I had the wonton soup. The noodles were very bouncy and the soup was very flavorful. Absolutely loved it! Also had the bao bun and it was okay. I was also able to try the tonkotsu black and it was really good! We were a huge group and we were glad to see they had a table that could accomodate us. The servers were very nice. We had problems with some of our orders though. They forgot to add the ramen eggs in our bowls and, when they brought it to our table, we had to slice them in half ourselves which was a struggle to do since all of us had chopsticks lol It was also a struggle trying to flag down somebody to help us with some of the wrong orders but it was a busy hour so we understand. read more

Unless Dj is working do not even bother going. Everytime my boyfriend and I go we typically spend $150-200+ and every single time without fail we always get the worst service ever. Tonight we got there around 8:15-8:30 (we got seated outside) and got forgotten for 15 minutes, no greeting no drinks (mind you it was not busy). Finally a server came, we ordered drinks/appetizers. when the appetizers came out we realized we didn't have sauces on the table. When we asked for them we got responded with "oh like you want them togo" which we politely responded "no we would like the sauces for our appetizers and when we get our food". We finally get our food only to realize one my boyfriend's ramen is incorrect and that he is missing an add on egg. We didn't see our server for a while so we asked another server to go get ours. We are also pretty easy going people and I am in the service industry so I understand how it is but tell me why one of the workers are slinging outside chairs (loudly) around and sweeping at 9:15 while there are three other tables enjoying their food? To top it all my boyfriend paid the bill and didn't receive his card back. Instead we received someone else's paid ticket from a different table and still no card. Again could not find our server so we asked another server to go find ours. While in the midst of trying to get our server another one of the workers asked what was wrong with the bill, which we tried to explain that the bill we received back was not our bill and that we are missing a card. She still didn't understand and said "what is the bill too expensive?" (Which is funny because the already paid bill of SOMEONE ELSES was way cheaper than ours.). After finding our waiter we finally got his card back. Not to mention another time we went we got charged $56 for two dragon drinks when it was supposed to be around $36. And another time where we showed up an hour and a half before they closed...waited 30 minutes to be seated on a slow night...took 15 minutes for drinks..another 20 for food and rushed out by turning the lights on and cutting the music off. Another time by a different server reaching over my boyfriend to collect the sauces that we were still using. I mean the list goes on It is such a shame because we genuinely love the food there but after going there so many times and stuff like this happens why waste your money? Definitely our last time coming unless they change. read more

Very sad to see this place change, the menu has gotten much smaller and food has gone down. Changed their menu and now the appetizers are much smaller, no more spicy shrimp tempura . In all seriousness there are much less options than there used to be but they prioritized their drink menu it looks like. We got the Edemame and I thought it came with salt sprinkled on it usually, definitely did not this time. The spicy chicken ramen tasted good but the noodles were soggy. I asked for extra bean sprouts twice and never got them. My brother said the tofu was very slimy and not enjoyable. I asked the waiter if they do anything for birthdays and he said I gotchu covered. Jinya is my absolute favorite ramen bar in Baton Rouge. The Tonkotsu Red allows me to pick my spice level (which is an 8), add extras like fresh garlic, cabbage and broccoli and swap to thin noodles. This dish makes my tastebuds dance!! The restaurant is usually full of folks at the normal busy times of lunch and early dinner. We went the day after Thanksgiving and it was extremely busy, but to be expected since everyone was out shopping. Staff was super friendly, very polite, and did an excellent job of servicing customers. Very clean and intimate atmosphere. I love the setup and ambiance of the place. I ordered the Birria Ramen and it did not disappoint. I'm still craving it, lol. Forgot to post this from a few weeks ago. As someone from Hawaii who has had good authentic ramen, I would not recommend Jinya. I ordered the tonkotsu black and my friends ordered all different types of ramen, but every broth had no flavor and tasted watery. However, the crispy chicken appetizer & jinya buns were very yummy. We were disappointed that the crispy rice spicy tuna was out on a saturday night. Service was fine, and the atmosphere is cool. I've had jinya ramen in Houston, but this is my first time having it in Baton Rouge. From what I remember, it is pretty similar and of course the Ramen was great. I think my only complaint would be that I wish it had more meat as it seems that most other ramen places I've been to had larger portions of meat. Great location with great service. My husband ordered extra ramen for his Tonkotsu Black but it took so long he canceled the order since his broth was already getting cold. Chicken Chashu Bowl was delicious, and the serving size was too much for me (regular size), you'll have leftover for breakfast/lunch the next day. All in all, you should try JINYA Ramen Bar. I was craving soup and thought of giving this jinya ramen restaurant in Baton Rouge a try. There is seating inside and outside right next to the movie theater. We sat for a while before the server noticed us and came to get our order. The music is a bit loud so it was hard to understand our server. We ordered the spicy chicken ramen and the wonton chicken ramen. Most of the servers were at the station to get the food but our server was no where to be seen. Which is fine because she might have other duties to do. We waited quite a long time. She passed me and I gave her a soft smile as if I'm asking where the food is without any words. She understood my message and said, I just asked and it's coming out soon. It wasn't that soon tho. Anyway another server brought out the tray with the soups to her, to give them to us. The soups were lukewarm as if it has been standing for a while. The broth was just ok. I felt sorry for the 2 shy slices of tiny chicken in my soup. I've always wanted to try this place and one night for a solo date I came here. They have a happy hour I believe everyday. These pork buns are amazing and are 3$ during happy hour. I also had an amaretto sour which was also on the happy hour menu as well. Bartender did a wonderful job. I had the spicy umami Ramen. Next time I know to add additional items to the bowl but I enjoyed either way. I had panna cotta for desert. Only thing I'd add would be a larger scoop of ice cream. When downtown Perkins, this is a cute place to check out out! I brought my niece here and we enjoyed the atmosphere and sitting outside. Our food took forever!!! While waiting, we tried all of the sauces and almost got full on those. We got the edamame as an appetizer and for 6$ you get the smallest portion. Our server, Santos, was not very helpful whatsoever when ordering. I asked a few questions about the menu and what they carried and he responded with options that I asked nothing about. I asked if they could split the spicy chicken ramen for me and my niece and he said yes. I also added the seasoned egg. Food took forever, and then he didn't add the egg. The hostess was very rude. There was a 30 mins wait so we added our name to the waitlist. When we ask if we can sit at the bar and get a drink while we wait, she said yes but we would have to stay and eat at the bar and we would loose our table. I didn't want to eat my dinner at the bar but I didn't understand why we couldn't order a drink and wait there. I told her we'll just wait. She then ask us to leave and we can't wait there. We would have to come back when our table is ready. What made it worst was it was 35 degrees outside. I've tried 3 things in the menu that I really like and I usually get the following: crispy chicken, salmon poke tacos, and the tonkutsu ramen. The small dishes were flavorful and the broth of the ramen was rich, noodles and meat were perfectly cooked. I've been here several times and it's been consistent.
