My review is regarding the staff running the Non- Pro Shop. They are the biggest bunch of assholes I have ever seen. From the general non manager on down . When checking in our group was shorted a cart and the ass-hat at the register was adamant that he had given out all the carts necessary - quick clue - he hadn't. After arguing with him for ten minutes he finally gave me a cart and sent someone from the cart barn to check with our other groups. When complaining later and proving that we had not been given and extra cart, there was no apology forth coming, only smug indifference, no apologies from staff or the general manager who should at least be more concerned and responsive to customers. Definitely not a way to run a business. In this day and age when people want jobs they should all be fired. Untrained Monkees could do a better job. I always liked the layout of the course and thought of it as a smaller version of PGA West Stadium course. It's a bit of a drive but course was in decent shape- greens were in super shape. Rolled great maybe a touch long but due to the heat don't want to burn them out. Fairways were OK and lakes really needed more water. Cart girl had a super attitude and tried to up sell us into buying a cocktail while playing our round. Great value compared to other options in the area. For years, I have been wanting to play this course. When I first started to play the once named PGA Golf of Southern California. The many times I have drove past it. Even when I moved out of Cali and visited Palm Springs once a year. Well, as it turns out. This course was my best friends high school golf teams home course. So when we had our annual palm springs trip recently. He set this as one our course to play. To my surprise, this course was really amazing. Did not expect all of trees, and the amount of undulating landscape. It was challenging but fun. The course is in decent shape. The greens were in great shape and rolled smoothly. This is for the staff unfortunately. From the check in where the guy is making fun of me because I'm paying for all 4 players. Just because he can't afford it doesn't mean other people can't. Then the Marshal has no clue. We get teed off late then on hole 4 he is literally yelling at us that we are too f$&%ing slow. Tried to talk to him to no avail. Offered to let the people behind us go ahead but he just wanted to tell me how he is 80 and blah blah blah. He then babysits us for several holes. Very uncomfortable. But then you get to the back 9 where they don't even attempt to stop the 5 groups of kids walking across the course and fishing the lake. So now you have to worry about trespassing targets on the course. So he can yell at us for his starter starting us late but can't keep fishers off the course. Brilliant! The lady at the bar was amazing but the cook was bummed out she had to do her job both at the turn and after the round when we ordered food. Both times acting like a child she had to DO HER JOB and make the food we ordered. The golf course is great and challenging. Specially in comparison to tukwet across the street. It's a shame that a couple ass hats can ruin a great course and experience. read more

Overall had a great experience for the price, paid $70 and played with my friends and loved the course, challenging but very fun layout, make sure your accurate off the tee very crucial for this course. Loved hole number 3. Staff was very friendly and helpful, had a situation happen with my party and the guy in the cart barn and pro shop both were very quick to help and accommodate us, overall very friendly and helpful staff. Thought I'd drive out to try out this course for Father day with Father in Law and Brother in Law and his Dad. Pro shop experience was good until I didn't get told I needed my receipt and wasn't given one.... Then baby Gandolf (thinks he owns the place) at first hole presses me over not having a receipt. I told him I didn't get one and he looks at me up and down and wants me to do push ups???? I told him only if he would do them with me. Which if course he didn't.... Weird move to pull right???? We tee off with my father in law and my other dad. Dude managing the tee box can't control the two some of ladies he with from chirping at us on the first teee box!!! Then Marshall is pressing us about speed of play on the second hole... we start moving in this cart just to find out it has barely an breaks and we are then forced to take on speed bumps down hill... we pull up to third hole just to be waiting????? Absolutely recommend this! Very helpful and friendly staff, and great golfers community! We left an iron this afternoon in one of the greens in back 9 and we only noticed it was missing when we got to 17th hole. We looked for it around the greens after we finished, but didn't find it. We're starting to lose hope, but when we returned our cart and asked the staff if anyone turned it in, he instantly replied yes and we got it back! To the good hearted fellow golfer who found and gave it to the staff, thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts! And to the kind staff who kept it safely, thank you again we appreciate you! Yet another reason that keeps us coming back, plus the great greens and wide open fairways that we always love. Definitely our favorite neighborhood golf course. read more

Been going here since it came out of foreclosure in the early 90's. Course was in pretty good shape yesterday-fast greens and fairways, bunkers had sand-however some of the fringes of the greens were a little threadbare. You can barely see the houses from the course given how the trees have matured since they built it. Great layout overall and yes, service/pro shop seemed sparse and understocked. The defacto 19th hole is at the Sandtrap restaurant next door. It would be a shame to see this course fail. Great layout and bang for the buck. read more

