If you are expecting to eat good corn beef and cabbage here, you are sadly mistaken. It wasn't cook long enough. The cabbage was crunchy and corn beef was just ok. It was there special of the day for $18 and a beer for $5.50. The service wasn't great, just one person and running pretty much and never gave us a second look until it was time for the bill. I was very disappointed, but my company I was with made it better. I won't be back. read more

The atmosphere and staff, especially the owner, were awesome. We had a good experience. Mid-day beer on tap was $5 and it was a busy lunch day. My buddy got a blue cheese hamburger and really enjoyed it, even referenced it again a few hours later. I got the sopapilla and it was covered with cheese, sauce (I think it was green Chile), lettuce, and tomato. It wasn't bad, but I wish the beef was better seasoned, it would have really made the meal. I will try this place again if I stop into town and get a burger. Clean and friendly upon entry. This is a small town with not a lot of anything open when we went. The bartender was also our server. There were only 3 tables including us. We opted for the Monday special which was chicken fried steak. It reminds us of school lunch honestly. Just okay. I also got the beef and bean sopapilla. It was okay. I really wanted to like this place. The owner is really friendly and the locals seem to like it, but we didn't like our food. The burger is so greasy the bottom bun was soaked through and neither of us felt too good later that evening. I'm not going to give up just yet. We will try again and see if we like something else. read more

We waited over 70 minutes and never got our food while several tables and bar patrons that came in well after us received food, ate and paid. Waitress was kind and apologetic, but no real explanation of why things were so backed up or out of order. We finally gave up and left. The food we did see come out looked and smelled good. I thought this place had good food and frankly a weird atmosphere when we here there. We stopped in after a day in Florence shopping and wanted late lunch/early dinner. Lots of people at the bar, but we took a booth. When the waitress came over I wanted a beer so I asked what they have on tap. She said "we don't do that". OK, that is fine. Then she just stared at me. No beer list or help as to what they do have. I was like Bud light? (since that is about as generic as you can get). She left and got a couple for my husband. We ordered and I did a beef stuffed sopaipilla. I thought the green chile and overall taste was great. Honestly, food was good. We didn't stick around for another drink and just kind of ate fast and left. It was the only time I have ever felt like a weird outsider when going to Florence! Street parking on main street. This is a day late as I felt this needed to be written. Overall I love this place. It's close to home for me and the food has always been spot on. Staff is mostly friendly and I've never had issues taking my service dog there. The one time I got asked if he'll stay under the table which of course is a yes she was happy. But yesterday I had an odd experience, before I go into what I ordered. I was sitting, with a friend, at the first booth near the jukebox and was literally overhearing what seemed like either the manager or shift lead berate her employee, my waitress. In front of everyone, granted there weren't any other booths being occupied at the time. But because I was closest to the bar and kitchen, I heard everything. Kinda made me uncomfortable and I didn't want to interfere as it was a disagreement that I didn't know the facts to. Or was privy to. You could tell our waitress was physically shaken and seemed dejected some. This was evident. So now I'll get onto the food. Pros: I ordered the fried mushrooms as an appetizer, they came out perfectly cooked with a side of ranch. My main entree was the large beef and bean burrito smothered with no tomatoes and extra onion. They made it exactly as I wanted. Which they rarely mess up. Burrito is a 10 inch and very filling. I ended up giving our waitress a bigger tip because of what she had to endure and because she did a great job overall. Cons: No issues with the food. Only thing I got to say to the manager or whoever she is, don't treat your staff like they are nothing. The waitress seemed new as I haven't seen her before, or I've been there and she's been working awhile. Who knows. Recommended: Absolutely. You'll have a great selection of menu items and pretty nice staff. Most days they are almost empty so you really get that one on one attention. You really can't go wrong with here. read more

We were looking for somewhere to go eat and relax and have a couple beers before making the long drive back to Denver. This place was just weird. The food was good - I had a burger. It was cooked the way I asked and had some yummy flavor. Since they have "Tavern" in the name we thought it would be a great place to grab a drink. Wrong, weirdly. We asked what they had on tap and they said they don't have tap, then just stared at us. No alternatives or beer menu or anything. We finally ordered a Bud Light, she brought it and then never came back again. Very weird vibe here, so we scarfed our food and left as quick as we could. read more

I went for lunch with my husband on Thursday, August 25th. We ordered: Cheese Sticks (menu says you can choose ranch or marinara, but they have stopped serving the marinara): Very good Philly Cheesesteak: Honestly the best I've ever had! The fries that came with it resembled those of McDonald's in appearance, but the taste was more bland. Be sure to add salt! Double Cheeseburger with Egg and Bacon: This monstrosity was about 4" thick! The patties were juicy; the bacon was crisp, but not overdone; husband was very impressed Our waitress/bartender was Mandy. She was very friendly, and checked on us regularly. The place was clean and in good repair. They have booths, tables, and plenty of space at the bar. The have a pool table, 2 TVs, and a touchscreen jukebox. I don't know about how it is after hours, but I'll definitely return for a meal. It's a little more expensive than a burger joint, but it's well worth it. read more

Went to get dinner after a restaurant down the street had an hour wait. Walked in and it was pretty sparse as far as people, so wondered. However we ordered hamburgers I had a double cheeseburger my girlfriend had a single cheeseburger. The burgers were great!! Cooked to perfection and juicy. Fries were perfectly done, I would've mine well done my girlfriend ordered hers normal and they were correct on both accounts. We were looking forward to Mexican food and came in around 7:30pm Saturday night. Says the kitchen is open until 8...as soon as we sat down she came over and told us the kitchen would be closing soon so we needed to get our order in. Couldn't have Mexican food because she was sure how much green chili was left so best just not to order that...she pretty much told us we should just order a hamburgers. All around us cleaning was going on...at 7:35p they were ready to be out of there and didn't seem pleased that we ordered food! We ordered fried mushrooms, which were awesome, and when the cook stepped out from the back we told him they were really good...He looked at us like we were bothering him and GRUNTED at us. Talk about being made uncomfortable coming in for food. The hamburgers were ok but we probably won't come back to try the Mexican food. Wouldn't want to put them out again. read more
