Assessed the situation and told me my options for tree removal, just a cut down or cut down + trunk removal. I opted for the latter. His price came in lower than someone else I had come and give me a quote, which I was surprised. My smallish pine tree (15 - 20 ft tall) was cut, stump removed, and cleaned up in 2.5 hours. Leo double checked if I wanted the hole to be left open where the stump was removed or cover it back up with dirt before they finished the project. I opted for them to cover the hole back up since I'm not ready to put in a new tree. Communication was good, he let me know when he was 5 mins out from my house and we were in communication about scheduling. Would definitely hire again.

The small project was to take a pittosporum down about 5 feet and enhance the canopy shape. They did a very nice job on this. Meanwhile, the bigger project was being done by the rest of the crew. We have a very large Monterey Cypress. It needed to be cleared or dead branches, a good deal of weight, and a large lateral "window" created to allow a clear view from a back deck. With guys on ropes and a guy on the cherry picker truck (bucket truck), they go the job done. All of this was completed in an afternoon and within about a week of my contacting them. Additionally, I enjoyed interacting with the crew and with Willy. Certainly worth getting an estimate!

Nevertheless, the crew completed that and removal of the remaining trunk and root the following date with incredible efficiency and safety precautions to protect trees from falling. You're in good hands with Willy the owner, who is practical and understanding of the emotions around trees and his crew polite and exceedingly hard working. It was well worth the amount we paid which was competitive. It helps them out immensely when you can clear out space for them to work and secure parking for their chipper and truck.

They had a near perfect rating and were praised by pleased clients. After contacting Juan, he came over almost immediately to provide a quote. I wanted to update my high maintenance, overgrown front yard with low maintenance, drought tolerant plants and pavers. Juan listened to my ideas and provided his own useful knowledge. They were the right group for the job! Shortly afterwards, I also met Michael, the Project Manager. He and Juan manage several work teams that we got to see in action over the next several months. Workers were here religiously 5-6 days a week; usually starting around 9am and working usually until after 5pm in good weather and bad. The teams work incredibly hard and are extremely skilled in all facets of yard construction. Any concerns or glitches were met by almost immediate response by JV, whether or not the request came during the course of the work day. I was extremely impressed when Michael came by late one evening during pouring rain to clear water backing up onto the street and sidewalk due to equipment left at the curb. Near the completion of my front yard, I started to talk with Juan and Michael about completing the backyard and sides as well. They continued the pavers from the front with a backyard patio and paths on the sides. My old redwood deck was replaced with a composite deck and wood pergola, artificial grass, maintenance shed and complete lighting. Roxanne, their plant specialist, listened to my plant suggestions and designed a yard full of interesting plants to meet my requirements. Even though the job is now complete, JV wants to make sure customers remain satisfied. Many of my new plants were planted during the winter, and as I live in a frost zone, I was unsure of what would survive the winter. I'm pleased to say that only one type of flower planted in the front yard appears to be struggling, but Michael has already said they would be replaced if they didn't survive until spring. It's that type of customer follow through that makes JV Gardening amongst the best in their field. Now that my whole job is complete, I'm very happy that I used JV for the job.
