The cornerposts and clapboards were supposed to be different colors. Half way through the job, I went out to see how the job was going when I noticed both were the same color. They had to tear down what was done, wait 30 minutes for the right cornerposts to arrive. John was extremely unhappy about the additional work. I am an out of state investor, who contacted Oaks Construction in an effort to either repair or replace a roof of an investment property close to 5000 sq ft home. For months, I received calls from this company in an effort to obtain an estimate. I found the level of customer service exhibited from this company stellar. However, I must identify the unpleasant aspects I experienced as I attempted to schedule the completion of this project. I was advised the first step would be for an estimator to come out to the property to provide an estimate and complete any possible repairs. The scheduling representative also informed; I would be charged $300 for this estimate but if I decided to move forward with their company for a full replacement the charge would be deducted from the total bill. Long story short, a second roofer visited the property 2-3 later due to several cancellations on the part of Oaks Construction. To my surprise prior during the initial call with the second estimator, he inquired if I was interested in placing siding on the property. Huh, I called in about roofing and their representatives are offering services which I never mentioned needing. Once I finally received a final estimate of the cost of a full roof replacement, I was absolutely blown away by the price. The estimate received noted: Roof replacement $28,423, Soffit and Fascia $12,200 and Gutters $5,100 for a grand total of $42,200. I advised the estimate was three times the amount of the other roofing estimates I received for the same areas of repairs. This past August I posted a very negative review of Oaks Construction. I would like to rescind that now. Since that time, the owner Kris Oaks, personally got involved. He has worked very hard to resolve any and all of my issues and concerns. He has communicated with me regularly, assigned staff to work with me, and has done anything possible to make me happy. As a result of his efforts, I went forward and had Oaks Construction perform the work that I originally requested. His workers were both professional and did excellent work. He put a schedule together and stayed on schedule. The quality of the finished job is excellent. I can now wholly recommend Oaks Construction to anyone. Oaks Construction (Graves Brothers) tried to repair my roof 2x. Once Dec 28, 2020 and most recently 3/8/22 and I was charged a total of $683.20 for the visits. Both times the singles they replaced came off. Both times the contractors (Graves Brothers) said the roof is in good condition and the repairs will take care of the issue. Called and talked to Paige and she said they would set me up and reminded me of the service rates or she could send someone out to estimate a new roof. She said the are no warranties on repairs. And then said she would send out an estimator to give me an estimate. I asked why would I do that as your service personnel both told me the roof is in good condition and I would not have any further issues, and reminded her I was into this for $700.00 already. She said were my only options. Evidently they do poor roofing repairs and make money on return visits. read more

This company was great to work with from the beginning process of renting a dumpster. Would definitely recommend if you need to rent one! First off, my new roof looks fine. That's the last positive thing I have to say about working with this company though. I will list things that went wrong or left a bad taste in my mouth: 1. I ordered an upgrade (about $500) in tar paper on my original contract, but they did not bring it on the day that they did the roofing. Thank goodness I noticed and contacted my sales rep about it or I would have been charged for something that was not installed. They did not charge me in the end, but I'm sure that they would have if I didn't say something. 2. In my original contract, I also paid for new gutters. 2 weeks after the roof was completed and no one contacted me about installing them, I had to contact them. They clearly forgot about me, but got the gutters installed quickly after my phone call. 3. After the gutters were installed, the sales rep came to the house to make sure everything was satisfactory. He immediately noticed that the brand new drip edges were bent and damaged when they installed the gutters. He took pictures and voiced his disappointment in the shoddy workmanship, and assured me that they would repair it immediately. Four days later, I received the invoice for the total job, but had not heard about when they would repair the gutters, so I contacted the sales rep again who said that he would "send an email now. Should be any day." Three weeks later, I still did not hear from Oaks about the repairs to my gutters/drip edges. I called and insisted that someone call me back immediately which they did. The owner did not seem all that concerned that they hadn't repaired the damage and offered only a half of an apology even though it was his employee that noticed the damage. Someone came out the next day and fixed only part of the damaged drip edges. Oaks did not call to see if I was happy with the work. No one called to even tell me that the work was completed! The owner knew that I was clearly disappointed in the way that I had been treated up until that point when I talked to him, yet did not care enough to follow up. 4. Oaks offered a $100 gift card for a referral. The person that referred me to the company (in hindsight, has had the same issues with the lack of communication and follow-through) had to call and threaten to contact the Better Business Burrough before they send us the gift cards that they advertised. I finally received the gift card with no note/letter, no "thank you for you business", nothing. It takes only a minimal amount of time and effort to make most customers happy, yet Oaks Construction seems to go out of their way to not do any of that. I continue to be shocked that in today's day and age when one poor online review can sink a company, this one still doesn't care enough to check to see if their customers are pleased with the work. Even when he knew I was upset, I felt that the owner basically shrugged me off. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Lots of companies can install a roof with a LOT less hassle and headaches. Workmanship was fine, but the customer service is just awful. Find a different company, this one is not worth the headaches. One of the windows on our home, installed by another company, developed a leak due to shoddy sealing around the window. During a recent storm with driving rain and high winds we were faced with a steady stream of water into our house. The original installer was not available. Oaks Construction came to the rescue the following day which happened to be a Saturday! The technician quickly realized the source of the issue and used a superior product to seal the window and protect us from leaks. Prompt, professional service worth every dollar. They are on our list for future window, siding, and roof problems. read more
