My original battery died after about 5 years yesterday and since Costco wouldn't answer the phone so I could check availability, my coworker called around and found this store carried the battery and would help me install. I didn't get the name of the guy that helped me (receipt said CJ) but he definitely deserves a raise! He took a look at my old battery and quickly figured out that the larger battery I bought (4 year warranty) wouldn't fit in the compartment and exchanged for a smaller one (3 year warranty, bummers), then installed it for me. I don't recommend getting your rotors turned here. I dropped off 2 rotors, they measured and both were within limits. The kids working there ruined one of mine, it had deep patterns cut into it. Both rotors were smooth when I dropped them off, just warped and needed to be cut. They must not have setup the lathe properly. I ended up having to buy myself a new rotor. Excellent customer service here. Hubby had to return my old battery for a new one cause the warranty covers it. We got the battery back in San Diego and the guy looked up hubby's information and said it's already been warrantied but hubby never returned a battery. This was our first time. The guy helping us was super nice and helped us get another battery. He was totally cool. The guy went the extra way to help us. That's what customer service is. The inside of the store was clean and things were easy to find. I was glad they opened up early. Plenty of parking up front. Upon entering the store, the lady assistant manager informed me that no one could assist me because there was no one available to help. However, I observed two individuals walking in the back. Despite this, she suggested I visit either the Ewa or Mililani location for assistance. Just as the conversation ended, someone emerged from the back, and the assistant manager suddenly asked if he could help check my battery.During the battery check, I turned on my car, and it sounded like it was on the verge of dying. To my surprise, I was told my battery was in good condition and that driving it would resolve the issue. Unconvinced, I sought a second opinion elsewhere, only to discover that my battery was, in fact, failing. I got my battery replaced, and my car sounds well now. I understand if assistance was not readily available, but providing inaccurate information about my battery's condition put me in a precarious situation. It's crucial for the staff to be honest, as my nearly stalling car down the street was a result of misguided advice. My father and I went to this location twice today 11/7 to purchase and OBD reader. The first time we went, the reader was in Spanish and already used. When we took it back, their response was to contact customer service to have it reset. They accepted the return and we got another one. Opened it to use it and half of the screen was black. We went back AGAIN and the customer service rep wasn't much help. My father asked for the manager, who then came for the transaction and said absolutely nothing about the situation. I am shocked that they sold us TWO items that were already used, opened, and not working properly as BRAND NEW then didn't even bother to care about the inconvenience this had caused us. We ended up going to the Ewa Beach location where we were assisted, helped, and care for by their staff. Yes, we did get the refund for both nonworking devices, but beware as they are selling bad items. It truly bothers me that the manager of this store could careless about what was happening. No apology or reassurance to fix this issue, just stood there quietly. This store needs to be under better management to avoid these types of issues! I wouldn't recommend going here to purchase expensive items. Buying small parts and things don't seem to be an issue, but beware the bigger items! 16 months and counting. For my old age, I should be taking ginkgo or something like that. So you know I got an app to remind me about my car maintenance. That and Acura of Honolulu sending me reminders. I know you read that review. Well they keep reminding me during the courtesy check to change my filiters and I always said I did it a couple of months ago. Ooh well I forgot to add a year. Yea the app reminded me it's been awhile. Lucky there's O'Reilly's. There's plenty of parking stalls out front and you get the occasional car getting it's fluids topped off or a O'Reilly's member helping someone inspect under the hood. These guys and gals are really helpful. I just walked up to the nearest employee at the counter and tell them what I need. And a few strokes on the keyboard and a stroll to the back, I've got my parts. The people are really friendly and informative. There's a program to barrow specialized tools and score a military discount. Overall four stars. Plenty of parking and friendly service make this a great place to grab parts and get information. Raelyn knows nothing about cars. But what she does know, is when something feels off from her regular routine. My star started to start slower.. When I would turn the key to start the ignition, it didn't start right. So I called my bf to ask how would you know if your car battery is dying... he said he didn't know and just go to an auto shop to get it checked and he told me to go to O'Reilly and I was like okay, bye. So I called before hand just to check the price of my Toyota Corolla battery and she told me it ranged from $129 ~ $159. They definitely check the battery and can install it, depending on the car. I had so many questions. Am I