I inherited my mother's car and my mother always purchased a "AAA" brand of battery. When the battery died on my me, I went to the place I have been going to for the past 15+ years. I stayed in the lobby, as I always do, and when the technician was done, said all set. I paid $120.00 for a 4 year warranty, brand new battery, or so I thought. As the year went by, I'm independent and check my oil, put in fluids in my car every now and then and looked at the battery to see it's a the same name battery as my mother always purchased. At the time, I thought, well maybe they sell the same battery brand and didn't think about it until I was ready to take my other car in for a new battery. Then it hit me! I checked for all my receipt of when I took Mom's car in and lo and behold, My mother kept that receipt, from 2015, in her glove compartment. The same brand, same numbers, written on this receipt for this Mom's car. So I called them and asked they what brand of batteries they sell and he said Centurion. He also said that's all they have every sold for the past 15 + years. Someone got a new battery, but I didn't. Maybe a wire was loose or he jimmied something, but, I have proof / prior receipts that they didn't install a new battery in my car. As my Mama used to say, "A word to the wise is sufficient" Check you car after you have sat in the lobby waiting and trusting they have done what they say they have done. I just got off the phone with the owner and he was so cruel and cold, no customer service at all. Called me names and said I was full of ..... At the end of the conversation he said o.k. bring in your receipts and I'll take a look at it. I don't even want to see what kind of man this is, ever. I am letting the whole thing go. I regret ever giving them my business.

Boom, truck won't start after a coffee stop.... Now what.. there's a list of customers expecting me today.. Thankfully I was near A1 Battery. In under 15 mins there is a new heavy duty battery installed in my truck and I'm back in business.. at a great price, after some great customer service. Battery problems on a Saturday, ugh!…read more A1 battery on Union was AWESOME! I called them 5 minutes before they opened and talked to J.R. He assured me he had a battery that would fit my car and could change out the corroded cable. I pulled up, and a technician named Eedwin walked out and greeted me with a smile, and started diagnosing the issue right away. J.R. and Eedwin went straight to work, pulling out the old battery and replacing it with the new. The AAA representative had mentioned that I needed a specific type of battery, which was only available at the dealership, but J.R. (and later my mechanic) assured me that wasn't the case. J.R. made sure I had the correct battery for my car and even cleaned the battery housing as well. I was there for less than 10 minutes, and everything was under $200, when AutoZone was going to charge me $250 just for the battery! (no install). Time will tell how well the battery does (they gave me a 5-year warranty - 1 year full replacement, the remainder is prorated price for a new battery) but so far, I'm happy with my service. I'd recommend this place to my people.

I'd love to tell you how bad their service department is, but this is a review for A-1. I drove over to the S. Union location (there are 3 A-1 locations). They checked the alternator, then the battery. He said the battery was registering good on his meter. But, because we haul horses, I didn't want to take a chance. While Sean and I took care of the paperwork, the other tech (damn, I am blanking on his name) installed the new battery. In 15 minutes I was on my way.
