If we're talking about the restaurant, everything was mediocre. Its cafeteria style which was interesting. I walked in clueless and the nice young people working took a minute to share that. I got the turkey feast, at least that's what I think it was called. Lots Of food. Turkey had no seasoning. It wasn't dry. I just had to add a lot of salt and pepper. The stuffing... some bites were good and other bites were overcooked. Mashed potatoes tasted like instant that they added some cream and butter to. Very heavy. The gravy was bland. Coleslaw was a vinegar based one and I liked it enough. Had a lot of allspice or something in it. Cranberries were fine. The roll was the best part. I over indulged and got two deserts because they all looked good. Carrot cake and lemon meringue pie. The cake was ok. I was disappointed in the lack of frosting. The pie was pretty good. How has Cornwell's Turkeyville managed to survive as long as they have? I remember coming here as a child...many times over. At the time I was getting the TurkeyDog, but I've now grown up and progressed to my goto Turkey Hot bun. The atmosphere hasn't changed but other than a few cashier location changes and some improvements to stay with the times. The food was great as always. My favorite has always been the Rhubarb pie, I will say that the recipe seems to have changed to accommodate some cinnamon and/or spice. The train, piano, and ice cream parlor remain unchanged. I always manage to insert a few quarters to make sure things are still working as I remember. The barn has changed life spans from what used to house turkeys as far as your eyes can see now house a donkey, goat and some pigs. The turkeys were out living their best life in the yard. It's great to see this place still thriving and I hope that is exactly what it is doing. Keep up the memories for all of these families and I hope that some young person reading this now will create these memories and share them for years to come. read more

My wife brought me here when we were visiting her hometown of Battle Creek. This place was a ton of fun and certainly is worth a visit. I imagine the next time we are here with our travel trailer that we will book well in advance to stay at their RV park on site. Cornewell's has a level of nostalgia that while I did not experience, I completely understand. The food was decent but honestly it wasn't phenomenal. I had the chicken pot pie and while the texture was pretty solid, it was rather bland. Aside from the food, they also have a fudge shop and a killer gift shop. The gift shop is a ton of fun and I couldn't help but purchase a few fun items. The wife and I will certainly be back again. read more

I love a turkey dinner. A turkey sammich. Heck I love pie and kitschy places. I don't love it here. Portions are small. Flavors are bland. Not just old people food bland, more like have you ever heard of a spice, any spice at all before? I mean, this kind of cuisine is normally my jam. This is Granny shame. I was last here about 40 years ago. Needless to say, it has changed; I don't remember the giant gift shop or the ice cream parlor -- or all of the indoor seating, for that matter, but it certainly could have been there. Everything is pretty well-priced. I got the turkey salad plate (well, it's actually a plastic take-out container) and it was very good. Lettuce, shredded cheese, a whole egg and lots of thick sliced roasted and smoked turkey. It was a generous portion, and I ended up bringing some home. I was glad to find that their iced tea is freshly brewed every day, and it was good. I also had ice cream in the ice cream shop. Their ice cream is homemade, as are their waffle cones. I don't remember the name of the flavor I had, but it was something unique to Cornwell's Turkeyville. I got a "one scoop" waffle cone sundae, but it was easily 3 scoops of ice cream. My only complaint was that there was a hole in the bottom of the cone, so the ice cream dripped a little, and that the cone was so deliciously crisp that it broke when I bit it. The best thing at Cornwell's is the pie. Outstanding crusts, and especially the rhubarb pie! Then comes the sloppy tom, which is a turkey based sloppy Joe. The rest earns the grade of 'C.' It makes me sad that they could do SOOOOO much more with this place, the same old same old menu never changes. The gravy is from Gordon's Food Service, and the potatoes taste instant. It is reminiscent of of the school cafeteria. Now it is a Calhoun Co Classic, but don't expect extreme deliciousness. read more

