When on the phone, let employee know that I was in my way and I literally walked up to the door at 8:59p and they locked the door in my face. With the part still sitting on the counter. Oh my goodness!! I am so glad I went here! My headlight went out on my car, so I came here to get new bulbs. I looked up some YouTube videos on how to replace it and figured it looked easy enough to tackle myself. I was clearly wrong. There was an interesting contraption on them from some LED bulbs that went out and it threw me off. Michael B. an amazing employee was able to come out and give me a huge helping hand! I came in for some new wiper blades and a part for my car and the service was very good, so much of an improvement over another nearby competitor that I felt compelled to write a review. I was assisted by the manager who couldn't have been more friendly or helpful if he'd tried. They didn't have the part I needed and they don't normally sell it but he ordered it and said it would be delivered to the store the same day. There was a discrepancy in communication that resulted in the wrong thing, and that was probably my fault, but they refunded me and were nice about it. I would definitely return again if I needed to because the service was so good. They're in a little strip mall with the animal hospital and the copy shop, there's plenty of parking and the lot is easily accessible. This place completely sucks. Just like all other O'Reilly stores I've visited. I went in on 01/01/2021. The clerks literally didn't speak with me at all, weird but it didn't break me. The clerk rang me up and didn't speak with me, at all either. He didn't ask me for my rewards card, and acted put out when I asked him to scan it. He was a rude jerk. I had to come back inside with my empty windshield wash, and deal with a second dose of IDGAF. Fun... not! I called the store three different times trying to get the customer service number, at first to try to update my rewards card information. Twice, they gave me the wrong number, the third time, they picked up the line, and hung up in my face. I found the number online, and called them. This is over WINDOW WASH. I was going to let it go, but everything that has happened has been just gross on their end. A guy from Texas called me the next morning at 8 A.M. He tells me he will forward this to the district manager. Crickets... until TWO WEEKS LATER, a guy named "Mario" calls me with more attitude sauce and wasn't letting me speak. When I was ALLOWED to speak, he kept telling me, NO! He was arguing about my ACTUAL EXPERIENCE that he didn't participate in or witness. What a complete joke. These guys are really terrible and hostile and the management is completely incompetent. This isn't my first bad experience with an o'Reilly store, but it will be my last. I'm sure they are suuuuupppppeeeerrr concerned, wink! Since they have deleted my tip on multiple occasions, I will write it in this review: They do not have an accessible trash can in their lot, outside their door, or inside their door. Martin just saved the day.... It's 8 o'clock at night and my car is giving me all these sensor readings like Fourth of July. So I pulled into the O'Reilly's out here in El Cajon. I walk in. Martin gives me a nice friendly smile and asked if he can help me. I tell him that I'm embarrassed to say that I have no idea what kind of oil goes in my car but I know that It really wants some.... I know that normally employees don't go out to customers cars. But it's late and it's dark and he was kind enough to walk out with me to check to see what kind of coolant my car used and just to make sure I was OK. I've driven all across the country in all sorts of vehicles. I've had trailers. And encountered all sorts of fun car troubles. I muddle through OK on my own, but wow is it nice to have someone care when I go into an auto parts store ....and care enough to make sure that I am safe and OK as well as the obligatory making sure that I'm getting the right fluids for my car. I stopped in this O'Reilly to pick up one of those large bottles of Splash Ultimate window washer fluid for $3.99. It is a little more expensive than the other brands, but this one, I have found does the best job, when you have bird poop and dead bugs dried on your win-shield to remove. I hate when that happens, but this product does a pretty good job, and if you have some good quality blades, it usually does the trick without needing to scrub it by hand. The place was pretty well stocked and organized. I was in a hurry, and the register attendant was good and friendly enough. Oh yes, if you are ever in a jam, and your battery is on the funk, they will test your battery and let you know what gives. read more

The Manager John seemed to have a problem with me,over what I'm not sure ? I was returning some lugs they had sold me that were the wrong size, their mistake. Honestly no big deal and the person I had spoken to before was helpful and gave me 10% discount for all the headache. Fine, I ordered the lugs would return the next day bringing back the lugs that didn't fit.. Cool, right ?.. Shouldn't have been an issue returning and picking up $53.00 in lugs. John the manager was obstinate and intentionally slow (I hope so) I was there for 45 min going over a basic return and purchase. At first he declined to honor the 10% discount (that wasn't even originally my idea) saying I wasn't a veteran like him and then several attempts to get him to understand that I had prepaid for the original parts and only needed to pay the difference again It was tedious and felt intentional. It wasn't issue (the other trips there) and I wasn't upset til 30 minutes later watching him help other people. In the end I missed an important appointment and watched 10 people come and go while I waited for this guy to figure out a basic transaction. I own my business and can tell when someone's getting jerked around. I've lived in La Mesa for 30 years and have been giving my business to this Oreillys for at least 20 of those years but I think it's time to go elsewhere for my auto parts. One of the most frustrating visits I've ever had to an auto store. I go in for two trunk springs and ask the lady for it, she can't find it in the system. Then someone else comes over to help. I was driving to my daughter's house and at one stop my foot went all the way to the floor. The car stopped but it scared me. I pulled into a strip mall that had an O'Reilly's in it..went in to get some brake fluid (hoping that might help). I had to leave in 10 mins to pick up my husband after work, grabbed a brake fluid and went to check out. John asked about my car, I told him what happened and he went and picked out the correct (and less expensive) brake fluid, rang me up then went out and put the fluid in the brake fluid container under the hood! Good thing because I had no clue where it was! I came into the store to purchase a specific item. John, the manager, noticed I was wandering around looking for something. Instead of me having to go up front to the counter John asked if I needed help. I loved that he did that. He was very personable. He found the item for me. I paid for it, then left. When I got into my car and turned the lights on I noticed my right-front headlight was out, so I walked back into the store. John was busy with another customer so another employee helped me find the bulb I needed. When John came back into the store I asked if he could help me again. He did. He, not only assured me I had the correct bulb, but he installed it for me. I was so thrilled! I really do appreciate ALL his help! Car was having problems starting the night before - it was either battery or alternator - not sure. Brought it in and test determined it was battery. The nice gentleman at the store I think his name was Markus - gosh I forget. He was super nice and said he had been working at the store a couple of years now and used to be in the restaurant industry. He offered to put the new battery in and take the old battery away - I swear I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. This is my wifes car since the whole thing was so fast I was able to drop the car back off at home and head to work. I was extremely impressed with the service!
