Husband fell fracturing femur. The care he received was so fantastic. Every room was clean from the emergency room to his 6th floor room. From the nurses to transport staff were all caring and patient and prompt whether drawing blood or carrying him down for tests. I didn't meet any of his doctors except those at admitting- rounds are so early I would have had to dorms night in order to catch them. Only thing, and what hospital doesn't have complaints, was the food. They brought him roast beef one evening for dinner and we thought it was meatloaf! lol But the desserts were quite tasty.

Nurses are incredible . Came in for chest feeling tight . Stuffy nose also but not hear for that Monday 9:30 all said and done DR said everything was good looking for an echo Tuesday . Well that came and went . No DR all day . Its now 5:45 am on so if i dont get echo today we will definitely know there just padding that insurance bill . Was told 3 times yesterday i was gonna be out soon . If i didnt have insurance i would have been gone already . I hope i can turn this to 5 stars . Again nurses are incredible . But not alot of info . Answer to where is my echo .its on order . Lol you think anything with heart would be done quicker .it turned out to be well.

Not returning here if I can help it. Make sure you bring a patient advocate or healthcare professional with you if you have to be seen here. It appears healthcare has changed more than I thought and NOT for the better. This is one MAJOR reason I have returned to work for the military and now doing one-to-one nursing where I can provide the exceptional care I believe patients deserve 100% of the time... good days and bad. HCA certainly has NOT changed for the better and I can see why my niece (also an RN) advised against me working here per diem. My son was being seen here after an injury requiring stitches. Naturally, he was having some pain and didn't want to bother anyone. He was also cold, and didn't want to call for a blanket. I helped myself to some 4x4 gauze and elevated his arm to decrease further swelling and hopefully discomfort to the area. I looked in the cabinet and found two fitted sheets: one I rolled for the back of his head and another one to elevate his arm. Lauren, PA-C, in the ER here: I hope you are just having a bad day because you leave a lot to be desired!!!! Should the patient's mother have to greet YOU and also ASK you for YOUR name and WHO you are??? If I am correct, HCA has had you complete online training on customer service, right? You asked him to wash his hands after numbing the site, Thank God my son only needed stitches today, but given his age (19) he was roomed in Pediatric room. I would think working in "Peds" would naturally develop your compassion and communication skills. You left a sterile field right next to the sink. Had I not been here with the experience to know, my son would have possibly contaminated the site without your awareness. I will be submitting a survey and I hope your supervisor/administration will have a good talk with you and your staff.

I had a slight accident and bumped my head. The ambulance brought me to Oak Hill They took care of me. They me over and they said they're gonna have to keep me overnight. I was a little nervous and apprehensive because of the horror I heard about Oak Hill Hospital, but the care that they gave me could not have been better anywhere else. They took me right in they said they had to keep me overnight and they took excellent. Excellent care of me. I thank everybody on the fifth floor nurses doctors all the staff took excellent care of me and I wish them the best. My name is James catalinaFlorida.

Quality of nursing care is inconsistent! It can be good one day and scrappy the next!

The worst place to go to. There is no privacy at all in the ER and they gave my diagnosis in a hallway for others to hear.

We were in route to an urgent care…read morewhen I saw the hospital sign and told John, you know..... a hospital would be a better idea. Good thing he agreed a half mile later! I turned around and off to the ER we went. John got "fast tracked", not that it's fast- it just really means they know going in that he won't be admitted. It took a while to be taken back- he was triaged in the front pretty quickly though. Once back- they sent xray fairly quickly and then we waited. A couple hours later the nurse walked in with discharge papers and we laughed because he hadn't seen the doctor- who strolled in just as we were saying that. John's like, so it isn't broke? and this time the doc laughed- oh it's broken alright! He ran through the diagnosis and that John needs to follow up with an orthopedic, to rotate taking ibprophen and Tylenol and ice, ice baby. And we were gone.

Anthony (RN), Taniya (Case Manager), Dr. Hasan, "CC" (Med Tech), and Martha (Therapist) should all be ashamed of the way patients are treated here. At intake, I was explicitly told that my latest discharge date would be Friday. When Friday arrived, I was then informed--without justification--that I would be required to stay an additional three days. I do not have a history of substance abuse involving hard drugs, nor do I have any violent or criminal background. This was my first experience in a facility of this kind, and the lack of transparency and disregard for patient autonomy is unacceptable. During my stay, I experienced what I consider neglect and mistreatment. Physicians were largely absent and failed to conduct proper evaluations. The conditions were unsanitary my bathroom remained smeared in feces for three days, forcing me to avoid using it altogether. This is not only negligent but a serious health concern. Staff members frequently spoke to patients in a dismissive and demeaning manner, demonstrating a clear lack of empathy. I was also placed in situations where I had to disclose sensitive HIPAA-protected information in public areas, which is entirely inappropriate and a violation of patient dignity. While admitted, I developed strep throat and was informed by multiple nurses that they were unable to provide medication. This level of inaction toward a clear medical issue is unacceptable. Upon discharge, I was also not given any prescriptions or medication due to being released "AMA". The staff continued to threaten me with sedation and restrain though I had never cursed and expressed I did wish to be violent or belligerent. Additionally, the facility itself is poorly maintained and offers little to no meaningful resources for patients to engage in therapeutic or constructive activities throughout the day. It gives the impression of a system more focused on financial gain than patient care. What is most troubling is the apparent normalization of these conditions by the staff. Patients seeking help deserve professionalism, respect, and proper care not neglect and disregard. I intend to formally report this facility to the appropriate authorities, including the Florida Disability Rights organization, and will be pursuing further action. This level of care should not be tolerated. You all should be ashamed!!!!! I wish you nothing but the spiciest of diarrhea :)
