I had one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time here. I usually expect a certain level of quality when paying premium prices, like $90 for a steak, but this place failed on every single level. The service was awful from start to finish. It took thirty minutes just to get our drinks, and when my drink finally arrived it was wrong because they ran out of the vodka I originally ordered, which took another fifteen minutes to correct; my drink didn't show up until after the appetizers had arrived. My guest ordered a rum and coke but received a glass of straight rum with no mixer and had to ask for the coke separately. The food was just as bad. If you are going to charge $90 for a steak with no sides included, it needs to be perfect, but this was not. The meat was cold, completely lacked flavor, and there is no way it was the prime grade they advertise. If you have been to places like Capitol Grille or 1000 North, you know what a real prime steak tastes like, and this was a distant, poor relation to those establishments. The worst part came when the bill arrived. Our waitress wrapped the itemized bill around the credit card folder and only handed me the top portion to sign, the part that clearly had a line for a "tip." Even with the awful food and the slow service, I still tipped twenty percent on top of the bill. I got home and realized the gratuity was already INCLUDED in the bill I wasn't shown and was NEVER told, and to add insult to injury, when I checked my credit card statement I saw they had double-billed me for my additional gratuity anyway (I reversed the charges). For a restaurant charging those prices, the atmosphere was also extremely casual with most patrons in shorts and flip flops, making it feel like a diner trying to play dress-up with high-end prices. I was one of a party of nine on vacation from New York for a long weekend, and our choice for our nice dinner out was Oak and Ember, Stuart. The moment we walked in I knew that the place was a classic steakhouse experience, from the linen tablecloths to the open kitchen that was emitting the most amazing smells and sounds of sizzling steaks. Our service was really top flight, as our server, Summer, was incredibly friendly and remarkably attentive the entire night. Serving 9 big mouth guys from New York can be a handful, but she was on her game and answered all our questions and kept up with the whole way. Pretty much everyone in our party got an appetizer, a main, multiple sides, and a dessert and every one of us enjoyed our meal immensely. The table ordered three massive tomahawk steaks (each serving two) that made six of my friends very happy. I was going to get a ribeye from the menu but Summer suggested a different ribeye that she said was a better cut and a better value. She was spot on, as I enjoyed every bite of my meal. I also very much enjoyed the ham-wrapped pear appetizer, the shredded Brussels sprouts side, and the flan dessert. All in all, it was everything you want from that "special meal" while on vacation. We'd been waiting all season for this place to open and are so happy to have a Steak Restaurant in beautiful downtown Stuart Florida. We hear a lot of good things about the PSL location and we were really looking forward to eating here. We had made reservations about two weeks before we planned to go so we'd have a good table with a nice window but when we arrived, we were informed that the dining room was full except for one tiny table squeezed in between a bunch of others (facing the outside but not remotely close to a window). The dining room is decorated beautifully but the seating is reminiscent of old Palm Beach where everyone sits very close to each other on a large bench against the wall facing out, and all the regular chairs face the wall. There are 4 top tables tightly scattered throughout the dining room. The room was very communal and not private at all. We aren't snobs but if we really didn't want to share our evening touching elbows with strangers. We opted to sit in the bar area because there were at least a few normal 4 top tables not overly crowded. Most of the tables in the bar are high tops, good for drinks but too small to enjoy a nice meal. So we were seated by the Hostess but given no menus. We waited about 10 minutes to be acknowledge and as a server went rushing by, he said I'll be right there in a minute ok. Sure...no problem. The waiter was very nice but super casual when speaking. Like how are you "guys"? Anyway, we managed to get some menus and had a few questions about a few items. Our waiter seemed surprised that we hadn't been ready to order as soon as he appeared but he dialed it down a bit and he ended up being super nice. My husband ordered one of the suggested cocktails, stating he'd like to order a glass of wine with dinner and I opted for just water. About 10 minutes later we got our drinks and we asked a few questions about their