My husband went for pickup and said he wouldn't return. Multiple extremely belligerent people at the bar and made my hubby a little uncomfortable. We got the food home and it was less than satisfactory. Pizza was mediocre. Our wing order was wrong, so our kids couldn't eat anything. Our salad was horrendous. Great thing was the outdoor bar was not packed at all on hot Friday 6pm night (compare to the indoor bar overflowed with people)... ...and also full of friendly chatty locals who decided to pay for our drinks... Tried this place for the first time today, I've heard great things about the pizza and it didn't disappoint. The bar/restaurant is definitely an Irish themed and the owner can't wait to educate patrons on all things Guinness. I love this cool spot! It's a very dive-y, very Irish sports bar that serves a phenomenal bar pizza. It's a tiny place that always has a really good vibe. My go-to is always the chopped pepperoni or plain cheese pizza with burnt edges. I have tried the double "P" special which is pastrami and pickle. It's a very popular pizza and I really wanted to like it, however my taste buds could not get over the pickle + pizza flavor combo. Pretty good spot known for their South Shore bar pizza. The inside isn't big and frequently packed and incredibly loud. Pizza itself was pretty good although their pastrami pickle one didn't have a ton of toppings. The Big Mac one is fun. The combinations they offer are creative but they should probably launch a website because reading off of a Facebook page isn't great. read more

You're just gonna drink hard and lose even harder to their seemingly endless supply of Frosty the Doughman scratch tickets. The beer selection is very minimal, but they are served ice @#$%ing cold. Don't look anybody in the eye while you're in here. Just keep to yourself and keep drinking. Don't order any food. If you absolutely need to look at something, look at the TV. But don't ever ask to change the channel. If you bring your car to this place, make sure you don't park it nose-in against the fence. The owner will make you correct this mistake before you even get a chance to order a beer. You need to park it with your tail-end alongside the street. You'll see. Follow the rules and you'll enjoy this place. It's a worthwhile experience. read more

I've been a fairly steady customer of O'Toole's for close to 2 years now and I can't say enough good things about this place. The beer is served Ice Cold, the bartenders are quick with a refill and are always fun to hang out with. There is a very unique "family" feel to this place. Everyone knows everyone else, and if we don't know you we're going to introduce ourselves and become friends not long after you walk in the door. Despite all of the above, it is the food that really sets this place apart from the rest of the places in town. The specials are always a bargain, and the owners home cooked meals are off the charts. Guinness beef stew anyone, how about some shepherds pie. There was a bruschetta with a homemade sauce for dipping on the special board the other day when I was in and I really don't have the words to do it justice. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten,and I love to eat! Want something a little simpler? Get one of the bar style pizzas, they are very high on my list of go to places for pizza on the south shore. It can get a little loud inside when it's busy, it's a small place with a lot of friends talking at the same time. Parking can be a challenge as the lot is fairly small, but there is street parking up and down Raynor Ave. Ownership has recently added some very nice booth seating if you'd rather sit at a table than the bar. In addition to that they are always tweaking this and changing that in an effort to make the place better for the customers. Overall this is a great small town pub. Give it a shot if you've never been in, and if it's been a long time since you've been in, come on back and get some food. You won't regret it! O'toole's Pub has grown on me in the past year. It is a Whitman townie bar. As far as townie bars go this is better than most. They have good quality entertainment on Friday and Saturdays. The pizza isn't quite up to par with The Venus Cafe up the street, but it holds its own. The beer is cold, nothing fancy on tap...but it's more of a Miller Lite/Budweiser kind of a crowd. They have everything you want in a small bar, big horse shoe bar, a few high tops, golden tee, and a Jukebox that downloads songs. For the smokers they have a side fenced in area. The parking lot is small, but you can park on the side street and not worry about getting a ticket. The bartenders all do a great job. They take care of their regulars, but don't make a newbie feel unwanted. If you're in the area it's a great place to have a few cold ones. read more

Im giving 2 stars because the first couple of times we went here service was decent. Having said that tonight I was given a hard time about using my military ID. Even the guy who looked a little like Chuck Norris, who I think was the manager asked if I had any other form of ID. Then 1 of the bartenders apparently was finish with her shift and sat at the Bar. I have no problem with a girl wanting to grab a drink after her shift but when we are sitting waiting for a drink and two bartenders are shooting the shit next to us oblivious to the fact are beers are finished I'm not pleased. The staff and most of the patrons are not friendly. Was discussing current events with a friend and mind you this was around 3:00pm a "regular" didn't just jump in to our conversation that we are half way across the bar but harassed me! The staff just kept doing what they were doing and ignored what happened because he's a usual. My friend and I ignored him but he was being pretty persistent on letting me know how he felt.
