It's great to have a local auto parts store. I like the personal service and the ability to speak w car experts. Today, it was something very simple in changing out a headlight bulb for my daughter's car. I've done this before, it's pretty easy to swap out bulbs. The young girl behind the counter was very nice and pulled up specs quickly but it's always easier if you have the old part out. She didn't want to sell me the wrong part and had a staff member go outside and pull it for me. I came in she walked me to through the replacements, which is helpful. Best part ( wait for it) I purchased the part and she had her colleague put it back in for me. It's always the little things that impress me, especially when folks go out of their way to be nice. This is my go to auto parts store ( my favorite). read more

Went in for a warranty battery replacement. Took about 20 minutes to test battery which tested good but O'Reilly replaced the battery due to excess corrosion anyway. Mathew was very helpful. read more

Don't shop here! Ladies, if your husband asks for you to go here. Go to the other one in El Cajon on Broadway. This store on Mollision is so bad. Disorganized, trashy, messy, no one can help you, the manager is a condescending ***, they say they have it then they don't, they won't help you, they will yell at you for changing a headlight. You got to pick and choose what you get here. I wanted flashers for my car and they didn't have it in stock but could order them. Part was $25 each. I went on Amazon and got two flashers for $11 next day delivery. Sometimes it helps to come here and then not. I'm happy with my Amazon purchase and blinkers work great. read more

Before I bought Innova inspection Camera for $136.38 I made sure to ask the sales man (Axel) if I can return the camera in case it didn't fit the purpose I'm buying it for and he told me "yes I can as long as you have the receipt and not used." The inspection camera was wider than the hole and I didn't use it but when I went back to return it another sales man ( Marco ) told me he can't return it. I explained to him I was informed by his coworker that I can and he can watch store cameras to prove I'm telling the truth and he should honor what Axel told me but he insisted not to return it and said its written on the back of the receipt its optional return I told him Why was I not told its optional when I asked initially? I asked precisely about returning policy and your coworker gave me false information then the employee Marco became very rude to me and told me to come back and talk to Axel or the manager. I told him I can't come back because I have sciatica pain and I need to speak with the manager now, he then switched to the story that he is the manager & will not return it and even refused to even give me a pen to write his name and told me to come back tomorrow. I made sure to remember the name on his shirt. I'm asking that store manger and O'Rileys business to choose their employees well and make sure they are knowledgeable and inform the customers the right information because this situation is ridiculous and it would not have happened had the employees known what they were talking about. read more

Never trust their "diagnostic tool". It does not test battery, alternator or starter accurately. They do not tell you until AFTER you purchase and repair based on their diagnostic that they do NOT stand behind their product. Go to NAPA, 4 blocks away, they keep their equipment properly calibrated. Cost me 350.00 wasted dollars. Never again with this company, too many better choices close by. read more

" Great Customer Service, From A Great Assistant Manager " I went to the O' Reilly Auto Parts on Mollison Ave. in El Cajon to get some information and help about the installation of 2 licence plate holders for my new car California License plates. I met Austin the Assistant Store Manager and asked him if he would come out in the parking lot to look at my new license plates. Austin was so nice and very easy to talk with, as we went back into the store and Austin took a lot of time to look at the different plate holders to see what was going to be the best holders for my car. I had been to other Auto part stores and nobody was as detailed and really wanted to help me with my new California State license plates installation like Austin was. After we decided which Holder plates would work on my new vehicle, Austin said he would install the new holders and my new plates on my car for me. Nobody does that ! Austin was Awesome ! The inside of the O'Reilly Auto Parts store was so organized, clean, and perfect. I will definitely be going back to see Austin at this O'Reilly Auto Parts store in the future. The headlight on my car went out and I knew I could replace it myself and just needed the light. I wasn't sure which light I needed so when I came here I knew I would need some help. I previously went to AutoZone but was ignored so I was already in a bad mood when I walked in and I knew they would have their work cut out for them. Thankfully, the moment I walked in the door someone greeted me and let me know they would be able to help me as soon as they finished what they were doing. I was willing to wait since someone was kind enough to at least greet me. In the promised time frame someone helped me and figured out which light I needed and I quickly purchased it. I was super thankful for their help and let them know how I felt I had a great experience here after being at AutoZone. I got home and started to change my light and realized I had the wrong light. I went back and they were super apologetic and quickly fixed the issue. I was in and out within 2 minutes and had my light changed in no time. I was super happy with my experience and I know that I will be back. I am happy they are so kind and helpful. read more

