Like most senior living residences, this one is under staffed in both administration and care units, but everyone seems ok waiting for things to get done when there are smiles and hugs and good humor. Rosecastle does not have a theater or a tavern or a swimming pool or ballroom. It has a lobby and activity room, and a nice dining area for assisted living patients or memory care if their families are there to take them. The food is not glamorous, but it is nutritious and plentiful, and is better than my Mom cooked when she was cooking for herself. So thanks, Rosecastle, for giving Mom a safe place to live with people around that really care for her, and where I am welcomed when I come and visit.

We pulled him out against doctor's orders, was told they would not write scripts for Rx, or physical therapists, or nursing care at home, and was told by this facility to do so was a $20,000 mistake, as Medicare would not pay for his stay (1-800-medicare and they confirmed they would, indeed, pay). Two staff members are to care for, bathe, feed, clean up after, and so on, 15 elderly who need a lot of support. The food is extremely unhealthy. No fresh vegetables and no fresh fruits. Most foods are greasy and overly salted. "Fruit" is canned and mixed in cool whip substance, and vegetables are from a can. Medical decisions are not in line with current medical protocols. If you place someone here, consider supplementing with a private assistant. Many of the reviews are culled as soon as someone places a person at the facility. Reviews are not offered after residents have been at the facility for a while. After my parent passed away, we did not receive a card or any kind of acknowledgement.

My family was so lucky to have found Pat's Serenity Home Care!…read more My 85 year old mom had dementia, was falling down a lot, and became too much for my dad to handle. We first met Pat and Michael on their wedding anniversary and they canceled their plans to take my mom in their lovely home the same day. They provided snacks and healthy home cooked meals, activities to help keep my mom and other residents engaged, and top notch care around the clock. Pat & Michael rented a van over Christmas and took my mom out to see the pretty lights. They celebrated her birthday with flowers, presents and decorated their house. During a hurricane warning, they invited my dad to come stay with them. My family and I were always welcome to visit and stay however long we wanted. They regularly sent us pictures and texts to let us know how my mom was doing, which was really sweet. Being in a private, loving home is so much more welcoming than a sterile facility. Towards the end of my moms life, Pat was feeding my mom every meal and trying to keep her as comfortable as possible. They treated my mom and family with kindness and respect, and we are forever grateful. I can't say enough great things about Pat's Serenity Home Care. Everyone should take lessons from this assisted living facility.
