All in all just over 3 days total and my little beater is driving really good again. **Their communications was a little unorganized, different from other shops; I had to call to check in a few times. Great reviews, however... we overheated our Jeep Grand Cherokee on the way to Ocean Shores. It was a Friday afternoon and no one wanted to help us. They told us to come on in.. we told them we were pretty sure it was the thermostat. We went for a walk and came back to them telling us my engine was blown up. We rented a car so we could finish our vacation. We came back on Tuesday and my husband and my son put a thermostat in it working on it in the street across from them and drove it the entire 41 miles back home with no issues. Had a compression test done and there are no issues whatsoever... I don't believe they even looked at it! They told me I should junk it and buy an old suburban from them... They just wanted my jeep! I went for oil change and to fix my seat belt which required them to remove my seats completely. Overall I think they inly charged $100 for it plus $60 for oil change. Very quick service too. Had my daughter bring in my 2006 Toyota Matrix (I was out of town) as my OBD reader said it needed a new front oxygen sensor. They quoted her $120 for the part, and $60 for labor over the phone. After dropping it off, the mechanic called and said it was going to be $185.00 for the part, and $95 for labor. It needed to be fixed, so we just paid the cost which came out to $314.89 (quite a cost difference). This is a basic part to replace. Most experienced mechanics could do it in under 5 minutes. I just checked the Toyota dealer website and the cost for this exact part # is around $106.00. I feel like they took advantage of my daughter and way overcharged. Very disappointed as this shop has high reviews and I trusted that they would give a fair price. To top it off, when I came home to inspect the work, they left the old oxygen sensor under the hood and didn't even dispose of it properly. Pretty sloppy work in my opinion. read more

I expect most shops to look at me as a young woman and think they can charge at least $500 for almost anything and maybe over exaggerate the urgency of a few other problems with my car while they're at it. Last year, I brought my car in during the end of the summer as it had a leak that brought rainwater into my passenger footrest. Also brought it to them as I needed my blinker fixed (the outlet wasn't working, was able to find that on Amazon and change it myself. After $400, SIX visit because they kept either not updating me or what they didn't work, them telling me I need a whole new headlight (when they didn't even know where the blinker was), and then breaking my windshield wipers so now they go over the windshield frame (thanks for that new fun problem, guys!), it's now leaking again now that it's summer. They let the water fill up my passenger footrest completely when I left it there. Lied to me multiple times that it was "fixed". If you want reliability and want to save your time/money, go anywhere else. read more

I was driving through Seattle on a Saturday afternoon when suddenly my dashboard tells me that I'm low on brake fluid. Well I knew that couldn't be right so I immediately thought there must be a leak. I crawled under my car on the side of the road and sure enough my brake fluid was dripping. Called to get a cost estimate and timeline for service on a brake job. Just front pads and rotors, no calipers no fluid flush nothing but pads and rotors. I worked at an auto shop for nearly a decade so know it takes about an hour to do and the parts should be around $300 at absolute maximum. Guy quoted me $700, and when I pushed him on it a bit he got nasty and then just hung up on me. Not sure how this shop is getting so many good reviews. Fast forward to finding Your Family Auto. Diamond in the Rough! Fetene is a true stand up guy. He is extremely genuine and kind. He is honesty and dependable. I first came in because I needed my headlights changed -- shockingly both of my headlights burnt out at the same time. Not common, that means there could be an issue with electrical or the bulbs simply died in coordination. Regardless, instead of charging me to do a bunch of extra work, Fetene did some basic evaluation for me and allowed me to hunt down my headlights in my time and then changed them out for me - only charging for the time spent. Now, he is my family's mechanic for all of our cars. He is extremely friendly and enjoyable to work with. My whole family is always so happy with our interactions with him and we feel so lucky to have found him and his shop. Well the previous reviews hold true. I'm always nervous about going to a mechanic because admittedly I am not a car person. I have had terrible experiences in the past from the nationwide shops and they just burn and churn cars without care or customer service. On the flip side, smaller shops can be a bit more costly just due to not having large inventory to pull from. I have to say, this shop is top notch! Heading to the airport earlier this week my car started sounding like it was grinding metal. I got back into Seattle on Thursday and have to leave again tomorrow (Saturday). He was able to get my car in on Friday and even worked late getting my breaks fixed because he wanted to make sure my car was safe to drive!