appetizers. We ordered calamari Fritto, charred peperonata, sweet potato chips, aji amarillo, cilantro salsa verde but we didn't get plates so we had to ask. The calameri was just ok. That kind of started a trend because we had to "ask" for pretty much everything that should have been on the table as we arrived. The bread was warm but little semi stale rolls were brought to us again with no plates and after the appetizer. We began eating the app and about 10 minutes later the waiter said "wow, you've eaten that already?" Seriously?? So, that being said we ordered our dinner after inquiring about a few items. I was truly craving a good filet so I knew right away what I wanted. I ordered the 6 oz filet ($48) and because mine was a la carte', I also ordered the sweet potatoe with thyme infused honey and chilis ($11) which sounded interesting. My husband wanted a ribeye but the only offering was a huge tomahawk or porterhouse for ($155), or the chefs creation, which was a 14 oz. boneless ribeye, charred endive with green chimichurri . ($52) Both were ordered with temps of Pittsburgh Medium. The bar was pretty full at about 6pm and everyone was dressed really casual in shorts etc which was nice to see but I thought this was a upscale restaurant. While we waited for our meal, we talked more with the waiter and with the dining room manager about how things were going since the opening. They were both super nice and very talkative. We asked if either had been to the Capital Grill or Morton's and sadly enough neither had even ever heard of those restaurants. (I think the entire crew could learn a few things about great food and exceptional service by visiting either place.) At that point, our appetizer dishes still were not cleared from the table and the entree's were now being served. It was ok but seriously when paying these prices, you'd expect better service. My steak was placed in front of me by a food runner and she asked if I'd cut it to be sure it was cooked properly and it was perfect. My husbands ribeye came out shortly after but it wasn't charred at all. He politely said he'd eat it that way because by now he was hungry. I have to say the presentation of food was very lackluster and nothing to rave about and the food itself was average at best. My filet was tasty but very chewy and my husbands steak was good but super spicy. The waiter said it wasn't supposed to be spicy and he'd relay the message to the kitchen. Time for dessert and YEP we had to ask for a menu. We shared a creme brulee' which was ok but overcooked a bit. The cappuccino arrived in about 10 minutes and again the waiter said, "wow, you ate that already? Let me buy you another one". We said no thank you it was fine., just the check please. So yes, this is lengthy but I feel it had to be said. This is just another average restaurant with high prices with a captive audience of tourists. So sad, but I don't think we will be back anytime soon for a steak. We may however; stop in for a burger or sliders the next time we are downtown in shorts. read more

Had a great experience here! This used to be an awesome Italian restaurant, and now it is an awesome steakhouse. Wifey and I shared a Tomahawk! Big steak and we had plenty to take home for leftovers. The S'Mores dessert was awesome as well. They torch it right there at the table, and while I was hoping for a dramatic fire, our waitress was just too competent. Excellent service. Excellent food. The hearts of palm salad was flavorful and bountiful but overdressed. The pork belly appetizer was a little dry and stringy. The pork chop was cooked to medium temperature, but it still tasted dry. The steak was ordered, medium rare and came out black and blue. They took it back and cooked it properly. It was flavorful. Our biggest disappointment was that we had asked our waitress on more than one occasion to check with the front desk to make sure they were aware that we were eating in the bar area instead of waiting for a table outside. I woke up this morning and found a note from Open Table asking us why we missed our reservation. We didn't miss a reservation. We showed up early and the reception area sent us to the bar to wait and mentioned the first come first serve tables at the bar. Both the front desk and the waitress couldn't manage to let Open Table know that we had arrived Otherwise, our waitress provided great service. I ordered the rib eye on the menu priced at $60. I figured at that price it should have been a quality steak. I have dined at Charley's in Tampa and never left disappointed. The price is comparable to Charley's and Ruth Chris but that is as far as it goes. I don't know how they could serve that prime cut and expect a customer to pay for it. I am very mixed on this restaurant.. I was going to leave a higher star / better review after my first night there, but after tonight my opinion has changed. First night (photos below) I had shrimp