Upon arrival my husband was left in bed unattended and uncomfortable in a back brace after Sutter repaired his L4 Vert. He was there for rehab of his back. I spent 6 hours a day with him and nothing was done the first week. He wasn't moved, wheelchaired, taken to restroom or PT. Within a week he had compression ulcers (bed sores) on both heels. They put blue booties on him and left him. They did not perform any wound care or keep his heels off loaded. At 7 days in and discovery of the wounds, Management couldn't discharge him fast enough. Management was rude to me, wouldn't answer my questions and told me that a Case Manager RN with Kaiser was making all the decisions. That RN would not return my calls and lied when he said he did (I have the phone record). When my husband got out on the 20th day he had untreated compression ulcers that took Kaiser wound care to pop and 12 months to heal. I have kept him compression ulcer free the last 11 months. In short, I will never recommend Rock Creek to anyone mainly because of the poor care and managements rudeness. Ask for a different Kaiser RN Case Mgr if yours will not talk to you. Many times patients are not given many options because of bed space availability but what I've found is that compression ulcers are very preventable but are highly likely in most facilities. Most facilities will let them happen and that imposes unnecessary costs to our health care system. If you have a loved one who isn't not very mobile going into a SNF or any home, make sure they are sitting on presser ulcer preventing cushions, appropriate bed mattress or cover that prevents ulcers and heels are elevated off the mattress and they are re-positioned often during the day. read more

Anyone in the position of having to place your loved ones in long term care, I am truly sorry. Our experience with Rock Creek was very mixed. The physical therapists are amazing and kind, they care. The nurses are overworked, with too many patients that they can't attend to. The assistants are a mixed bag, some great, some not great. The place is very dirty, no one comes when you hit your call button often left alone for hours at a time. It's very sad. read more

I had previously been to three other skilled nursing facilities, so I know how they are. Rock Creek is 100 times better than any of them. The staff is amazing. The administrator, Blake, really cares and goes out of his way to solve problems. The nurses and CNAs are fantastic. The showers were not only clean, the fixtures and the rooms are very nice. Even the bathroom in my room had very nice fixtures. The bed was very comfortable with good controls. They installed new HVAC so the room temperatures were very comfortable. There is a lot of attention to detail that makes the difference in healing. PT and OT and the therapy room are the best I have ever seen. Best PT and OT I have received in any Skilled Nursing Facility. Best therapy room I have seen. They even have reclined exercise bicycles to regain your aerobic strength as well as your muscle strength. My occupational therapist, Aileen, was top notch. She is very good with connecting with people and is a lot of fun. Wound care was great. Activities is amazing which is a really important part of recovery. I can't say enough good things about Mary. There are great activities every day. This is the only facility where the bingo cards are new and clean. All the rest were disgusting and dirty and barely worked. Plus we had blackjack on Saturdays which was really a lot of fun. Sometimes I would bet it all, knowing that if I lost they would just give me a few more chips to play until time was up. They have puzzles for some people and I took advantage of their coloring pencils and their books until I got my care package from home with my watercolor pencils. The nurses are very good and we had some fun with each other. That is important to me when you are stuck alone in a bed. I would look forward to seeing some of the CNAs, like Lori. A total professional. There were several others who really cared and were great to work with. If you have to go to a skilled nursing facility from a hospital stall until there's a bed open at this facility. read more

The best part of our experience with our mom there was the caring staff: Victoria, Sherry, Mariah and the speech therapist, Amanda. Other than these kind individuals, the rest was stressful. The director of PT, Arjun, literally shook his head and rolled his eyes at my mother in law while in PT. He is extremely arrogant and from what I witnessed, he has zero empathy. I wouldn't recommend this place to my loved ones. They over medicated my mother in law. At times they lost their patience with her, therefore they gave her more meds to try to keep her quiet. The physician on duty showed up on his terms. Didn't know one thing about our mom, nor did he ask questions. In summary, we learned more than we ever expected about skilled nursing facilities. I understand it's a tough job, but at the end of the day, it's their job to provide care and support to their patients. read more

