A few examples include excessive maintenance delays exacerbating damage; zero or poor quality vendor selection, expensive work tasks poorly organized and charged in duplicate, and weeks or months delay in responsiveness to tenants leading them to handle things on their own again exacerbating my expense and everyone's frustrations. The most recent example of negligence was this week: the tenants submitted a work request 10 AUG and received no response, they then sent NSP a reminder of the issue on 01 OCT, I was forwarded a work order request and learned of the issue 06 OCT, and still had to coordinate to address the issue myself and I live in another state currently which is why I need a good competent property manager. I've read the other reviews including responses from the business; the customer complaints are familiar and responses from NSP are unfortunate. Opportunities to take accountability are glossed over and those implying that the property owner was confused or something was lost in translation is both insulting and bizarre as NSP's only job is to manage tenants and their homes. My experience has resulted in the loss of tens of thousands of dollars; I'm looking for another property manager before I lose my home due to mismanagement. This week was the final straw

Everything seemed really great BEFORE I had tenants, there was lots of open communication, she explained everything. I felt like we were partners. But then as soon as I had people interested in the house, I had NO INFORMATION given to me about any of the financials. I was not privy to their lease agreement, the amount of the deposit, anything. I was also not given any information about when payments would be disbursed until I reached out and asked. This didn't feel like transparency. I was finally given my first payment 12 days after tenants moved into my house. I received a very small fraction of what they paid on move in. This was expected! Expensive, but expected. What was not expected was the re-key fee that Best Life charged me. I left complete sets of keys, there was no need to charge me the rekey. This shouldn't have been a big deal, but I received nothing but defensive communication in response. No apology. She offered to remove the fee but didn't apologize, when I explained why I was frustrated she FIRED ME. That was it. I would have loved for this to be a great experience with no hidden fees--this business advertises pricing transparency--but instead, on my very first disbursement there was a hidden fee. Disappointing to say the least. ALL I NEEDED WAS AN APOLOGY, INSTEAD SHE FIRED ME. I have no idea what will happen to my poor tenants.

After approval and confirmation that she was going to send the agreement, we were asked to resubmit ESA documentation on Thursday, despite having already provided it earlier. We resent the documentation on Thursday at 3:00pm, expecting her to send the agreement right after (like she said she would). The leasing agent Eustina, did not accept or escalate it and instead repeatedly requested a "valid signature" without explaining what was missing, despite multiple requests for clarification. This led us to unnecessarily contact my psychiatrist to ask about rewriting documentation that was already complete and valid, which is incredibly disrespectful to waste someone else's time like that. The documentation was from a licensed psychiatrist at OHSU, yet at one point the agent referenced information from Pettable (an online ESA service) rather than properly reviewing documentation from a treating psychiatrist at a major hospital, which was concerning and unprofessional. I had to contact the leasing office after they had unfortunately closed at 6pm on Thursday. I could've contacted them before they closed at 5pm, if it wasn't for the unnecessary delay by Eustina. The leasing office opened at 8:30am Friday, and by 8:50am, management reviewed the same ESA documentation and approved it immediately.. clearly demonstrating there was no actual issue with the paperwork. Unfortunately, the unnecessary delay from Wednesday and Thursday into Friday allowed another applicant to move forward and secure the home. We were never clearly informed that the process would be treated as a first come race rather than completion by the stated deadline. (Even though we were approved a whole day before). Although our application fees were refunded, the experience caused significant and avoidable stress due to poor internal communication and handling. I strongly recommend to look elsewhere.
