In a word, predatory. My fiancee and I went here after an accident which totaled her car to find a replacement. We had a good down payment, as well as a generous price range. The first sign something was crap was when we browsed the (tiny) parking lot for a full 15 minutes without anyone being visible, let alone approaching prospective customers. When we went inside, we were given quizzical looks by two of the staff who asked what we wanted. I bit my tongue on the response of "I'm here for spaghetti," and instead shared that we were looking for an SUV, preferably low mileage, and gave our price range. We'd seen something perfect online at Stoops just down the road, and wanted to shop around. The "salesman" listened to all of this with a sheepish look on his face. After telling us that they loved helping people with no or bad credit, or folks with bankruptcies, he told us in a quavering tone that he would need to run a credit check before he could tell us any prices. At that point I recognized them for what they were, bid them good day, and we left. Businesses like this scope out your income to see the maximum payment they can charge you, and are known for not only overcharging, but repossessing and reselling the cars to more vulnerable people. As someone who lived in an economically vulnerable situation for years, I find these practices immoral and inhuman. We went to Stoops, were approached immediately, and got a certified preowned SUV at a steal of a price. We highly recommend it. read more

I hate this place. They treat people like crap. DO NOT buy a car from here. I was 18 and didnt have any credit so I went here...big mistake. They completely screw you by charging you too much for a car that will break down at LEAST once a month. They do not care about you once you sign the papers. The guy even cussed me out after I complained that my car kept stalling out...5 days after I got it no less! I have since payed the car off and bought a new one from a reputable dealership. I would rather walk or ride the bus before buying a car from Oak Motors. I have no respect for how the treat customers. read more

Avoid this place! Their sales team is predatory and will require you to fill out paperwork before they will even talk to you. My fiancé and I went there today. We browsed the lot for about 15 minutes and no one came out to ask if they could help us. When we entered the office, we were given a greeting that was cold and stiff at best. We tried to talk to the salesman about what we needed and our budget and he just gave us some rehearsed lines. He wouldn't even give us any details or pricing unless we agreed to a credit check. I have pretty decent credit and I didn't want to take a hit on my credit score if he couldn't even tell me if the car was in my price range. I recommend going to a bigger lot like Stoops. You can get a newer, nicer car for a fairly decent price - not to mention that they'll actually disclose the price before potentially lowering your credit score. The Stoops sales and financing team is also nicer and far more helpful. read more

My 19 year old daughter, her mom and grandma went to buy my daughter her first car back in June of this year. I just recently found out how much my daughter had paid and I am disgusted to say the least. Can anyone from oak motors tell me why my daughter paid 11500.00 for a 2009 Ford Focus with roughly just over 100000.00 miles. Kelly bluebook lists it between 5200.00 to 6500.00. My bank will give 5800.00 max. But somehow the 11500.00 was financed through THEIR loan finance company. Not to mention the 19.8% finance they charge on each loan. That's roughly a payment of 160.00 every two weeks for four years. So all said and done she will pay 16500.00 for a nine year old car. Pretty rough for a 19 year old that just wanted a car to go back and forth to college and work. From the reviews I have read about the dealership. Brian the salesman and Bob were very knowledgeable and ethical but I see this as unethical and taking advantage of people not knowledgeable about car prices and finance. BUYER BEWARE with the above payment and two more years on a loan from a reputable finance company you could buy a NEW CAR. read more

my wife bought a car from this place and was lead to beleive she was paying 7000 for it and after all said and done the paperwork said 15,000.00 some odd dollars and change not only on top of that we had some problems with the car getting oil in the intake had it looked at by myself and two other mechanics all said the same thing about it had blown head gasket or bad oil rings car smoked a few times when starting in morning and sometimes strarter would drag real bad ,, called them and there service center and they said car had to break down or engine light had to be on before they would do anything so callled again and complained they said DRIVE IT TO INDIANAPOLIS , come on the car is messing up why would i drive it to indianapolis they got crappy with my wife over it and told her she would have to pay 50 percent of the repairs heck no i said not on a drivetrain warranty she has only had the car not even a month , we went somewhere else and bought a car and returned this one to there lot i would not nuy anything from there or advise anyone else to do so either they treat people like crap after they have your signature and deal is closed they are out to get rich quick BUYER BEWARE OF OAK MOTORS , MUNCIE , INDIANA read more
