First off, parking for The Fairmont is $10 for self-parking or $56 for valet parking. While the valet parking fee is quite hefty, the valet attendant did let us know in advance of both options. I opted for valet because I would have either had to backup or drive around the block to self-park and, well, why not treat ourselves further on this festive day while we were all dressed up soooo we did valet parking. Then, the hotel lobby was emaculate and festively decorated for Christmas with a tree, Santa's mailbox, and garland adorning the stairs. We made our way upstairs to the grand ballroom with assistance by pleasant hotel staff. There was another Christmas tree there. The ballroom was large, tables with tablecloths were set about the room, and there was a pianist and cellist playing. Service was buffet-style with staff assisting us with what was what. There was a meat station with turkey, ham, and prime rib, salad and soup station with butternut squash soup and French onion soup, a station with sides including Brussels sprouts, glazed carrots, yams, potatoes, green bean casserole, dressing, etc., a coffee station, and a dessert station with bourbon pecan pie, pumpkin pie, blueberry cobbler (star of the show), and more. Everything was delicious, staff was excellent. Two notes to elevate the experience: 1) next time setting up tables for two, staff could set it up so that guests don't have to straddle the table legs 2) for the price of $75, ya gotta have cocktail shrimp Would i do it again? Yes, IF they add the shrimp.

Joan was so kind to ask about and provide specific snack & drink items I had requested for our stay, Breakfast was delicious: every item freshly prepared by Joan. There is a washer and dryer, a full kitchen, a gigantic bathroom, and there is even an inflatable mattress downstairs as well as a queen sized bed upstairs. It would be a tight squeeze to inflate the mattress. but I slept on the super comfy couch. It would be a great place to stay for a week or a weekend (I only stayed for one night). Note: the price is excellent, but you should be aware that check in is after 3pm, and check out is at 11am. A little inconvenient if you are only staying for a night (I ended up just buying two nights so that I could sleep in). HOWEVER, the value of not having to rent a car and find a place to park while in lawrenceville COMPLETELY made up for it. All in all the Briarwood Home is a great place to stay at while in Lawrenceville!

Hosts Paul and Marybeth have a great backstory, and clearly love creating a welcoming atmosphere.

By far the most amazing bed and breakfast I've ever visited!…read more The home (reconstructed and build by the owners) sits atop the highest peak in the area and overlooks the most amazing rolling hills. In the early morning hours and sometimes even during the day - the surrounding hills cover with fog and you feel like you're standing on an island in the middle of the ocean. It's utterly breathtaking. (I highly recommend staying in the upstairs bedroom! Super comfy beds, an awesome bathroom/shower, and a perfect view of the rolling hills!) A large group of wedding vendors and I photographed a styled wedding on the property and we couldn't have been happier with the end result. There are acres and acres of beautiful trails to walk, a large pond full of fish, an awesome bonfire and outdoor bar, as well as a beautiful barn on the land. The space is utterly perfect for country or outdoor weddings! I cannot wait to visit again - both for professional reasons and for personal! (Also, the owners, Sandy and Lou are two of the sweetest people I've ever met! If you love stories about history - ask them questions! They have so many great tales to tell!)