One star is even generous. Entire facility is old, out of date and not well maintained. We took my mom out after 24 hours against medical advice it was so subpar. Short term rehab resident rooms are so small a family member can barely fit a chair to sit with loved one. One TV for 2 people. At 7:00am when I went to see my mom, she was without her walker (6 days post hip replacement), call button under her bed, bed a mess and attempting to get out of bed by herself. It was apparent no one had eyes of her for a substantial period of time. The sliding glass door to outside was literally open about 24", bugs, critters, people, anything could have entered, not to mention how cold it was. It took all my strength to even close the door it was so old and not functioning properly. You also need to be aware they use a "Jack & Jill" bathroom. My mom would have been sharing a bathroom with her female roommate but also the 2 men next room over - Totally unacceptable. The CNA who came first after we arrived had no idea why my mom was there, asked me is she could walk to the bathroom - what the heck? What if I was not there, what if my mom did not have capacity and did not answer correctly. SO many red flags with Rock Creek, be aware and causcious. read more

I was at Rock Creek from Aug 28 until Oct 9 recovering from a foot injury and infection. I cannot say enough about the kindness and skill of the nurses , cna's, and Physical Therapy Staff. Everyone was caring and kind Before I came there , I worried about the usual things one worries about when going to a skilled nursing facility. Will it smell like urine ? Will people be parked in front of the nurses stations looking hopeless ? None of these fears came true I was always treated in a kind way. Not like a child and with good senses of humor evident I want to shout out to several of the staff. My 4 nurses. Rania, Anna, Ashley , and Mariah. All who advocated for their patients and were incredibly personable and kind. They truly represented their profession well. Some great CNA staff. Lori , Alicia , Manfreet, Sherri , Danny , Nelia, Chevy , Tatiana, Cristiana and so many more. Who were fun and helpful and kept my spirits up everyday The Physical therapy staff , Tasha and Jose especially who went above and beyond for patients and always were encouraging to me to get up and move and helped me to get confident that I would return home with new strength If you do need to go somewhere to recover from an injury , I would highly recommend Rock Creek. For two weeks, my dad stayed here after a fall for physical therapy. The building felt worn down, and the vibe inside matched. Across the hall, a patient yelled nonstop. My dad said it made resting hard. Every time the yelling happened, my son would tell me about it. Most of the time, my son interpreted. Staff wore masks, which made lipreading tough. I can read lips but prefer to type if ASL isn't an option. No one offered that. My dad signs lazy, always waves things off like it's fine, so my son had to help more than he should. One nurse was short and didn't seem to care much. During the evenings, my dad liked one nurse who would sneak him extra food. That made his day and helped bump this up to three stars. Never again will he need to stay somewhere like this. I'm just glad it was short. The noise and lack of clear communication made it a place we don't want to return to. Three stars because other than the yelling, he didn't complain much, and that one nurse made a small difference. read more

ROCK CREEK- Auburn- If you are seeking to put a loved one in for rehab services or long term care, look no further than Rock Cree. They excel at short time rehab along with long term care as an excellent skilled nursing facility, coupled with a second to none physical therapy group who also wear their hearts on their sleeve and truly care for all of their patients for the smallest of details. Their front office staff is headed by very qualified nurses including Casey Haynes- Marketing Director, Mikayla Huntley-Admissions Director and Dawn Calkins- Director of Nursing. They also have some awesome nurses such as Gigi, Jannette, Jay and Alyssa, an Ostomy Nurse. The rehab folks are awesome also which include Gabby, Elaine, and Francine, to name a few. Some other CNA's that looked after my wife include, Kristine, Chevy, Mariah and Brielle. Last I would like to commend Kiely who has been on the front lines in helping with my wife's Ostomy issues, to which we are highly appreciative. Please bear in mind that I have only mentioned the folks that have been directly involved in my wife's medical issues since their staff is quite large. I am proud and lucky to have these wonderful folks involved in my wife's medical issues twice this year, to whic ash is still at Rock Creek for a second time due to her surgery and medical issues. My sister was there briefly and we removed her after four days. The actual website says private rooms well that's just the biggest lie on the planet. The rims are not private. My sister was in a room that was about 12' x 12' maybe with a curtain in the middle And an old lady on the other side. Nothing private about that. It smelled like urine my whole family just flipped out and we got her moved as quick as we could. We're sorry that it took four days but sometimes with someone sick things are complicated but I recommend you go somewhere else. read more