My first time coming to this place and I have never had better customer service at an auto shop before! The assistant manager was super helpful in helping me replace my burnt headlights. He came outside to pull the old ones out and went inside the store to find the exact match. After purchasing the light he went outside and even placed the new ones in. I had called other places asking for a quote on replacing headlights and they all quoted me around 150-180$. I only paid 18$ here. Initially, the service was acceptable, however, I was given a bad part which had to be installed in order to know that it was not working. I had to get another part from a different store, since I was not close by. Unfortunately, for me this store has a policy that once you install a part, you can no longer return it, and get your money back. So, as a result I ended up losing $150. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed, and I would advise people to be aware of this store policy, or if possible avoid this store. I promise not to return to this auto parts store ever again. read more

The employees seem to not like helping customers and work with no sense of urgency. My husband was the fourth person in line and witnessed the employees deliberately ignoring the customers. The first guy in line was asking one of the employees to help him he had mentioned he had been waiting a long time. They then told him to go to the back of the line and wait as the employee walked to the back room of the store. The customer said he was the first person here. That customer then walked out and as soon as he walked out the employees were talking about him out loud "Yea that's why your here cause you don't know anything about your car" . Then another employee comments yea that guy wasn't raised right. So they lost two customers that day. read more

Stopped by today and was helped by Brittany. After Pep Boys in Santee tried to screw me on a brake job... I decided to do it myself. Brittany was very helpful, helped me get everything I needed and helped save me money. Brought my rotors in and they were able to turn them for me. They could have lied and told me they needed replaced (as Pep Boys did) and sell me rotors, but she measured them and turned them. $15 each instead of $48 each to replace them. All of the employees I encountered were very friendly. Thank you Brittany and crew... you will be my first call or stop when I need something! read more

I purchased a battery for my elderly mothers car which was a battery brand called "Super Start" . The battery was faulty and is an exclusive O Reilly brand battery. I took the battery in for an exchange or prorated exchange and got nothing but flak from the guy behind the counter. He refused to work with me unless I could prove that I bought the battery from his store. Long story short. I took the junk battery to their competitor as a core and lost out close to $100. I own a lot of vehicles and would rather push my car by any OReilly before I buy another part from them. BEWARE! read more

Normally I have no preference for this O'Reilly's but I have to give Donald an awesome review. I think he only works fridays and saturdays but he was very helpful and saved us $10 (by having us pay for the part in Lakeside with lower sales tax). The part we needed was $300 or $250 but not available except for their warehouses. I'm not sure what he was talking about but we got the only part actually in store within SD and saved money. read more

This place smells like car parts :) Things are easy to find, shelf are clean and stocked.

Human nature seems to complain quickly when things don't go our way, but taking the time for a shout out for GREAT customer service, seems to fall by the wayside. I walked in the store today at 7:45 before closing and the store was busy. I needed a windshield wiper and new battery for my car fab. Small things I'm sure for him, but for me his kindness, helpfulness and willingness to replace and install both replacements, was going the "extra mile". I never asked, he just offered and did it. i just came from Oriley's auto parts on mollison and el cajon blvd in el cajon where two girls were stranded in a hot parking lot with a flat tire they had been run off the road the vehicle they were driving has tin shields over the lug nuts that require a 19mm or 3/4 sae socket found standard on most 4 way lug wrenches when the shields become lose they spin around and you cannot get the lug nuts lose you have to remove the shields to expose the steel 18mm lug nuts no sae equivelant the younger girl asked for my help and i went into the store with her to try and borrow the tools to get them going but the man at the counter told me that he had already tried to get the lug nuts off and he didn't have " all day" to help them he was very arrogant and refused to listen to me as i tried to explain the problem saying quote "i know how to take a tire off "well he was obviously wrong because he could of easily removed the tire with the correct tools so i had no way to help them get the tire changed because i had walked a few miles to get there so i could fix my own vehicle so Oriley's refused to loan them the tools and refused to help them all because of one arrogant parts couter guy's bruised ego leaving the two girls in an extremley hot parking lot to fend for themselves it is for this reason i will NEVER shop at Oriley's again because that is no way to treat anyone read more
