I am so blessed by how well I was taken care of at Oak Knoll's Goldsmith. I went in with my engagement ring and wanted it turned into a pendant. It was not just any pendant I wanted...I wanted something custom made off of a picture I saw on Etsy. They agreed to do it, taking copies of the pictures I wanted, and within a month between a quote and creation, it was completed. It is so stunning I almost cried when I saw it. They bought the gold from the band from me so that brought the cost down of the pendant and then sold a gold chain to me heavily discounted to compliment it. I needed a battery for my watch, and Walmart will not install batteries in case they damage the watch. I came here and they charged me $10 and installed the battery and set my watch to the correct time. Do not allow the looks of this little shop scare you away. The people, customer care and quality are second to none. We've used Oak Knolls many time for jewelry repair, watch batteries, and watch repair. Recently asked them to repair a wedding ring that had lost a stone. They took the time to rebuild the prongs, adding some reinforcement to make it stronger. The outcome was better than the original and the charge was surprisingly reasonable. They're typically not open on Saturday but came in meet me at the store when a travel delay forced me to miss a Friday pickup appointment. Good people. Good work. read more

I've had rings sized and jewelry repaired and the work is always timely and well priced. A few years ago I decided to have my wedding remade. I felt it was important to keep and reuse my own gold, my request was met without hesitation. But my favorite part of that experience was when he assured me that he intended to work quickly on my ring because he "doesn't like to see a woman without her wedding ring". They said they could do it but it would probably be a week since he was working on a large project. They called me 2 or 3 days later to say it was ready for pick-up. It was $20. If I could give this place less stars, I would. I have never been so disappointed with not only the service but the what I was told after the fact. After simply paying for a ring to be resized, it was picked up. After leaving, we noticed that there were scratches on both the pearl and band, as well as the pearl having been dented. When I called to ask about the damage, I was asked to bring back in to be polished, with the woman on the phone saying scratches and dents to a brand new piece of jewelry ARENT damages? And then went to to say that "well I mean jewelry is going to get damaged eventually anyways". At this point I don't even want to take it back in. I not only want a full refund but wish I could replace the one of a kind, hand made ring to begin with, but I can't. I will never take anything back here. We buy and sell quite a bit of jewelry and I'll never make the mistake of trusting this place again. read more

Well I took my wedding band and engagement rings in to another jewelry business (Diamond Designs in Pismo Beach) to have them resized late last year, and was not happy with their service or the fact that the rings came out the wrong size. Since I wrote a bad review for the other business (and I had them re-resized at Oak Knolls), I decided I would write a good review for the business that helped me to fix what the other business couldn't do. I took my rings in to Oaks Knolls Goldsmith for resizing, they were friendly and straight forward in their prices (and reasonable prices as well). They helped me to find the right size and gave me a ticket with my information. They said they would call me when they were ready for pick up and told me when an estimate as to when they would be ready. They also welcomed me to call if needed. They resized them and called me right around the time they said they would take to be ready. I got my rings without any hassle and they were actually the right size. Based on my experience, I recommend Oak Knolls Goldsmith. Also as a side note, the rings didn't even look like they were resized at all after Oak Knolls (no weird bends or creases in the metal). The first time I went in they replaced my wedding ring setting cleaned, dipped and polished for very low cost. So when I needed my husband's wedding band fixed two day before Christmas I thought I would give them a try.
