Walked in on a Wednesday night to grab some oil and a filter. Employee was condescending and unhelpful when determining oil type/amount needed. The employees then proceeded to talk about me amongst one another. The same employee then passively said, "well then go somewhere else!" I don't think I've ever actually had such a rude experience. The staff members here are committed to their customer service. In need of new wipers for my 90s Volvo, which likely had not been changed in over a decade, I was surprised by the helpfulness of the staff. Without even having to ask what wipers to purchase, one of the staff members noticed me approaching the wiper aisle and immediately asked for my car's make and model. He then offered me several compatible options. Additionally, he recommended an all-season wiper fluid that can melt ice and snow on contact. Upon completing my purchase, he accompanied me to my car and installed the wipers himself, which was unexpected and much appreciated. Overall, the level of service I received was exemplary, and I would highly recommend this location to anyone in need of automotive products and services like the wiper install. Dear General Manager Paul, To say that as a resident living in Northgate shopping at O'Reilly here on Aurora Avenue where it's surrounded by prostitution and loiters, I still get treated with kindness and customer service, but my experience the past two days at O'Reilly was just really intrusive. On 7/28/25 at 8:09 pm, I choose to shop at O'Reilly one hour before closing over other auto part stores, I was having issues with my battery, so I was in a midlife crisis. My car was actually malfunctioning. It's all-wheel-drive and I knew I needed to get a battery. The nice gentleman Louis let me know that I can't get returns once the battery is installed, at first the shortness was a little bit uncanny, but after talking with him he provided reasoning for not being able to provide assistance outside of the store to help me install a battery or battery bracket. The customer experience was different, but I had grace for Paul. He helped me complete a battery test. As for your other employee Jennifer, on the next day when I called and asked about picking up my Nissan battery that Oreilly charged me to dispose. She told me the battery was already picked up and gone, then she said she was going to check in the back after giving a description to her, then she told me that the only battery in the back didn't say Nissan, but said some other Auto parts store and she knew how to spell Nissan. She was very short and rude as if I was inconveniencing her to answer the phone and answer these questions. I didn't understand why I deserved the rudeness because I thought she was on the clock to serve me as a customer. Paul, I advise you to train and coach your employee Jennifer to keep her rudeness at home before she clocks in, how she should treat, greet, and handle customers as she's serving them. It's not us customers fault that Oreilly chose this location at 2805 Rainier Ave S Seattle, WA 98144 and its not right to treat everybody that walks in as if they're homeless. I needed a fuel pump for a Ford Freestyle. I paid $170 then $25 for shipping. No one mentioned that there are two fuel pumps for this car. So, naturally - the one they sent was not the one I needed. So a few weeks later I got the other one. We live remote so it was a true waste of time. I'm sure the details would have popped up in their computer so it could have saved us all a lot of time and money. read more

Jeremy at the Oreilly's in Lake City was great! He helped me find the bulb I needed, helped me replace it and noticed some tubing that had fallen off and needed replacement. I fixed 4 small issues for about $60 with one 10 minute stop. It would have cost me closer to $1000 at the dealership based on a $500 quote to change the bulb. read more

EMPLOYEE TRIED TO PHYSICALLY FIGHT ME. This oreillys has the rudest counter staff. Came in yesterday and an employee refused to serve me because he "didnt like the face I was making" and him and another employee proceeded to laugh at me while I'm just trying to buy a socket. Came in today and had the exact same experience with both employees and got gaslit in front of the manager. Then the original employee had to be held back by the other employees as I was leaving because he was threatening to follow me outside. I was told "people who work in retail are just people". I had purchased a new battery for my 2020 Harley Davidson Triglide on Sep 12, 2022 from O'Reilly. For the past month, I have had to have the battery on either a trickle charger or a full charger as it would not start the Trike. I finally pulled the battery today and took it back to O'Reilly Autoparts on Canyon Road in Puyallup. I get there and they do a charge test on it and state it is bad and will not take a charge. He looks it up when I had purchased it and it was on 12 September 2022. He says, "I'm sorry you are 5 days over the warranty" so we cannot exchange it. 5 FREAKING DAYS!!! How about you supply a brand that you stand behind. I was not able to get to it to pull the battery do to work commitments. I have bought THOUSANDS of dollars in parts from them. Just spent over $500.00 not too long ago for my Truck. They have lost my business! I will not go back. read more

