I called Mr. O'Reilly on a Friday afternoon (before a 3 day weekend) because our main circuit breaker switch had failed. I had turned off the power while troubleshooting a problem with an electric clothes dryer. Frank came over later that afternoon, restored the power, identified and fixed the problem with the dryer (faulty installation) and reconnected the dryer. I told him what I thought the problem was - faulty circuit breaker - and he asked me to text him some photos of the circuit breaker and the outlet it was for. He had me do a few other minor tasks as he tried to assess what the problem was. He said he would come out the next morning and he did. He was able to quickly assess what the real problem was - an old outlet box - and he was able to fix it in a short time. He is a complete professional, from returning phone calls right away to offering great solutions to electrical problems. We used Frank twice last year for our kitchen and mudroom renovation. He installed recessed LED lighting in our kitchen, removed outdated under-cabinet lights, upgraded electrical outlets, and installed electrical boxes for our microwave and disposal. We had a zBoost installed in the building by a friend and the condo association told us that we need a certified electrician to sign off on the installation. Listens to the issue(s), suggests courses of action and then schedules the job. Frank shows up when he says he's going to, does his job in a most professional manner and charges a fair rate for the services provided and he stands behind his work. What more would you ask for, returns your call, shows up on time, does professional work and charges a fair price? This is why we have been with Frank for 20+ years. I have no idea what transpired with the 1 Star review, (sounds like they tried to take the cheap way out by not having a certified master electrician, like Frank, do the job and then it would've been certified by a master electrician wouldn't it not so smart but I'd bet smug 1 star people?) but having dealt with Frank for two decades, our experience has been nothing less than great. read more

Mr. O'reilly served my house in Lexington, MA after the snow storm of November 2011. Service was done after 35 hours I left a message on his phone; the charge was very expensive, under the category of "emergency". He said he had 5 days to show up at the place and I was lucky that it took him just 35 hours to come. The bill came much faster than Mr. O'reily did; no question asked if everything works fine. I called Frank on Tuesday before Christmas with an emergency. He was able to come out that same day and secured my electricity so I could have heat for the night. Frank came back the next day to replace the meter socket box and wiring up the side of the house. All other electricians either didn't call back after leaving a message or said they could come out 2-3 weeks later. 1 said it would be hard to find someone being days before Christmas. Frank did the job, was on time and pricing was reasonable. I would have given 5 stars but Frank does not take credit cards. All in all I was completely satisfied with the work performed on my house. Frank has done a couple jobs for me in my new house. His most recent job was the installation of two Italian made electric towel warmers into the bathroom. He did a fantastic job - mounted them securely and neatly on the wall, wired them, tested them, cleaned up. Ran two 1500W circuits and got it all done in less than a day. In addition he fixed a circuit in the basement which had been improperly installed by a carpenter (my bad, never again). Last year Frank wired our flat panel TV to hide the wires, put 8 shop lights in the basement, installed 2 floor outlets in our living room (fussed around with special floor box I had bought and with getting the location exactly right), installed a ceiling fan in the MBR, a light in an upstairs BR, and some other outlets. Again, he was tidy, efficient and completely trustworthy (had to leave him at the house for the two days he worked - it was absolutely no issue).