getting the best value for my money? Are there any cheaper places I can go to? What if they can't install it? Will they be nice to me? But I was anxious to getting it fixed out of fear of being stranded on the side of the road stuck in the lane of shame. So I just went. O'Reilly is located near all the auto shops along Farrington Hwy. The roads aren't great and that's the city's problem. Kelii must have been the nicest guy to have helped me. He knew what he was doing, and didn't give me any BS for being a girl who didn't know what I was doing. He was respectful and knew what I needed. During the time he checked my car, he even showed my what they do to check the battery's power. Turned out my battery was 100% DEAD. So he helped me get a new one and even gave me a discount and added on this like thing that would help my battery from eroding or something. So I was like sure. Okay. While he installed it, he told me about how he has a farm on Big Island and loves the country. Great dude. Ask for Kelii the next time you're there. I was there for about 15 minutes or so. Went in to O'Rilley's to buy signal light lens covers for a 2001 Toyota Corolla and they quoted a price of $103 each. They said that it was expensive because it was in demand and being ordered by others and also the west coast strike drove prices up. I didn't realize 2001 Toyota Corolla parts were "in demand" these days. We thought he was full of it so we went into Carquest to see if they had it. They did. For $14 each. SHOP AROUND FOR DIFFERENT PRICES FIRST. If anyone quotes you a price you think is crazy, it probably is. $100+ for 2001 Corolla signal light covers gtfoh. It's 50/50 with the Waipahu Location. It really depends who helps you, but for the most part you're in and out quick. However, over the phone is different. The other night I called before they closed at 10pm, just to ask if they carried a radiator cap that fit my car. I wasn't planning to go in that same night because I knew it was already late, I just wanted to know if they had it. It rang maybe 3-5 times then I heard them pick up the phone and hang up. I get if it was already 10pm and you're tired of the phones ringing, but it was 9:30. It wouldn't have taken long to search for a radiator cap. read more

I was helped by two associates; one of them gave me the best experience (Alex) and the other was by far the worse I've seen (Lucky). I went in for a car battery and windshield wipers replacement. The first worker, Alex who i also spoke with over the phone helped replaced my car battery because I had back surgery. He was so nice cheerful and helpful; this guy demands employee of the month or a raise. He went above and beyond his work. He then told me another guy would help me with the windshield wipers and then went inside. The next employee "Lucky" came outside with a look like he didn't want to come into work today... smug unhappy look. I didn't think twice of it and thanked him for helping me since I had back surgery. He cheered up a bit and replaced my driver side wiper and then continued to the passenger side. Right before replacing the 2nd wiper I watched him and hear a smack against the glass. He must have fumbled and lost the wiper. I thought I saw a crack in the glass but I let him finish. He finished and said "thank you and everything good?" I said thank you and went over to the passenger side and leaned over and saw the crack. I told him it's cracked and he said "ohh shoot, yah shucks it's a small one". The crack did start to expand across the glass and grow bigger as we talked. I asked him, well are you going to cover that. He said ohh sorry no we don't cover that. I continued by saying what?!, you caused it, what you mean you don't cover it. He said I would have to go through my insurance or Safelite. He continued by saying ohh darn that sucks too because safety won't pass you and they will give you a hard time if it's cracked. I told him I wanted to talk to a manager and he said the manager is on vacation so I asked well there's got to be someone in charge, supervisor or lead. He told me ohh that's Alex the guy who helped you before. I went inside and Lucky told Alex what happened and Alex told me no problem and told me write down my info and the manager will contact me when he comes back and they will file a claim and get my windshield fixed. I wrote down my info and Alex reassured me and was very nice and apologetic. I told him no problem, accidents happen. I have no problem with the accident; what I have a problem is the straight lying to my face and unprofessionalism of the employee "Lucky". I totally would've let this played out but my pet peeve is being lied too and the fact he tried to hide the accident and tell me they don't cover the damage, that's the reason why I'm writing the review and will tell the story to the manager. No place of employment should have this kind of dishonest worker on their staff. I expect to hear from the manager in a few days regarding this situation. If you go in to O' Reilys go ask for Alex, don't ask for "Lucky" . read more