I usually love this store... but then I brought an alternator to get tested at the Rainier Ave location, they said it was working perfectly, so I then spent the next 3 days troubleshooting with a mechanic and online forums to solve the problem. I then brought it to a O'reillys to get tested.. and it not working. I bought a new one and installed it. Problem solved. what could have been a 2 hour repair ending up taking 3 days of searching for issues that did not exist.... when the only issue was they gave me incorrect results on the alternator test. I'm not sure how often the results of an alternator test are incorrect.. but very annoying. read more

With regards to the store on Aurora Ave N at 105th St, and the one at 15th Ave NW and NW 53rd street Ballard. I shop at Oreilley's 4-6 times per month for 5 different cars from 1964 to 2014 so I feel I have a broad view of the operations. I have seen very few glitches in their process. They have a tremendous variety in stock and can get more obscure parts some day or the next. The Staff is knowledgeable, frrendly and often very helpful. They dispense information freely which I have found to almost always be accurate. They have an array of diagnostics provided free of charge and with honest reusults, not designed just to sell parts They loan tools, to get most any DIY Job done...again free of charge. The have servaal stores in range to provide even more variety, They improve my DIY abilities several fold. read more

I can always count on this place....it is very icy out and the staff point me to the right direction of getting new wiper blades, rain x, and more de-icer solution. The staff is super friendly, helpful and awesome customer service. The helpful staff came out to installed the wiper blade for me when it is so icy and cold outside. When this location do not have it in stock...they can special order it and will call me when it is in the store for pickup. This place has help me out like today when I was in a pinch and needed those items to drive out in this snowy, icey conditions. Highly Recommended. read more

But, every time I come into this O'Reilly's location, I get the parts I need and the experienced staff tell me how to install them. The alternator in my '91 Subaru Legacy bit the dust, and fortunately these guys had a replacement in stock. I was assisted by David, who was very helpful, both on the phone and in the the store. My only complaint relates to my follow-up visit the next day when I returned the dead alternator for a refund of the core service fee. Upon presenting the dead alternator and the receipt for the new one, I was met with some doubt by the staff, not David, who impolitely informed me (after giving me an up and down look over, followed by the stink eye) that I needed the box from the new alternator to process the core charge refund. I wasn't made aware of this policy beforehand, but fortunately I had the box in the car. No problem. I brushed off the interaction as someone having an "off-day", but it definitely was the tie breaker between a 3 or 4 star rating. Staff friendliness is often a deal breaker in my relationship with any business, but I'd give them another shot. read more

I've always came to this location and had no problems, but ever since that Louis guy got hired I hate going there. He never wants to do anything, when you ask him for help he looks at you like if you ruined his life. If they have a part on the isle he kind of just points and you have to look for it. If it's on the back he would even say he doesn't have it just so he doesn't go back and get it. I've done this inside the store where I call and he asks if you can hold and walks away until someone else answers or you hang up. I would have given zero stars but that's not an option. I've been using this automotive store for all of automotive repair needs for the last year because it's the closest to my house. A week ago I purchased a portable jump start box for my failing battery and when I spoke with the cashier he told me if my battery still needs replacing to please come back. After days I did return to purchase a new battery. I looked up online if they would install the battery and the website did say they would install it. When I got to the store to purchase the battery the man said no they didn't install at this location and the woman behind the counter said with an attitude "what website did you see that on?" I have attached a pic of their website saying they would be happy to install a new battery. Needless to say I left and went to Advanced Autozone where they not only installed the new battery I purchased from them but were very pleasant and courteous about it. I will no longer be giving any of my business to O'Reileys. This is the laziest and rudest group of employees I've encountered in Seattle. read more

This is a dual review for two locations as they're linked in my experience with O'Reilly's: This was the most frustrating experience I've ever had with any type of retail establishment. Maybe it's a Seattle thing because I've never had an issue with their Spanaway/Graham location but have had nothing but nightmarish experiences with their Ballard and Rainier Ave stores. I wanted to replace both of the belts on a Subaru Impreza so I called this store up to make sure they had both belts. They had one and needed to order the other but was told it would be there by 6pm that day. So I go in there at 6pm, the associate I talked to on the phone was gone for the day and am told there's no record of my belt being ordered. Story over? Not even close. So I had the night employee order the belt at the location closer to home, the Rainier Ave store. Meanwhile he tells me I need a tool that they rent out to do this replacement myself. I asked if the other store had one in stock since I'd rather return it there. He tells me it doesn't matter where I return the tool so I might as well get it now instead of the other store already having it rented out. Fine, sounds good. I go to the other location the next day to get the belt they ordered. So after deciding I needed a mechanic to do this job I went to return the tool at the Rainier Ave location just to be told I HAVE to return it to Ballard. I explain I was told otherwise and the associate refused to help me. We leave and call the Ballard location just to be told the associate should have and could have accepted the tool but must not have wanted to call them to confirm I rented the tool from them. Neat. Nightmare story over? Nope. I take the car to a mechanic and he calls me an hour later to tell me BOTH belts are the wrong size. BOTH. Not even close he tells me. He replaces the belts and shows me the difference and wow was he right. So we go to return the belts to the Rainier location and I kid you not the "assistant manager" lady yells at us that she doesn't have to refund us after we tell her how unhappy we were with their service. She completely flips out on us. From now on I'm sticking to AutoZone...and boy do I miss good ol' Schucks Auto Supply. read more

