As far as auto parts store goes, this one is fine. This location is new, they have a good selection of both cheap and higher end items and the help was courteous and quick during the transactions I've made there. Where this place loses the other 2 stars at is the clientele. Yes, I realize that includes me but bear with me here. Oh my God, where do I start? I had to visit this store about three times this past weekend and each and every time, there was an absolute moron in front of me. If it wasn't the guy loudly dropping the f-bomb while "speaking" on his Nextel phone, it was the two young dudes trying to hit on the girl behind the counter (guys, she is being paid to be nice to you. Keep that in mind) or the other old dude yelling at his daughter(?) and the poor guy behind the counter because they came totally unprepared with what fluid type they needed. Yes, the counter boy should absolutely know what kind of transmission fluid you need you dope. /eyeroll So, weigh the benefits of a good, well-stocked store with decent help vs. horrible customers who will most assuredly make your trip 10 minutes longer than it should be. read more

Went in to do a simple tool return and buy some brake cleaner. Not a single other customer in the building. 3 employees standing around talking to each other, one of them told to wait for a 4th employee to help me. The 4th employee was busy with a parts delivery from another store. Waited 10 minutes and left when it was clear the 4th employee wouldn't be done any time soon and the other 3 weren't going to make any effort to help me. read more

I like this location so much better than the Ferndale store....it's new and clean and the staff is helpful. I called just before closing on a weeknight and Molly looked up pricing on a part for me. I ran up, she got me squared away easy peezy and on my way I went. This is my new O'Reilly's of choice. I know it's not terribly difficult to call and get prices for parts but it's appreciated when the person on the other end speaks English well and they're not rushing you off the phone. read more

Any good review on this dump is likely written by the illiterate and blatantly stupid residents of the town. As far as this oriellys goes ( all are pretty useless ) , it is absolutely the worst I've been to. The employees are extremely slow( mentally and physically). Not one of them should be employed here , as they not only do not know at all what they are doing , needing to use the computer to look up the simplest of items, they act as if their word is god when it really only is worthless. Employee attitude and severe lack of knowledge throughout all employees makes this destination a complete waste of time. Go elsewhere. read more

I waited in line patiently for my turn to only be told to wait a little longer for someone to check an engine light warning. While waiting other customers came in continuously Apparently because this is a free service you are not respected even though you've been a customer since it was Murray's. 20 years to be accurate. My old battery kept dying on me in the recent frigid cold. Had to get a few jump starts in the last few days! The guy from my Motor Cub recommended I go to an o'Reilly store. I ended up at the store at 9 Mile and John R in Hazel Park. There, I was nicely taken care of. A very nice guy named Thomas, who worked there, rose to the occasion and installed my New battery out in the frigid cold! I was so very appreciative! I will definitely return to this location for future automotive needs! Good service is everything! read more

I'm only giving the business itself 1 star so I can get everyone's attention who already shops at this location or may shop at this location. Let me precede what I am about to tell you that I don't think my review should stop you from bringing your business to this store. The owners, managers, co-workers, are normal people just like you and I and it would be very hard to catch this or prove this about a employee. I can't prove what I am about to tell you but I feel it's my obligation to warn everyone. Read what I have to say and you can decide if it is probable or not, I am just going to give you the facts. On Saturday, May 16th I went up to this store to pick up a headlight and a few other items with my partner. My partner gave the young guy her debit card and he got out one of the old school credit sliders and placed a piece of paper over the card then took a pencil and shaded the card over. Instantly my partner looked uncomfortable and I asked her what was wrong. She looked at the kid and said why are you doing it that way? He explained the system had been going in and out all day and that is the only way he can keep record of it. He assured her that she would get a copy and the copy he has would be put in a safe where nobody could get it. She still didn't like it and told me we should go somewhere else. I feel not only stupid but very guilty that I was annoyed because we were short on time and I said don't worry. She doesn't have the normal "Friday" payday so after spending the money we wouldn't be buying anything else and waiting for her check on Monday. I told her if something happened we would know where it happened. After the guy had traced the card he said he had to call the system to make sure the card was good. Again annoyed my partner was like who are you calling? With this he started to act very annoyed, again stupid me not thinking said (my partners name) just let it go the guy is trying to talk on the phone. The reason why I felt even more safe is because his supervisor and another woman was right next to him telling us yeah this happens and that they're system is a little older. I do not believe they were in on any kind of scam or anything so that isn't what I am going to tell you. I noticed he was taking a long time on the phone and I can tell she was getting irritated again so I said is the computer place really busy or are more stores down or something. He started to explain that some times they can take a long time. I thought to myself as I am watching the guy "wow you really have to press a lot of prompt buttons ." I thought that was odd. Then he sighs and says ughh "they dropped me or something!"Irritated he calls back and about 3 minutes later after pushing more buttons the call was done and he runs it through. I probably don't have to tell you this but on late Sunday evening we went to use the card and it was declined. We do not shop online, we hadn't even gone out anywhere between that purchase at the store and this purchase we were trying to make. We called and they said that some strange purchases were made a couple of hours ago in downtown Detroit at Indian Villiage Market in Detroit Michigan and then a gas station. The first charge was 300.00, then 3 minutes later another 400 dollars. Then "whomever" went to a gas station tried to get gas or make a purchase and they shut the card down. Bummer for them because that may have been a good night for them as this was our business card. At that moment I instantly knew I should never and would never doubt my partners instincts again! I cannot prove it and I am not accusing any individual but clearly I couldn't get the thought out of my head that it was the only purchase we made and only public place we were in. We had gone right home stopping no where else and I had to work on her car. I want to add that I did go talk to a manager, he was very professional and I explained I just wanted to let him know what happened just in case it happens to anyone else. He was very nice, attentive, and assured me that he would let all the other managers know so they could be on the look out if anything like that happens to anyone else. It was driving me mad thinking about how it could have been done without leaving noticeable "bread crumbs" so to speak. Most likely they have camera's so it would be dumb to take the copy and then right it down. Also anyone can notice that unless you go to the bathroom with it and write it down.