cocktail ($9 per shrimp) and sea bass ($52) yes, quite expensive, especially for Stuart Florida, but I am down from Manhattan and wanted a luxury experience so don't mind spending money if worth it. The food did deliver on that, but the interior lacked that luxe feel (fake stone tiles) had no view of the ocean (just the valet parking lot) and the glassware felt like plastic from a pool deck, not fine china. Either way, I was still pleased with the food, so didn't mind paying the high prices. Damage was around $165 (got extras for my mom) and I like to round up on my 20% tip so my total was $200. Why I went back? I don't know! Went back with my mom, had two soups (lobster bisque and split pea) a shredded beet salad, chorizo sausage side, two house Chardonnay's and two Tito's martinis. Everything was decent, Sausage was best, beet salad was extremely bland, tasted more like rehydrated beets than fresh beets, and the soups were ok. I was shocked when the waiter brought the check and conveniently told us that 16% service fee is automatically added to the bill... this plus the $21 martinis (I pay $20 at some of the best restaurants in NYC) explains the $146 bill for such a basic meal. I asked if that was the same for the bar (which is where I sat two night earlier) and he said yes. And this made me quite angry. I have no problem taking care of a service fee and in fact always tip 20% plus. But to know that two nights ago, I paid close to 40% in tips because no one told me about this automatic fee, makes me livid. It's one thing to over charge for one of the few quality places in town, but to charge that service fee without telling someone feels wrong. Won't be back read more

The Cocktails were So Beyond Delicious. They were Outstanding. The Wine is of Excellent Selection. For my first time Appetizer I Ordered the Fried Lobster Tail. It was out of this World Specular. I loved it so much I had it again with my Generous Sized Ribeye Steak. Which was Perfectly Seasoned & Perfectly Cooked. The Sides I chose were Scalloped Potatoes which comes in it's own dish put on the table in front of you. I also chose something I wouldn't normally Order which is Brussel Sprouts. I will get them every time I go here. The Dessert I had the Creme Brûlée which was Creamy and Perfect under the hard shell of Torched Sugar on top. But the Big Hit is the S'mores. What a Treat. The Chocolate is the Best I have had. What makes it extra Special is Our Server came to the Table yo Torch the Marshmallow on top.if that wasn't enough we ended with a Espresso Martini. Let me start by saying that I'm a Kyle G fan. I was also a fan of Gusto and Louronzo and was curious to see what they did with the place. It's nice. Plenty of staff. They kept the open kitchen and expanded the dining room. We went early on a week day expecting to sit at the bar. Wrong. The Stuart mummies had already filled the room (do they have an octogenarian special?) We sat at a high top, cramped. Any way we ordered cocktails and sat. And sat. Finally our Martinis arrived and we loosened up. All of Kyle G's food in all of his locations is good and this joint is no exception. We had Lamb Empanadas that were great. The Gambas with garlic and potato was outstanding also. The Happy Hour menu had a nice selection of dishes. Listen, I know I'm going to pay and I don't mind. I drink top shelf. We've been waiting for this restaurant to open for a few months now and had the chance the visit on Oak and Ember's opening day. We made reservations for 8:30pm and we were seated within 2 minutes of arrival. At first glance, I thought the layout resembled an upscale Asian restaurant with all the red and gold decor. Average age of customers seemed to vary between 30-50 years old. Our waiter came to visit us promptly and made sure everything was perfect. We ordered the "Nosh Board" for our appetizer, it was a superb selection of charcuterie. For our drinks, we ordered a Paloma and a Pineapple Mule, both drinks were very light on alcohol. We also ordered some wines by the glass, a rosé and a Kyle G Cabernet Sauvignon. As for our entrées, we ordered a 10oz Filet Mignon Pittsburgh style, medium rare, and a Bricklayer Steak Ribeye, medium. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. Upon serving, the Bricklayer Steak was warm, perhaps waiting for the other meal to finish. Bricklayer Steak came with a couple sprigs of roasted endive and smashed potatoes. The Filet Mignon doesn't include a side, unfortunately. As for dessert, we ordered a Flan and a Tiramisu, both were rich and worth getting again. After each course, our tables were cleared and given new utensils. As with all Kyle G restaurants, expect the 16% service charge, which is supposed to go straight to the waitstaff. Things that stood out: The restaurant manager checked in on the tables around us and engaged with the customers, but never checked in on us, only a quick head nod. read more