Found a tee time at 8:40 on a Saturday for $85. Ok. Based on my previous experiences here I was excited as this course hosted qualifiers and was in good shape and I really enjoyed the layout. Arrived early to a not very interested staff, but checked in got the cart and hit a few balls before heading up to the first tee. A couple groups ahead there was a no show so we went off 20 minutes early. Early on you could tell the course has gone seriously down hill. Gopher holes everywhere, poorly maintained rough and tee boxes. Pretty disappointed. The group in front of us was driving their cart onto the aprons of the greens , no respect for the course. Pace of play- Front nine 1:50, back nine 2:20, not bad. Wouldn't return unless course conditions improve. read more

Apparently the course has new ownership and the course conditions show it. Poor maintenance on the course. I have to say the greens are in decent condition. They apparently stopped providing water on the golf course as they have had in the past. They did have a cart girl selling 12oz bottles of water for $3.25. I was very disappointed. Let me start with the positive and that is the course. Tee boxes and greens are in excellent shape as of 9/15/22 and the course is challenging but fair. We had one interaction with the Marshall and he was polite and courteous. We had our cart parked to close to the green and he instructed us on that rule infraction. Our bad!! Now for the negative, snack bar wasn't open early on Saturday morning for our tournament which started at 8:00 am. Guys are looking for coffee and pastries but to no avail. Driving range is very limited, maybe 15 spots so it's a bit of a wait. Putting green is way up on the bill so you'll need a cart to get there. The rough was way too close to the green so that if you were a foot or so off, you were chipping out of very tall rough. Maybe they couldn't cut before the weekend, I'm not sure. Had a great time today playing golf with my friends. The greens were great. I was a hot day, but it was enjoyable.

The golf course is in OK shape and is decently challenging, but the amenities are a joke and the course is completely mismanaged and appears on the verge of shutting down. There is no restaurant, there is no bar, no cart service and the snack bar is hit or miss on whether they decided to show up for the day. The shop is barely stocked and the place is like a ghost town. Sorry to say, I would be surprised if this course lasts another 6 months. read more

They refused under any circumstances to let me walk when the course was empty in the afternoon. I just had to take a cart. I'm in good enough shape to walk, and the kids in the local golf academy are allowed to walk - the management's excuse was that they were juniors and couldn't drive the carts. I can tell you that they all looked old enough to be licensed drivers to me. Additionally, the carts have their speed governor turned way up, and there's no GPS, so you're relying on pacing to the yardage stones to find distances to the greens. Anyways, conditions are "fine" - some crappy teeboxes, rough is long and punishing, greens are the nicest part of the course for sure. $80 in the morning is too much - you'll get better value for money at Tukwet Canyon across the freeway. read more

This course could be one of the best public courses in the Inland Empire if the superintendent would just water some critical tees (#1, #2, #3, #6, #8, #14) and maintain the roughs at a consistant lower height. read more

The online pictures of the website need to be updated. My husband and daughter played on 11/25 and the quality of the course was terrible. The fairways were painted and workers on every fairway. They shouldn't be charging $70 for early tee times. They had to wait at every hole. Overall this course is a 2 out of 10. We've lived in the area for a while and have played golf "sparingly"over the years. Recently my sons and I have taken up golf as a bonding hobby. The positives here are the carts have nice seats and have small ice chest to store waters or beers. They even provide ice for you. Snack bar prices were pretty reasonable. Got 2 waters and 2 beers for $12. Negatives are club house seemed like a ghost town. Half of it is blocked off and looks abandoned. We played here mid day on a weekend and didn't see the cart girl once! The course has some challenging holes but the conditions weren't great. And honestly for the price to play here, you can go across the freeway to play at Tukwet for a cheaper price and nicer overall facilities. read more

