This is my updated Review on my situation. Sometime, last month on August 2, 2026, I was parking my Honda Civic Coupe in the underground parking garage at the Sharp Emergency Memorial Hospital in San Diego, CA. It's been several years that I had to park in an Underground Parking Garage. I was driving my own car towards the parking booth where this booth hospital employee was sitting inside this compact parking booth. I waited to receive my GREEN Validated Parking Pass from their Parking Lot Machine. Once one of their Green Validated Parking Pass dispense this ticket out to me. I accepted this parking pass then I had to wait for their gate to open up. I drove past through their parking lot gate , then I turned my front headlights on the Bright Level. Unfortunately, this Underground Parking Garage was too DARK for me to see ahead of me. There needs to be more brighter lighting in this Sharp Memorial Hospital Underground Parking Garage Structure. There are (4 Parking Garage Levels). I had to drive around 3 times before I found one open compact parking lot spot in the corner. When I was finished with my Emergency Room appointment one hour later. I got into my car and I started my car then I backed up very slowly, then I heard this Loud Crunching Sound coming from my (left rear taillight). I stopped my car then I got out of my car. I notice my (Rear Taillight) was broken). I looked to see if someone's back bumper on their car showed any damage. No there was Nothing at all. Then there was No Charge to me since I was a patient at Sharp Memorial Hospital. Then I had to drive back home on the freeway. I called an Auto Repair Shop in Lemon Grove, CA. Joe this Shop Owner quoted me for just buying the part it is $248.00. Joe said he would install just this part that I would have to order myself at this parts store on the Internet. Joe the Auto. Parts Owner said he will charge me an extra $100.00 for putting the part inside my back rear taillight. My total price would be $348.00. A very expensive price and repair that I cannot afford right now. Then I drove over to O'Reilly Auto Parts Store. I talked to their manager David. He said for me to buy the LENS LITE AUTO REPAIR TAPE in the RED COLOR to match the color of my car's (Milano Red) Paint. The Red Tape is an exact match. I was charged the $4.00 price for this Lens Lite Auto Repair Tape. I told the manager David that he saved me $348.00 . I cut with scissors this Red Lite Auto Repair Tape for the exact size of the area that had been broken out on the Rear Back Taillight. Then I applied this Red Tape over my broken Rear Taillight. This area is fully functional and covered completely. The light bulb is in perfect condition. I thanked David their manager for saving me a lot of money and time. I highly recommend this product. I also received great advice from David their O'Reilly Automotive Parts Manager. read more

Tony lent me a tool needed to replace my car battery and even came out as I was fumbling with the battery and offered his help. Great staff, always there to help when they can. they do get busy sometime, but I fully understand they help customers as much as possible with the sell, battery installs, wipers and various other things that they don't have to do. I just moved to the area and so it's the closest spot to my house. I used to live closer to Autozone so usually went there but gonna have to switch it up because when I'm working on my car the biggest thing I hate doing is wasting time driving to the auto parts store. So far my experience at this place has been decent. I get the parts that I need and get out. I haven't had to wait in line so that is always a plus. I get the right parts that fit that is also very important and the dudes seem to know what there doing. It's weird because they use carbon copies for their receipt system which seems old school and a waste of materials but actually may be better for the environment because typical receipt paper is worse. Anyways I'm liking my new parts store so far and if I can't get what I need there is also an Autozone a few blocks a way so I have options. read more

Spoke with a "Manny" this morning about trying to do a credit or debit card purchase over the phone, says they can't do that, and when I say that's dumb, because the whole world does business that way, he decides to tell me "that's the way it is, and I don't need your attitude right now...". I ask for his name, and ask to speak to his manager/supervisor, he says "you don't need that...", and hangs up. Next call, I speak with manager "Tran", who tells me it is possible for me to make the purchase without me being the store with the card, but even he has a very patronizing, and condescending attitude....jeez, does anyone teach customer service, anymore? I'm giving them 3.5 stars because they had some good stuff but the prices are a little high for me. I could probably go to Walmart or Pep Boys for the same thing and about 2 bucks cheaper. I drove down to Oreilly's in lemon grove, at 1pm, to pick up a gas cap for my mother's car, since it showed as in stock online.(for that store). After wasting gas to go there, I was told "none were in stock, and he could order one from Chula Vista, and it might be there by 4pm". I called at 5pm and he said "it didn't make it on the truck", and it would be there the next day by noon. I called the next day at 12:30, and was told "it didn't make it on the truck, and it might be there by 5pm, if not, the day after" So I ended up buying the same part, for less money somewhere else, I'll just have to wait a couple days. I have worked at 2 smaller Auto parts stores in the past, and we had more than one transfers a day, and if we, or another store screwed up, we would send a driver to pick it up, or have a driver from the other store deliver it, to, try, to make it good by the customer. Because a happy customer, is a returning Customer. Hate to say it, but if they can't get a gas cap to Chula Vista to lemon grove in two-three tries in two days, they don't deserve my business, now, or in the future. I recommend you don't "try" to give them your business either. I will say,... that everyone I spoke to was very nice and it seemed like it would be taken care of, but them being nice still doesn't get me the part I need. read more