Salad served, several dressing options, rolls & turkey soup full of turkey, then we went to buffet line where they serve you mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy and you help yourself to 4 sides and as much turkey as you want. Three Dessert options. Free coffee, tea, water - soda and cocktails for purchase. Wonderful gift shop, ice cream, fudge, caramel corn, bakery items for sale. Downtown Marshall also a fun addition. Very disappointing. The food was so bland and very expensive for what it was. The customer service/counter people were rude. Even the very few other customers who were in the place were not nice. We had wanted to camp at their campground but they don't have online scheduling. We left a message but our call was never returned. Fail on both food and camping. read more

Super quick service, you order at the counter after walking by pictures of your choices. I asked what is good and she said turkey, yes it should be and almost everything is turkey this or turkey that. We all went for the traditional meal. Meal comes with a vinegar based slaw side that was very tart. The cranberries were tasty and the meal was hot and a pleasant surprise to have a traditional November meal in February. Next door is a icecream parlor with their homemade flavors, to full this time but squeezed in a sample. I came here all season long with my family in the 90s. As an adult it was nice to show my husband and stepdaughter a place so close to my heart! I chose fall season as first exposure because the grounds didn't seem as packed. The petting area was still full of animals. We all ate afterwards and had a homemade ice cream. Came here for the car show, which was fun and we enjoyed the surroundings. The little train ride in the back of the property was very enjoyable! But we got turkey dinners here, and they were very disappointing compared to dinners we've had here in the past. I don't like to give low ratings, but I'm trying to be of some help. The turkey amount was quite small, my turkey had some kind of cartilage in it that made it tough to chew. My husband's turkey portions were small and just cut-up pieces. The temperature of the potatoes and dressing was not hot at all; the flavor was bland; and the coleslaw had too much vinegar in it. The ladies bathroom had a leak and the floors were all wet and there was a bad odor almost like sewer I would come back for their dinner and theater show, but I would probably not return for their lunches. My husband always craves "turkey dinner" when there's such an offering on the menu. Let's say - it wasn't too bad. If you understand that this is NOT your Grandma's house on Thanksgiving Day - you'll be fine. They didn't just pull the 22 pound turkey out of the oven. They didn't just mash 10 pounds of potatoes. However, they DID serve you a full turkey dinner in under 20 minutes. It's hot, it's tasty and it's very filling. The cranberry relish was yummy! The sage dress was good. They offer several dessert options (extra$) including cream and fruit pies, big cookies, a brownie concoction and I got their pink bomb. It was ok but really sweet. I wouldn't get it again. I'll go for the cream pie next time. There's an ice cream parlor in the next room if that's more to your dessert liking. There's also a very small arcade next to that. While I try not to leave poor reviews of local businesses, it needs to be said for anyone hearing the siren song of nostalgia about this place. You visit Turkeyville for the environment, not the food. The signage is in many places very vintage, and that's good! The food is also elderly, I think. Probably more time in a pot than most food you ever normally eat. My two stars are awarded for the food. I had a turkey noodle plate. The noodles were the small bit ends of once long noodles. They were very tender, which I am not criticizing. I would expect easy-eating noodles here. But I also expected longer noodles, as shown in the helpful photos accompanying the wall menu. The turkey was strangely flavorless, resting in a gravy that barely whispered of its origins. Maybe it was a poultry source, maybe not. I reached for the salt shaker 4 times during the meal. They turkey was also a shade of dark gray brown that is rarely seen in home cookery. Perhaps they have a breed of turkey that has darker dark meat. The flavor, not the color was judged here. As others note: The pies are good. Maybe great even, depending on your pie-exposure history. I'm recommending that you stop for pies, not meals. Or just look around, and if you're feeling generous, get an ice cream cone, or jelly from the general store. read more

Incredibly disappointed. During the stay, we were harassed by a manager on a power trip. She is currently under federal investigation from withholding mail from residents. We were trespassed from the camp ground due to our service animal. This dog was contained within campground rules. The sheriff (whom she called 6 times) who came out to preform a welfare check found NO issues with the dog and deemed his living conditions safe. He was on an 25' cable, had shelter, and was let off the lead while we were present. Angela cursed out her guests, snatched personal items from hands of her guests, and lied to make herself seem innocent. Other staff at the campground also had negative things to say about her. We were told we will now be targeted by local police, sheriffs department, and state patrol because "she isn't somebody we want to pi** off." While packing our belongings and trying to leave peacefully, Angela let us know she collected a "possey" of individuals to stalk and intimidate us. She will single handedly ruin the entire reputation of this campground. At the end of the day, I hope she gets the psychological help she so desperately needs. read more

