If I could rate 0 stars, I would. Avoid this location at all costs, especially if you own a Subaru. They completely overfilled my oil and drained all of the transmission fluid in my engine. I have a 2022 Subaru that only had 19,000 miles at the time. When I drove back to tell them about the sound my engine was making, they blamed it on my power steering fluid, talked to me both condescendingly and defensively, did a half-ass check only to tell me "it's a gearbox issue." They then also told me to just get it checked at the dealership and displayed a total lack of remorse for a mistake they knew they had made. I had to get my car towed to the dealership and cancel the only weekend plans I had been able to make in months. Just the small amount of driving I did to tell them about the sound was enough to destroy my engine because they drained all of my transmission fluid. I had to completely replace my engine, which was a 10k replacement. When we tried to go to their customer service, they were vague and unhelpful, and completely ghosted us after a few emails. The only reason we were able to get any kind of help is by reaching out to the owner of the Uncle Ed's franchise, where he luckily paid the cost of the engine for us. The process took weeks and was extremely expensive for me, as I'm a college student that commutes and works, and was miserable the whole way through. If you want people who have no idea what they're doing and people who will blame their mistakes on you, this is the place to go. Them destroying my engine and making a massive mistake is not even the worst part-- it was the treatment after it had happened. They are costly, slow, inexperienced, and will destroy your car while trying to swindle you. read more

I just came to this company for an oil change this morning. The temperature outside was 14 degrees. The reason I noticed I needed an oil change was because my dashboard low tire pressure indicator lights were on. After changing the oil -- for $87 -- the attendant told me the air compressor was broke and they couldn't top off my tires. I was told to go down the road and stand out in 14 degree weather and filll my own tires myself....of course the place they told me to use had no functioning air compressor. Would give 0 stars if I could. We got a coupon in the mail for $25 off an oil change (which I had gotten in the mail previously and used at this location). We went to use it & they told me the coupon was not in their system and they would not honor it. Then as my husbands car was pulled up & being serviced all of a sudden it wouldn't start. We've never had this issue in the past and it felt very suspicious for that to be the first time for that to happen in over 16 months of owning the vehicle. We now need a new battery after going for an oil change. Very disappointed, I would not recommend them to anyone and we will not be returning. read more

As a woman, I hate taking my car for an oil change because I always feel I will be taken advantage of by recommending unnecessary services. I almost always say no then talk to my mechanic that I trust. I had my whole engine in my car rebuilt by a very respectable auto shop. I went to get my oil change in the proper amount of time and was told by Uncle Ed's that it was thick and I needed a flush. I said, I just had the whole engine rebuilt, so I won't be doing that today. He said "Well, your auto mechanics will say you don't need it, but you do. " While friendly, I they did attempt to flatter me into paying for more services. I did not like this technique. I then take my car to my trusted mechanic and ask them to look at my engine and they say it's fine. I decided to take my car back to my mechanic for the next oil change and he said it looks great! No problems with the oil appearing thick. And it even cost $20 less than Uncle Eds (including using Uncle Eds coupon) for a synthetic oil change. I do not recommend Uncle Eds, especially for women. read more

Kings of the upsell. Don't get me wrong, they do a great job, however they won't ever "just" give you an oil change. They try to sell hard on higher grades of oil, better oil filters, wiper blades, etc Here's a tip, if you're going to Uncle Ed's, make sure to look online for a coupon for your particular service. read more

Yesterday morning, my engine light went on while I was driving to work. I knew in the back of my mind I had not had an oil change in awhile, and I was worried that that was the reason. Right after work, I got to my car and found the battery dead. After receiving a jump, I wanted to make sure I took care of my oil change and make sure there was nothing else wrong with my car. I initially went to Valvoline, which was on my was home. I pulled in to the parking lot at 6:56 and was turned away by a employee that said they were closing at 7:00. I knew there was an Uncle Ed's up the road and rushed there to see what their hours of operations were. I pulled into the parking lot at 7:02 and got discouraged because I saw that they also closed at 7. Thankfully, Marcus and Nate Myles, the store manager, were very welcoming and serviced my car. I am so grateful that they did. After they changed my oil, they instructed me to turn my vehicle on and THE BATTERY HAD DIED AGAIN. They had the battery in stock and replaced it as well. They stayed an hour after close to service my vehicle and were so friendly and professional. They also gave me a list of future recommendations of service to be done to my car. I can't imagine what I would have done if I didn't go to Uncle Ed's yesterday evening. You made a customer for life! read more