Im a female and let me tell you... I came into this store very nervous because I don't know anything about cars but my brother who usually fixes my car told me to go to this store because he's not living with me here in San Diego he's all the way in Washington. As soon as I came in, Jose asked if I needed help and nervous to say that I just needed help with my loose trunk latch. He helped me by looking at my trunk latch, helping finding the right screws that'll fit it and within 10 minutes my trunk was able to close completely. With out any hesitation Jose proudly helped me fix me trunk. Now it can close down securely. Thank you!!! Thank you so much!!! read more

Came in about 11:30 today to buy some Cataclean. Decided to browse prior to getting my main reason for being there. The guy at the front counter asked me if I needed help but in the most insincere way possible, but I answered that I was just looking. Looked at a couple things before grabbing a bottle of Cataclean. Before going to check out I decided to take a look at the headlight restore and while comparing products, the guy at the front counter called another guy to the front counter and I overheard him tell the 2nd guy to watch me because I looked "suspicious". The main guy at this point needed to go outside to help change a battery and at this point I called him out for thinking that I was a thief, his response was that it was non of my business and that I was being paranoid. We had a couple more words before he walked out to change a battery, I too walked out a moment later without any product. The assistant manager Dwayne is trash. Yesterday he broke my safety bar for my battery while installing a lightbulb for my left headlight. After installation, he told me that he broke it and that I can "pay for a new one" the next time I come back. I thought that was ridiculous because he was the one that broke it. Fortunately, I went back today and Hoan fixed it for free. Hoan is absolutely amazing! He's super nice and professional, unlike Dwayne. Five stars for Hoan. Less than one star for Dwayne. Bottom line: go to Hoan, NOT Dwayne. read more

0 stars for the lady there named Sylvia. 5+ stars for the guy named Kevin. IN SUMMARY: Sylvia is not only un-helfpul, she ACTIVELY talks in a way that makes help difficult. She is bad news. Kevin was the exact opposite. He not only took care to find out what was going on, he did all the work FOR me and with great competence. NOW FOR MY DISSERTATION: My car wouldn't start after I filled up at the gas station literally next door to O'Reilly. A very nice guy gave me a jump, and my car started. I wasn't sure if this problem was solely an issue with the battery and was afraid to turn off the car for fear it wouldn't turn on again (it hadn't turned over at all, not even a click, and I wasn't home yet). I walked into the store and explained to the lady (Sylvia) that I was afraid to turn off my car because I wasn't sure if there was something wrong with the battery. She looked at me like I was an idiot. I continued on, asking if there was a way to test the battery. Her response: "You have to turn off your car to test the battery." Wow. I explained: "Okay, before I do that, I want to make sure you carry the battery that goes with my car." Again a facial expression like I was a dummy. "We sell batteries here." No kidding. I asked, "Is there a way we can check to see if you have the right battery for my car here, physically?" This was the first helpful thing out of her mouth: "What's the make and model of your car?" As she was searching on the computer, she had the audacity to tell me, "I'm not here for you to be coming all different." [Apparently she thought it was I who was talking with discourtesy or "coming all different" in our conversation.] When the guy worker got off the phone (Kevin), Sylvia turned to him and said, "He's afraid to turn off his car, and as I have reaffirmed with him, we carry the battery for his car." First, she did not "reaffirm" anything with me. The only time she confirmed that they had my battery in stock was when she spoke to him. Second, I was thankful that I had someone else to talk to. Kevin tested the alternator, tested the battery, taught me about the levels of distilled water in the battery, cleaned the terminals, suggested I get a gel for the terminals, sold it to me, sprayed the terminals for me, reconnected everything and gave me tips. He was very kind, extremely knowledgable and very competent. I hope this experience gets the attention of O'Reilly so they can investigate Sylvia and thereby protect their good name and keep good employees. I doubt Kevin enjoys working with someone like that. read more

I made an online order and had to call the store to make sure they was processing my order because I was waiting for about an hour to receive a confirmation email to pick up my order. The associate who answered the phone was super rude and didn't provide much help. He said "ummm your order is ready. You can come pick it up." After the call I got a email saying my order was ready for pick up (meaning it's been ready they just didn't send out my email) I Came to the store to pick up an online order was greeted horrible, (with a "wussup what do you need") they didn't have any loaner pliers so I could remove my old battery (he said they had large tools for loan but didn't have a plier ‍) and was just rude in general. Sales associate Dwayne S. Didn't seem like he wanted to help me and had a terrible attitude. I Will not return to this O'rileys, and hopefully the managers can train their staff better at customer service. This made me experience ordering online tragic and I will be definitely contacting corporate on Monday. I wasn't offered any battery corrosion prevention or anything. Mr "HOAN " took his time to Educate me and Showed me what BEST for my car . Should get a pay raise.

This past Monday I did my very first oil change so I am still a little new everything, but I chose to use O'Reilly as my store of choice for oil and filters. I spent $50 on two cars worth and went on my way. When I finally finished the oil change I realized I had a quart of unused oil in the container. Instead of pouring the old oil in with the new and wasting, I called the store and the employee working told me it was cool to bring it in trash bags. When I got to the store, this fat kid with glasses sighed and tried to tell me I needed the container. I told him I called in and he rolled his eyes and said "come with me". In the back room he had me empty the oil in the bigger barrel as he is sitting back with his arms crossed smiling. I did it with no complaints, but then I got oil on my hand. I asked if it was cool to use the bathroom to wash my hands and he said no I was not allowed to use their employee only restroom. So after all said and done, they had bad customer service and I will be going elsewhere even if it means spending more money. read more