If I could give them no stars, I would. The service literally is the shittiest service. My husband and I bought a battery from them a year ago and it crapped out on us. So we brought it back considering that we had two years of warranty on it. They tell us that the battery does not match the receipt printed. Well shit, who's fault is that? That is probably why the battery was completely drained out. Simple solution, give us the right battery. But instead, they said they couldn't do anything about it and to come back on Monday when a manager is in. That didn't make sense, you you're telling me that the store had no manager working that couldn't help me??? That was a completely lame cop out. What is so hard about exchanging the wrong battery for the right one? Especially since it's was their fault?!!! I'm tell you, incompetent workers. Instead, they said something is wrong with the car and buy a new alternator and starter. They are NOT helpful. They are a retail store, not a mechanic. Just do your job and do it right the first time so we don't have to come back and fix a mistake that you made and ruin our car in the process. So the next day, we called another store and was referred to see the Waipahu manager Wayne...thinking that he would help...boy were we wrong. He was utterly useless. He blew us off and said there is nothing they can do. WTF???? People, word of advice...you want amazing service and competent workers, go to the O'Reilly store in Kalihi. I know it's a drive, but totally worth it. Sara in Kalihi exchanged it for the right one. We paid a difference, but it's okay because it was the right one for the car. Harlen the manager was amazing. Big kudos to Alex at O'Reilly's. I originally booked an appt. at Goodyear Kapolei to replace my battery but they said it might take up to 4 hours as they had to get the battery from Waipahu. Called around and spoke to Alex at O'Reilly's. He said they has battery in stock and could install it for me in a few minutes and " I could be on my way". He did not disappoint and went above and beyond helping me. Battery and alternator were checked and new battery installed in less than 15 mins. I needed to replace a headlight before the holiday weekend to avoid any unneccesary pulling-over so the hubby insisted we go and get a light so he could change it. I might change my mind about auto part shopping if it is as easy as it was at Checkers. Not only were we in and out in minutes, but (I think his name was Kalei) offered to change the light which he did very quickly. The hubby nearly declined the offer (what is it with men to deny free service for "man jobs"?) but my good sense overruled his machismo and we enjoyed excellent over-and-above service. *PAID SPONSORSHIP* yes my hubby is fully capable of changing a light (silly paid sponsorship ends) but reasonable females agree:why do manual labor when free manual labor is offered? Came here the other day with my boyfriend because we needed to fix my car. We bought new lights for the taillight, new wires for my headlight, and even a tire fix kit. I don't really know anything about cars so my boyfriend and I asked someone for help with the tire. We were helped by Raymond who was extremely helpful. He asked us what was wrong with our tire and we told him a small nail had punctured it and we needed something that could cover the hole when we take it out. He quickly showed us where the tire kits were. The instructions on the back were wrong, so he numbered them the correct way for us and explained the process. Went there yesterday to figure out why my brand new r134a canister won't dispense Freon into my car. Employee named Terry (hope I got the name right) informed me that I needed a new adapter to be able to let the Freon out of the canister. Cost me only 3.65$. Thinking I was gonna have to spend 27.99$ for a new dispenser or worse yet a whole new Freon set for over 54$. Dam he saved me all that money. All thanks to terry. But the kicker was he went to my car and filled my cars a/c! Mahalos to him for taking the initiative in helping me out. He also refused in accepting a tip from me citing that the company forbids accepting them. So at least he deserves recognition here and via O'Reillys survey. I know there will be times when I visit this store and that of other customers they will encounter different situations with employees and product conditions. To say I've had this kind of luck every time I visit is not the case. There are times my visit would be less than what everyone expects but overall this company does provide exceptional service and products. Only other times I visit the competition would be because of product availability. As for other dissatisfied reviews I am sorry that happened to you. I used to come here about 2-3 times a week, but as the days go by; the worse service gets. Everyone that works here are usually very helpful but when it gets to closing time; everybody just like go home so every question we ask, goes in one ear and out the other. We needed help looking for a part, we purchased, then when it came to returning it because it was the wrong piece, we were given a really weird stare. RUDE. We literally went in one night and returned the day after, and so happens they couldn't find our transaction. After the return, they just left. I don't recall nobody saying bye or nothing. Not even TRYING to help us resolve our problem. Everyone's all loud and cheerful until a customer walks in, and then it just gets AWKWARDLY quiet. I went in to O'Reilly in Nanakuli to purchase windshield wiper blades for my 2010 Toyota Sequoia. I was sold one by Christina only to find out when I got home that it wouldn't fit. Went back right before closing to exchange it and was again assured that it should fit. Well it didn't. The next day I stopped by O'Reilly in Waipahu to return it. Chris asked what was the problem and I explained the situation. He checked and sure enough the part I was sold by Christina at the Nanakuli store would not have fit on my car.