My grandpa had to spend 2 weeks here after a lengthy hospital stay, and he LOVED it. The staff is so personable, and the place is very clean. They have menus for food options which was important to him. The physical therapy team was awesome and did wonders on him in two weeks. This place is a lot better than some of the other options the hospital case workers try to give you. But we will definitely request Rock Creek if he needs more rehab in the future. read more

I visited a friend in this facility and was not impressed at all. There apparently are no private rooms so all the rooms are double. Shared bathrooms for adjoining rooms; the rooms are small, cramped and uncomfortable; the bathroom sink was slow draining-unsanitary. Beeping noise constantly like a truck was backing up. For most of us, this is an overwhelming experience for both the patient & their loved ones. Emotions run high & adapting to so many changes can be challenging, to say the least. A year has passed & I can't say enough good things about the staff the CNAs. They are respectful, patient, kind & good natured. They have group parties for holidays & a number of activities throughout the year for those patients who are more active. Their CNA's are highly skilled & professional, as well as friendly. Gods bless them all. It's a tough job that requires a big heart and a whole lot of soul. read more

Don't EVER let anyone you know stay here. The "care" is horrible. It takes 1/2 hour or more for a call light to be answered. There are a bunch of HIPAA violations and the administrator, DON & case manager couldn't care less. I have reported Rock Creek to numerous agencies and totally think this place should just be shut down. read more

WHY isn't more done regarding places like this?????????????????// I had a 3 day stay, 3-16-23 through 3-18-23 NEVER once was I offered a bath, push the button for Nurse help, bathroom, what EVER it may be, you are NOT going to get them to come in. LITERALLY, I hollered HELP ME, HELP ME..My door was open, could not close because the door hit my bed, I threw a dinner plate, an empty cup of water out in the hall, through the door, threw my pillow in the hall in HOPES someone would help me...I had to use the restroom. A nurse came in, to help my ROOM MATE. I told her I needed help to get to the restroom, she came over to my bed, looked at me with a confused look on her face (matter of FACT) 2 nurses at 2 different times, when I told them I have to use the restroom, I was told to go in the BED, they will change me later. A male nurse came into the room, middle of the night, NO WARNING, I am sound asleep lying on my back, he ripped the blankets down below my knees, I was NAKED from the waist down. I was so startled, I jumped, it hurt my stitches. I asked him what he was doing....checking your sheets.....he just stood there looking at my privates. I told him to NEVER do that again, he then took his hand, bent over, mentioned my name, started rubbing my leg asking me if I liked it, would this be ok to do next time, he comes in...!!! ALL I MENTION HERE IS THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH, I DID NOT ADD ONE THING TO MAKE IT SOUND WORSE THAT WHAT IT IS.....!!!!!!! I told the staff the very next day , get me out of here...2 nurses stated, "I don't know why you were in here to begin with"......I am so LIVID.....I called the Administrator of the ROCK CREEK CARE, I was of course told this would be reported....I will get back to yelp, up date what happens.. KEEP IN MIND, Rock Creek as with a LOT of business pays to state what a wonderful company they are, in this case, WE care about out patients...SERIOUSLY?? I am told by a few employees to use the bathroom in my BED, they will change the bedding later....Push the nurses button, usually to use the restroom, at this POINT, the nurses do NOT know what we need, they DO NOT SHOW UP. their outgoing phone messages states we are 5 star...again, they PAY someone to state this....What I posted here is GOD'S TRUTH, I did not make any of this up, did NOT add anything to this post to make it sound worse that what happened...I do NOT know personally anyone that works there, I am NOT affiliated in anyway shape or form to ROCK CREEK in Auburn Ca....This was my first and LAST STAY....I have no lawsuits, qualms against ROCK CREEK....As I mentioned I stated 3 day MARCH 16-2023 through March 18, 2023.....I asked to be removed from the FACILITY...When I call to get help, I get run around....everyone is in a meeting, its their day off, they are out to lunch, it is always something...DO NOT LEAVE A LOVED ONE IN THE FACILITY! I am absolutely appalled at the lack of care and outright neglect of one of my dearest friends during her stay there. She was admitted for rehab after leaving the hospital for a condition related to nutrient deficiency. She was showing improvement at the hospital but became severely malnourished again in less than two weeks at Rock Creek and is now back in the hospital in much worse shape. The serious neglect and lack of care she received is unacceptable. This facility is also keeping residents from having visits with their loved ones for the most part which is counterproductive to healing. Their covid protocols are ridiculous, over the top paranoid and are harmful to the residents. Families are unable to monitor their care or lack thereof which is not okay. If you want good quality care for your loved one, DO NOT take them to Rock Creek! read more