Oak Valley is one of the best golf courses in the Inland Empire. It is kept up well and they do a great job at managing the tee times. But most of all, they have really great staff. The guys in the proshop are really great, are helpful, and courteous. I've been playing OV for about 5 years now and I've never had a bad experience there. They even call me "Mr. Yardley" which is totally not necessary. But they do it because they have pride in making the customer feel welcome and special. Way to go guys! read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Horrible clubhouse management, and the starter is a slime-ball. We had tee - off at 7:15 as a foursome and got through the turn-around in 2 hours. By hole 10, the starter had already heckled our group 3 times for slow golfing. Should've left then, but we decided to finish. He came back another 3 times, more aggressive each time. Not once did the foursome behind us roll up while we were at the tee box; we were always on out 2nd shot. When we wanted to speak to the starter after we finished, but being the coward he is, hid behind the counter. This would be an excellent course if management and the starter would acting like urinal cakes. read more

My father, a 77 year old disabled vet, after many years of return patronage, tried to exchange his old ball tokens for a $5 bucket of balls. The manager refused to honor our tokens because they had since removed the ball machine and told us we would have to pay again. We were heartbroken and will never go back. Now we go to Yucaipa and get treated with great respect honoring his service with warm familiar greetings and free balls on the house. Oak Valley can cater to the millennial Tesla crowd, but if you're just an old guy trying to take your kid out, there's better golf courses, closer for less money. Oak Valley would do well to remember and take care of their regular customers as we were going twice weekly for many years. Although this happened years ago, I still cannot take my dad golfing here because they did us dirty. read more

This is a really solid course. It's always in great shape and is challenging but not unfair. What I also appreciated is that during 100+ days they had water coolers with cold water in them. Other courses in the area don't provide this. The rates are also fair. A few dollars higher than other area courses, but worth every penny. read more

I don't even know why I'm giving it 2 stars. They open at 0600 and never have the range ready, so if you don't mind not being able to warm up and hit a few practice balls before your round then this is the place for you. The course I suppose is in decent shape but for what it is it's a little pricey for me. No break for being a Solera or Oak Valley Greens resident. You never know when the range is gonna be ready and the ball dispenser always gets jammed. Oak Valley it's time to step into the 21st century read more

Nice well maintained course out in Riverside county, right across the 10 freeway from the Morongo course. It didn't have a lot of amenities like some other golf courses, but the course itself was in great shape and rather challenging. The green fees were priced very well and the food in the restaurant was good. I will definitely return for another round, since in the summer it isn't as hot there as Palm desert or La Quinta read more

Conditions right now are absolutely awful. The fairways are completely devoid of grass it looks nothing like any of the pictures. For $70 you expect at least decent conditions, or maybe a heads up on the way out that there's no grass. Right now, in these conditions, this course is not worth playing, wouldn't be worth playing at half the price until the fairway conditions are addressed. We could've played anywhere and wasted our $300 here for the foursome. I will say, it would be an amazing course if the conditions improved, but they'd have to improve A LOT. Bunkers filled with rocks, no fairway grass, and expensive is not a good combo. read more

I love golfing here. I like it more than the SCPGA course right across the freeway. Just miles before the Morongo casino and miles after San Manuel, Oak Valley is the perfect course to waste a day golfing then spend an evening gambling. That's how I do it and that's how I roll. Now usually play twilight rounds here and for the most part, it just cost me under $60. Not a bad price to play for a great looking course. Once you check in a the huge and beautiful clubhouse, you take your cart to the huge range. Token just cost between $5 to $8. The practice putting green is right next to the first tee, so you can get the speed of the quick greens here right before you start. The thing about this course is that it starts easy, and then, it gets harder, and harder, and harder. The first two holes are quite identical medium length par 4's, that with tee shots (you don't need driver here), you should get away a birdie. I think the first par 3, is the third, tees off from about a 100 foot drop. So it's a 3 or 4 club difference. There are some beautiful holes here. This course is used in many PGA sanctioned tournaments and I have played this course with bad results. The greens are quick and around the greens it's pretty rolling. So you can use your putter from way off the green. It's shaved nicely off the greens. The whole course runs through several housing developments. But only a few holes on the back nine are in close contact to any houses. Along with the 3rd hole, many holes have extreme elevation changes. Most of them downhill. Fun, fun course. Always in good condition, always playing fast, beautiful holes, give it try. read more

Took a buddy to play here last Saturday, it was the first time playing here for both of us. This could have been in the running for slowest golf round we've ever played. It took us 3.5 hours to play the front nine. There was a group on each tee box waiting to hit before us on every hole, even the par 5s. I was really disappointed and a bit embarrassed I selected this course to invite my friend to play. We ended up quitting after nine holes because pace of play. Either the course was overbooked or the Marshalls did not do their job coordinating pace of play. read more
