Service was great but very limited menu and very small adult beverage menu. Food was very greasy, and it was half a sandwich, soup was flavorless also. I'll only go back if I get asked to meet a friend there, so not by choice

Super awesome spot, great music playlist, waitress/bartender was kind and courteous, and the food was better than described. The atmosphere was fantastic for a Friday afternoon, would recommend to anyone in the Jackson area, or people passing through.

Upper deck club on the local onion bun. Sub out croissant. Super good. Very welcoming atmosphere.

This place is a hidden gem! Seems like a local hangout with great food, it's very small and tucked away on a residential street. The food was AMAZING! I had the voodoo chicken sandwich with truffle fries and it was delicious. The truffle fries come with a molasses mayo and I would eat those every day if I could. They even have an outdoor covered patio, highly recommend this place

Literally, some of the best service I've ever experienced including the FRIENDLIEST staff. We were first timers and they recommended their burgers and salads, along with their fish fry specials. My eyes went to the soup and they were sweet enough to let me sample a few and even mentioned a soup flight as an option! The seafood chowder was bomb. Savory with a little sweetness and hearty for a winter night. Big honorable mention to the white chicken chili which was creamy and packed with flavor. I ordered the Voodoo chicken sandwich which comes on a homemade onion bun (all their bread sourced from a nearby bakery). It had grilled chicken smothered in hot sauce and it was good...but I'd be interested in trying something new. Honorable mention to the burger and the Reuben. Their corned beef looked top notch and I was envious of a friend's order. Again, stellar service! They have probably 10-12 tables and seem to do a solid amount of to-go orders as well. We will be back!!

Had the Voodoo Chicken sandwich with homemade chips with dill. Very good and flavorful. The waitress, Amanda, was extremely helpful in giving me ideas. Sat in the patio and it was very pleasant and relaxing place to eat.

My husband and I are from Jackson MI and always loved the oak tree. It's an understated restaurant with great food, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Their outdoor patio is a great place to relax and enjoy a cocktail while listening to some live music. We make sure to stop here whenever we're back in the area. I've never had a meal I didn't like!

Great burgers and everything else. Amazing service and value. Why would anyone go to a chain when this an option. Soups and side done well.

Mostly extended weekends when everyone is back in town to see family and friends. During the day, week, and a lot of weekends, it's just your typical less populated dive. They only accept cash, so you have to be prepared for that, but the drinks are ridiculously cheap and they don't skimp on the pour to make up for it. Cocktails... not really their specialty. This place is used to beer drinking regulars and people who want their liqueur straight up. They'll make you one, just don't have high expectations because this is not that kind of bar. There is a pool table and bar food. No full kitchen so the menu isn't overly impressive, but booze is more of their specialty. The staff is older and can be kind of crotchety, but that's usually if it's one of the crazy nights that all these young kids randomly show up. They weren't that kind of bar, I don't think the staff knows why these kids keep coming back, and they are slowly learning to embrace it. If you're a laid back person, looking for a cheap drink and a random conversation with a stranger at the bar, this is your kind of place. I've met some really off the wall folks and the regulars can keep you entertained for hours if you strike up a conversation with one... don't expect half of their tales to be true, but enjoy the ride.

I scoured the web for the best sounding wrap I could find and finally set my sights on Grand River Brewery. I ordered a Santa Fe wrap to-go, got there before it was even ready and was home to eat it within 5 minutes. To my dismay they had left the spicy ranch off the wrap. It was dry and unpleasant and that was an unfortunate tell of what was to come. It was accompanied by an odd tasting pickle, which particularly hurt my heart because I am a woman who loves a good pickle. This next part was especially jarring because the ambiance of the restaurant really seemed like they would have good fries, I'm sure they would be good fresh, but the ones I found inside my to-go box were not that. Sad, hard, dry fries that tasted and felt like they had been sitting out for hours. Truly disappointing. In summary, twas certainly a mistake to treat myself to this TWENTY ONE dollar meal that didn't even include a drink...21 dollars for a horrible wrap, horrible fries and a weird pickle. For that price I was really expecting the best wrap I've ever had, I could not have been more let down. My Venmo is grace-shoemaker- if you're feeling sympathetic to my experience. Thanks for tuning into my blog.

It's a very inconspicuous location, squeezed in between two truck depots. The building looks--inside and out--like it could be someone's workshop. At least if someone hung cool original art on their workshop's walls and set up a pool table. When we stood in front of the bar looking at the draft menu, a couple sitting nearby offered to scooch down so we could get barstools. Friendly folks=good start. We tried samples of a black IPA and rye IPA. Both were good, but we went with the rye for a pint. Nice and hoppy with just a little sharpness, good body. Had a bit of a drive in front of us, so we got a crowler of the black to go. Interesting beer selection, with two strong Scottish ales and many IPA variants. Plus alcoholic fruit slushees if that's your thing. We're mulling a run to Jackson purposefully to sample more of their offerings.
