3LB's crawfish w/ the works. Claw & brew!! I love The Pit Room so I had to come check the patio out.

Initially I thought this spot was jus a drinking patio to eat your Pit Room bbq at in a more lax environment (which it is) but today I found out they always run crawfish during season so I stopped by for a homie date and yes. Yup. I know the szn jus started but the flavor and quality we were served was dope. Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the experience down to the hospitality and white claws. The Pit Room literally has to slap me in the face for me to ever give them or anything they put their hands in a bad review .. they always find a way to shine.

---Dearest Reader, I write with urgent news, this matter is pressing. With the current season of crawfish underpays it is crucial you visit The Patio on Richmond ASAP. They're currently boiling up some of the biggest bugs in the Bayou City and they're not skimping on size or flavor. Located conveniently next door is their sister spot, The Pit Room, where you can pick up some of their fantastic bbq. Pictured is the crawfish platter w/ corn and sausage, as well as a bbq plate from next door with wagyu beef rib and all of the fine custom fixings. ---How I long to return

The Feast 3 pounds crawfish, 1pound jumbo shrimp, 2 snow crab clusters, sausages, corn, potatoes, mushrooms, fresh garlic cloves

So how to start... please come here for the dive bar atmosphere, stay for the incredible food and hospitality. Our party of four ordered a bucket of beers and one of the specialties, the Feast. The Feast is 3 pounds of crawfish, a pound of (deheaded) jumbo shrimp, two snow crab clusters, sausages, potatoes, corn, mushrooms, and this gorgeous, spicy, salty sauce. You will honestly look for a way to scoop up more sauce! I enjoyed a couple of cocktails, our friends had cold beers, and we have now sworn a pact to return:)

They have absolutely the best crawfish I've ever had to my spicy saucey standards!! I've been coming here for years and years and always come specifically for the crawfish. They make the sauce with crawfish boil seasoning, butter, chopped garlic and some hot sauce. It's so delicious I want to drink it. (Very spicy to some people's standards) I posted a photo of the sauce left over, it's soooo good! Wish I had more potatoes to soak it up with.

My friends and I flew from San Diego, CA and ate next door at the Pit Room. We asked an employee where we should go for drinks and he was like, there's a bar next door! People like to bring their food and walk there with their food to eat and drink. So after we ate, we rolled our luggage to the bar and to our amazement there was a crawfish boil going on! We were so full but it's Texas, we couldn't say no to crawfish! This Russian guy name Dennis and Juanito were killin it and cooking up the crawfish. Each pound comes with corn, potatoes, mushrooms and sausage. It was a killer deal for around $8 a pound. It was spicy, bomb and fun to watch them cook it live. The atmosphere is chill. Everyone was pretty friendly, with all age groups and all ethnicities. My friend kept saying how nice the bartender was and how cheap the drinks were. The Patio and it's Employees made our first Texas stop and meal a really memorable one. I highly recommend coming here if you're in Houston!

Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise. The space is already undergoing the new facelift of a separate concept, one of which I hope will do the area justice, just as much as Wooster's did. ____________ (#1) The Kirby Group. (#2) R.I.P. We were able to snag some free street parking and wandered our way into a cute setup with mood lighting and plenty of seating. There's a central bar and plenty of outdoor patio space. We were immediately helped as soon as we found a table which I really appreciated. The menu is HUGE and has anything you could possibly want. We're big red wine fans so we settled on that page. J opted for a cab while I decided on a couple to sample before ultimately choosing a red blend. I appreciate that they're more than happy to give you a taste before committing to a glass. You can choose between 3 or 6oz pours, or a bottle. We also decided to share a cheese board with the Willoughby cheese which was soft and delicious! I appreciated how kind and accommodating the servers were as they frequently checked on us. This is a great spot to enjoy some wine with friends, on date night, or anything really! I had never even heard of a Martinez but I was open to trying it. He made it, looked at it, and said it didn't come out right. He asked if it would be okay for him to redo it which I of course obliged. I appreciated the fact that he didn't serve me a drink that wasn't properly made. The wait was worth it. Bar is first come first serve seating. If you want a table, there are probably around 50 to 60 seat seats in the restaurant. I didn't run into any issues having to have any reservation, but I can see it being busy if there's any celebration. There's also an outdoor area too if you wanna hang out, the day I went, it was raining so it was closed, but I could see that being really nice in the summer. They have a really, really big drink menu. And a lot of cocktails. I drank a pretty in pink, it was a tasty drink and I highly recommend. Very good and classic cocktail, sweet and tangy and aesthetically pretty. I think it's a classic sports bar with a bunch of TVs that you could just watch any sort of game and grab a drink or a beer. I would say the appeal of the location is probably the vast drink menu. On the menu, there's a lot of real food, or shareables. I was with a large group so we stuck to more shareable's. The pizza was good and pretty standard. I thought the nachos wasn't as good, the steak was kind of overcooked, but still a great shareable item. Service was a really fast and accommodating. We ended up having to change tables multiple times because of our guest count, but they were really helpful about it and accommodating. The only saying that I didn't like is that they don't have a lot that you can self park. It's valet only it's $10 on the weekdays and $20 on the weekends. The area is relatively safe, but I ended up valet because of just a lot of people walking around the area. It felt more safe, but the valet was definitely more expensive than I would've preferred. Fun fact, they do celebrate birthdays with sparklers! Super easy to just tell the waitress and she will send somebody over.

First things first: parking. They offer valet with two options. We were told it was $20 for them to park your car in their lot (I'm guessing that's their "VIP" option) or $10 for them to take your car to a parking garage. I chose the $10 option, and funny enough, they still parked my car in the VIP lot area anyway, so no complaints there. As for the restaurant itself, it's very spacious with a really nice vibe. It would be a good spot for happy hour, catching up with friends, or a casual date night. The service was pretty quick and they were also considerate in allowing me and one of my friends sit about 15-20 minutes earlier than our party's reservation start time rather than us having to sit at the bar or something. For drinks, I tried the French 75 and the Pretty in Pink. Completely different vibes, but both were tasty and well made. Food-wise, I started with the Brussels sprouts, and honestly, they weren't my favorite. I felt like they needed a sauce or something to tie everything together because when I took the leftovers home and paired them with an aioli, they were significantly better. The calamari was pretty decent, and surprisingly, the side house salad was probably the best thing I ate all night, which made me laugh because it wasn't anything particularly special. Overall, this isn't a place I'd rush back to on my own, but it was still a solid experience. I wouldn't be opposed to returning if someone else suggested it, especially for happy hour, the drinks, and the atmosphere.