I went in today to return an old battery and waited in line for 30 minutes, when I got to the counter and asked for help bringing it in (my wrist is injured and I didn't want to add more stress on it), the man told me that he could not leave the store to help me bring in the battery. My car was right in front of the store but what he said was understandable when there were 6 customers behind me. I asked him if he could wait so I could bring the battery in myself, he said no and told me I'd have to wait for him to help the rest of the customers. I am a car noob but I found out that O'Reilly's will do a free error-code check on your car if, as in my case, your Check Engine light won't go off. I brought my car here and Dave the manager did the checking. He patiently explained what the error code meant, quoted me the price of various parts that might need replacement to fix the problem, and gave me very honest advice about what to do as well as local mechanic recommendations that made me very happy that I was living on N Beacon Hill as this area abounds with discount auto mechanics. read more

We just got our plate in the morning and, moving from Florida, we never needed or had a front plate on the car. We went to O'Reily Auto Parts to mount the new front license plate to the car. When I walk in I ask for mounting screws for a Honda civic 2006, but before I finish my story the first cashier cuts me off and leads me to a small section saying that the screws are pretty much standard. I'm thinking this is going to be easier then I thought. I buy some screws that seem right to me go into the parking lot and try to install the plate. The screw is too small to fit into the hole. I head back in and tell an older cashier, cashier 2, that the screw didn't fit. He asks for the kind of car and then tells me a precise size and location in the store. With too much into to hold in my head I find the location, a completely different place that cashier 1 told me, but then cannot remember size. I head back to the front but cashier 2 is working with another customer so I tell cashier 3 that I could not remember what size cashier 2 told me. cashier 3 walks me back and tells me that the self threading ones are the best bet. so, again, I grab what looks right to me return the old one and buy the new one and try to install the front plate. again the hole is to big so I head back in. I wait for cashier 2, because it seemed that he was the only one that knew what he was talking about, and grabbed the size he told me. While I'm checking out I tell cashier 2 that I'm concerned that it is not long enough and that the nut is not wide enough. cashier 2 tells me how he used to sell to all the dealerships in the area and give the impression that he knows this will fit. I try to install it and it is too short. I head back in to return it and when talking to cashier 2 again he is convinced that someone has messed with my car and that is why it doesn't fit. The only thing I have to add, that no one ever let me mention, is that the car is from Florida, they don't require the front plate and that is the only reason I can think of that we are having this problem. Then when I got home I start looking around and I notice that many of the cars have a liscence plate holder or bracket that the plate is mounted to. Being form Florida, the car never had this bracket and was what I really needed. My biggest problem is that after the 2nd or 3rd return why did no one come out with me to see what was going on and why did everyone assume they knew what I needed before I told them the whole story. read more

I've been here several times in the past and got decent service. Today, I came in to get error codes read and check about my wind shield wiper motor. The assistant manager was really rude. He must have been having a terrible day because he essentially told me no one was available to help me, then when I went to leave, he got a super attitude and yelled at me. I asked for the manager and was told that I needed to go thru him. Really poor customer service. I went out of my way to go to a different auto parts store even tho this one is next to where I live. The unfriendly staff member that helped me made sure to try to sell me the most expensive bulb for my car instead of asking what bulb fit my needs, which was disappointing. Maybe because I'm a woman I have no idea what they're selling me - oh wait, I managed an auto repair shop for 5 years...oops! I get that it's a liability to help replace a bulb (though to change mine was very simple - I did it later when I had my tools with me.) I just would have liked to have borrowed a tool for a moment so I could get it taken care of right away. The other staff members there seemed friendly and knowledgeable.
