tied back, kitchen staff did not. One woman in the back had extremely long black hair hanging down her back -- completely unsecured. It doesn't take a leap of imagination to connect the dots. The atmosphere was also uncomfortable. It was obvious the staff didn't enjoy working there -- or with each other. I witnessed multiple instances of employees passing each other with visible tension and dirty looks, zero pleasantries exchanged. It created a bizarre, uneasy vibe throughout the restaurant. Between the hair in my food, the lack of management response, questionable kitchen hygiene, and the overall negative energy, this was an experience I won't be repeating. Wanted to like this place, but the service we have gotten is Kitchen Nightmares level bad. The first time our waiter had one of his friends at a table by us and completely ignored us for most of the meal. We had to ask for our drinks at least 5 times. Orders were wrong. Miso soup was the last thing to come out. We didn't get refills. Couldn't put in orders because he was too busy talking to his high school looking friend. Mind you the food we got was was a mixed bag of good to terrible. The spicy tuna here is to be avoided. Nasty stuff We decided to give them another chance for lunch after some months. The first time we went we assumed it would get better because it was still a new-ish restaurant. Things were arguably worse this time. For starters, someone at our table tried to get a regular menu as they did not want ayce, which for some reason our waitress couldn't understand. We ended up having to find the menu online. Once we ordered though, it started off fine. We got some of our kitchen appetizers and nigiri in a decent amount of time. This is where it went down bigly. Looking at my Tuna nigiri, the flesh appeared torn up on one of the pieces. Clear sign that either the fish wasn't high quality or the chef did a poor job cutting it. I thought it was ok, don't expect the highest quality from ayce, but when I took a bite my nigiri had some hard rice. I have virtually never had sushi where the rice wasn't at least soft. Straight up unacceptable. Someone at our table had hibachi salmon, which came out as literally a coin sized piece of salmon that was around a quarter of an inch thick. It was comical. Someone at our table ordered edamame, of course it came with no salt on it. Then came the wait. Our waitress dissapeared for around 40 minutes. We had ordered 6 sushi rolls. 3 of the rolls came out at this point. The rolls were ok, but our other 3 rolls did not come. Our waitress came back 20 minutes later and asked if we needed anything else. Yes, the rest of our sushi. She disappeared for another 20 minutes. When she got back she asked if we need anything again. Again, the sushi we ordered. She then proceeded to show me her tablet and said she put the order in and just doesn't know what's going on, and implied that we should cancel the rest of it because it had been so long. I said we want our food, Ihad only had a few pieces of nigiri and 1 sushi roll at this point. She said she put in the order again and I had to ask her to please make sure it comes out quickly. We ended up getting that order in a reasonable amount of time. Mind you through this 2 hour ordeal, our person who ordered something off the menu ate within the first 20 minutes of the meal and had to sit with us for the rest of the 2 hours waiting on our horrid service. We also never got the chop stick cheaters we asked for at the beginning of the meal. Never got the full menu we asked for at the beginning of the meal. Did not get asked if we needed refills once in 2 hours. The tables around us were clearly having a similar experience. One of them was even still getting food brought out to it while they were actively leaving. It was bad enough that I would question things outside of the service, such as the conditions of the kitchen and food storage. The staff still seems untrained after months. Whoever is managing this place does not seem like they know what they are doing, and as such I would maybe feel unsafe eating food from here again. Gave them a chance to redeem themselves but this one is a big avoid for me. read more

This place gets a 1 star from me, mostly due to service but the food as well. I'll start with the good. The couple of times I've been, we were seated immediately and did not have to wait. The chairs are comfy and the atmosphere is bustling. It's neither overly-loud or eerily quiet; a great place for families to dine. The kitchen staff/runners also do their jobs seemingly well. The bad. The service is so bad. I hoped it would improve but it hasn't, and I don't know if I'm willing to give it another chance. On two separate occasions we've had horrible service from our waiters (2 different people). Our orders weren't put in/missing. We never got utensils we asked for. At one point we had to stand-up and wave our server down after being ignored for 30+ minutes. The food is nothing to write home about. It's certainly not anything worth putting up with that type of service. There's far better sushi in the area and definitely better AYCE places. There could also be a few more rolls on the AYCE list. The bottom line is something drastic needs to change - specifically when it comes to the wait staff. I don't need my waiter showing me their tablet as proof that orders were put in. I shouldn't have to ration my drink because I don't know when they'll return to my area, much less my table. Please train your staff and/or hire some people with experience in the service industry. read more

There are a few negative reviews about 5 months ago that mention service and I agree but since then I noticed the effort to having trained and professional servers. I've driven by a few times and saw this restaurant and have been wanting to try it. My daughter and I decided to come in on a Sunday night. We chose the all-you-can-eat menu option. There are so many choices. Every dish that we ordered was fresh and delicious. This restaurant is a similar concept to Sushi Masa, but the food at Ohayo is 1000 times better and not comparable whatsoever. The dishes came fast and the staff was friendly and kind. Our server, Aubrey, went above and beyond because my daughter was feeling sick. She was very thoughtful and attentive and I could tell she genuinely cares about people. The wine list is also excellent. The four seasons tower was delicious as were the rolls and hibachi. We will be back for sure. read more

My husband and I visited Ohayo this afternoon for lunch. Upon arriving we were seated very quickly and enjoyed the beautiful Japanese cherry blossom decor on the way to our table. There were only about five other parties dining. This was our first time visiting and we informed our server who kindly informed us about our options for lunch. You could either order single items off the menu or partake in the all you can eat lunch for $21.95 per diner. We opted for the all you can eat which in my opinion is a great value. We ordered the miso soup which was tasty; the tempura jalapeño which only one came per order; the tuna tataki which only two pieces came per order. It was pretty good also. We ordered the Fat Tuesday roll as well as the Hawaii roll. I thought being that this was an all you can eat sushi restaurant they would skimp on portions/quality/taste. But fortunately for us I was wrong. The sushi was delicious full of fresh ingredients and the presentation was beautiful. We quickly devoured both rolls and were still a bit on the hungry side. I ordered an egg roll and a house salad with the ginger dressing and my husband ordered the gyoza with a house salad. The egg roll was really good. However the salad left little to be desired. It was mostly iceberg lettuce with a few slivers of carrots and the ginger dressing. The gyoza was delivered to us in a portion of three. They appeared to be pan fried and were also good. By that time we were full and were informed that you will be charged for food not eaten. So we didn't want to push our limit. Overall a very good visit. For all you can eat food, I had LOW expectations, not going to lie. They were packed but still had no wait for 2. Bree, our server, was AMAZING!!! So sweet, prompt, and attentive! She asked if we've ever been there before, we said no, and she explained how everything works - everything on the menu is all you can eat (including all special rolls), there's an up charge if you leave lots of leftovers or take food to go, and each person gets a free beer or wine (it's specifically picked, the fancier stuff is charged per glass). Not a single thing I had was bad! I did leave a few pieces of calamari on the plate because it wasn't my favorite and still didn't get charged. They have hibachi (the steak was SO FLAVORFUL AND TENDER, fried rice was so good, veggies were perfectly grilled!), teriyaki, so many apps, sushi, soup, salad, dessert, and so much more! The atmosphere was great (they played Christmas music the whole time and all had Santa hats!). Such cute decorations and the place was HUGE! For 2 AYCE and a glass of wine from the menu it was $76! I understand that most of the servers are younger and new to food service, so that is why I will attribute the issue to management for not taking the time to appropriately instill an acceptable baseline of service.
