We were recommended to his shop by a friend, We took our vehicle to his shop for a heater core…read morereplacement. We were quoted a fair price and was told that it would take a day to finish. We dropped it off at 10:00 a.m. and when we called the next morning to pick up the vehicle the vehicle was not done. With it not being done we had to incur another day on the rental car. When we finally got to pick up our car he was still working on it and it was not done so we had to wait an additional hour at his shop. When we picked up our vehicle it was extremely dirty and wet from the heater core backflowing inside our vehicle. Our belongs from our dashboard glove box and our middle console were thrown around our vehicle in which they got dirty and wet. We had to call and message him to let him know that the glove box light was on constantly and the glove box was loose. Also our A/C unit was not blowing air out of the vent on the middle passenger side. We took it back to his shop for him to fix it however he fixed the glove box but broke the shut off switch to the a/c vent and now the vent blows air but we can not close it because he broke the lever that closes it. Our dashboard is loose and our cruise control doesn't work. We made him aware of the issues by text and voicemail message but it is very hard to get ahold of him.

I found the parts online for $150 and saw that it would take about two hours to fix according to multiple websites. I would have paid up to $500 for this fix but they wanted to charge double. I used Vannoy's more than 10 years ago and had a horrible experience, so I hadn't been back--until…read morerecently. I developed a bubble in the sidewall of one of my tires, and the Vannoy's location on 9 Mile Road near I-10 was the closest shop. I called and spoke with Mindy, explained what I needed, and she quickly gave me several options. I chose a tire they had in stock and headed over. They replaced the tire, completed a vehicle inspection, and pointed out a few deficiencies--which is pretty standard these days. They provided a price for each repair, but there was no pressure or aggressive upselling. Fast-forward a few weeks: I needed tires mounted on my son's vehicle and the TPMS sensors transferred, and I decided to return to Vannoy's. I received the same great service from Mindy and watched her treat every customer with the same patience and professionalism. At one point, she took a call from what I assume was an unhappy customer regarding work completed under the shop's previous ownership--something neither Mindy nor the current team had been involved with. The way she handled the conversation deserves special recognition. She clearly explained the ownership change, made no promises or excuses, and still went above and beyond. She offered to contact former team members to see whether they remembered the work and promised to personally follow up with management to determine whether anything could be done. If you've read this far, it's probably no surprise that I recommend Vannoy's on 9 Mile Road at I-10--but even more so, I recommend asking for Mindy. She completely changed my perception of the business.