I've been taking my car to Uncle Ed's for years. Particularly this location for oil changes. I also have stopped in to have them check and fill my tires when my tire light came on. This is a free service they offer their customers! They will also top off your fluids if needed. The employees are fast, friendly and knowledgeable! read more

Every visit I've had to this oil shop since 2019 has been quick, communicative and friendly. They don't upsell to me like the other reviews say. They will make suggestions and if I tell them no, that's the end of that. They make sure to check my air pressure in my tires, fill my windshield wiper fluid and offered to run their machine for the lights on my dashboard. I trust this location immensely with my oil changes. :) read more

I should have done this review YEARS AGO!! I've only been bringing my work vans, work trucks and ALL my personal vehicles here for a minute!!! The Uncle Ed's is TOP NOTCH! ALL Uncle Ed's Oil Shops should be modeled after this one and follow their lead! The leadership and professionalism from management to pit crew is what keeps me returning here. They also treat you like family. Similar to an old school repair from light years ago which you just don't find in a shop anymore. I work in Dearborn and I refuse to go to any other oil shop but this one! Marcus I see you! Great job guys! read more

Last visit was very disappointing, I have learned that there up sell tactics are shady at best. But the kicker is that these so called mechanics did not fill the windshield washer fluid (it is winter time), they did not clean the leaves out of the engine area and they did not check the transmission fluid.....SHM read more

I can't believe this is real life. As many people not familiar with the ins and outs of their car, it's always a somewhat uncomfortable experience to take your car in for servicing. There's that distinct fear that you're about to be taken advantage of. I thought that may have been fixed by the friendly Uncle Ed's technicians. I was wrong. I came in around March, 2017 for an oil change to be told my oil was still full despite my vehicle informing me that I had 15% oil life remaining. The technician reset my oil life indicator and sent me on my way. At the end of June, when my oil life indicator again reached 15%, I returned. I was told by the manager, Nathan, that my car was extremely low on oil. When I informed him of my March visit, he said it was unfortunate the technician had told me my oil was full, and nothing more. The pistons then started making an odd sound which Nathan said was due to the lack of oil. I then felt a strange tugging sensation on my car, which the employees denied occurred. Naturally, this was extremely concerning and, considering my vehicle was a lease, I expressed my concerns. Nathan did nothing but attempt to assure me the vehicle would have no lasting damage and reset my oil life indicator for me. Considering the incompetence expressed so far by the employees (and the utter failure to do so much as apologize for such incompetence) combined with the actual lie regarding the tugging sensation of my vehicle, I was more than a little upset. Less than 6 weeks after this oil change (and well under 3,000 miles driven), my oil life indicator was AGAIN at 15%. I called and spoke with Marcus who gave me the phone number for the district manager, Willy Pompey. Despite leaving multiple voicemails with Willy over the course of two weeks, I have not received a return call from either Willy, Marcus, or Nathan. To say that I am horrified by this utter lack of basic customer service does not even begin to explain my frustration with Uncle Ed's. I will, of course, never return and intend on posting this review to as many places online as possible to warn others. read more

They Do Not Respect Your Time!! Do not take your vehicle here. I was on a somewhat busy schedule for today. So, I decided to take my vehicle in for service right when Uncle Ed's opened at 9:00am. Of course, you'd like to give the workers a few minutes before they opened up for the day. After 5 minutes passed, I was fine. I just waited to be directed into one of the garage bays. Ten minutes passed, I still sat and watched the workers milling around. I was still trying to be patient. They knew I was out there waiting which made it a little frustrating. There wasn't even an attempt to come out and let me know that they knew I was waiting and the reason for the delay. Did I mention that there were no vehicles already being serviced? Over 15 minutes later (the amount of time that they advertise would take for an oil change) a worker finally comes out to talk to me. He doesn't apologize for the wait. What does he tell me? He says that he has few more things to do and that they'll be able to get my vehicle in another 10 minutes!! That's over 25 minutes just waiting for my vehicle to be looked at! Reminder: I was there promptly at 9am, no other cars were being serviced, and I was expected to wait almost half an hour for service! If there were one or two cars ahead of me, I would have been nothing but understanding ... I would wait however long it took. But, this was ridiculous! Also, Uncle Ed's has made mistakes in servicing my vehicle in the past. Actually, the last time I visited they made a major mistake. However, I have always been understanding, allowing them to simply fix their mistakes. Today was the last straw! Once they stop respecting their customers time, they've basically stopped respecting the customer. Find somewhere else to go! read more