WIN 271! I defeated the "Super Tom" ice cream challenge at Cornwell's Turkeyville in the new record time of 5:15. Contestants have 15 minutes to finish the 15 scoop sundae, along with 5 toppings. For winning, I received the $20 dessert for free. I chose 5 scoops each of vanilla, strawberry & chocolate. For my 5 toppings, I chose strawberry sauce, hot fudge, chocolate syrup, peanuts, & sprinkles. Cornwell's Turkeyville is a neat place. There's a restaurant, which also does catering. In addition, there's an ice cream parlor (with homemade scoops), a dinner theater & a campground! This was my second food challenge win of the day in Michigan, followed by the breakfast one earlier in the day. read more

I got the stir fry. It's $12.99. If you want meat with it you pay an extra $3.00. My grandson got grilled cheese and Turkey sandwich. That was $10.99. My granddaughter got a kids Turkey sandwich. She asked that they put cheese on it. Came out with no cheese, so I asked someone if she would take it back and put cheese on it. Her reply was "well did you ask for cheese?". Turkeyville is such a feel good place to visit... I've been visiting here ever since I was a little girl! I always love getting their turkey dinner... the turkey, mash potatoes, roll, and stuffing are great! I'm not the biggest fan of the coleslaw or cranberry sauce. I tried their apple pie... and wasn't the biggest fan either. But I love the comfy ambience of Turkeyville... and that there's always fun activities going on! I also love the gift shop... For some reason, this is a favorite stop for my in-laws, so I've eaten here multiple times. And despite trying a variety of menu items, I've never had an enjoyable, flavorful meal here. The food is very bland, very starchy, and salt/pepper can't save it. Having said that, though, I'd recommend visiting just to check out the shops in the building--which focus on crafty/regional specialties--as well as the ice cream parlor and surrounding small attractions. My family was in the area over the weekend and we visited twice. I love their sandwiches- the Sloppy Tom is my favorite, but the Grilled Cheese with Turkey and Turkey Salad are both very good too. My husband liked the turkey burger so much he ordered it two days in a row. They have excellent desserts- the ice cream and pies are both homemade and delicious! I highly recommend the strawberry pie if it is available, it is my favorite. They also offer homemade fudge and caramel corn. This review is only about the restaurant food. I ordered the turkey bun dinner and my husband ordered the Amish turkey noodle meal. The restaurant is cafeteria style. You order your main meal from a wall menu and push down the counter and pick out other items (deserts, drinks, extra sides). Your food is brought out on a plastic plate and a plastic tray with paper cups for drinks and plastic silverware. The service personnel were friendly and helpful. The food was horrible. It was barely warm and the turkey and mashed potatoes were dry and bland. The gravy was tasteless and watered down. The roll was probably good, but it was so soaked in the watery gravy that it became a nasty mess. The coleslaw was straight up vinegar and inedible. The only good part was the Amish noodles and cranberry sauce. To say the least, I was very disappointed that we drove 37 miles for such a poor meal. If you're hoping for a thanksgiving meal, this is not worth the cost. read more

First i can tell you, I like going to Turkeyville for the flea markets, gift shop and ice cream. This is all quite nice, and a great time to hang with family and friends for a few hours The food on the other hand, bleh! They are known for turkey, people eat here every day. But, to me, this turkey is just bland, it has no flavor. I have had quite a few meals there and every time I would rather be eating at Bob Evans. Another person stated the mashed potatoes were not good, and they were right, they just have no flavor either. Now, the people they have working at Turkeyville are all very nice. I think in the last 50 years of going there, I have only met one very bad employee there. If you want to go to this place for the car shows, the flea markets, the yard sales, it is pretty nice.