Didnt stay there myself nor try the food, hence knocked off a star as I personally wasnt a patient and this was a first impression. Just visiting an injured friend. However, it looked very clean and there were several people in checking on him during my visit. I had to ask my friend how the therapy was there. He replied they were working him hard five days a week which sounded perfect because he was in excellent shape and was there solely for therapy on two injured legs and nothing else. It didnt appear new and fancy but had a well equipped therapy room and friendly staff. And one gets a feel quickly for the care being offered after numerous weeks in other facilities by my elderly stepfather after THREE hip replacements! I would recommend it! read more

I went to recover from respitory problems for 10 to 14 days at rock creek. I lasted 2 and a half. Arrived Monday at 6 pm sat in a really hot room with no water ,no walker to use bathroom,no instructions and a fish dinner that arrived at 5.finally someone came to my room one hour later.Later at bedtime I hit my call button to take my nite meds and use the bpap after 50 min. they arrived to tell me my meds hadn't arrived and no one could figure out the Bpap .Bad start and not feeling safe . Tues. therapy evaluation which I felt wasn't going to focus on my breathing issue it was more about a"race". bath day no one told me. admin came in to tell me why the room was 74 in the heatwave. Wed. after skipping lunch because the food is horrible, really small portions, little variety or balanced( out of 3 meals today I had 12 bites). I asked to be discharged whoosh got lots of attention. I waited for the doctor to discharge me he did w/o listening to my lungs. Thur. morning at 8 a lady comes in and tells me to call for a ride instead of laying in bed all day waiting. I told her that discharge was working on it and that I was waiting on them. she again told me to call a ride I asked her who she was "your case worker" she replied . We went round and round. Then people scrambled to finish admission work and discharge work at the same time. I left at10 Why did I leave? I can give myself pills,go to the bathroom lay in bed,get ignored and starve at home. read more

Rock Creek has exceptional customer care. My mother in law stayed here and was treated with the utmost respect and staff did everything they could to help her adjust. They never hesitated to set up FaceTime calls with the family and were always kind yet firm when our large family was stretching their Covid-tired staff beyond capacity with our need to communicate. The building may not look like much but the focus is right where it needs to be, on their residents. I would highly recommend this facility. read more

My mother just spend three weeks at Rock Creek for rehab after a week-long hospital stay. The care and experience we had at Rock Creek was fantastic. Don't judge a building by the way it looks on the outside. While the building is very dated from the outside, the inside is a different story. It's very well lighted, extremely clean, and odorless. The staff are top notch, from the CNA's and assistants, to the RN's and physical and occupational therapy staff members. It's a very happy environment which his helpful when rehabbing. The only downside is that the rooms are very small for two people. We were very fortunate to get my mother a private room after two nights, which really made the difference. My mother complimented the food as well and they were very flexible about what they served for each meal. They also had a snack cart each day which was great. Having dealt with another Skilled Nursing Facility in Lincoln years ago for my Dad, this was the complete opposite experience. We have nothing but great things to say about Rock Creek! read more

Out of four different facilities my mom has been in over the years this is the first that ever followed my moms non weight barring order. After 3.5 years she is finally healed and I sincerely thank everyone in pt for not forcing her up too soon. Their wound care staff is competent, the CNAs treat patients with respect, and the nursing staff noticed an issue with the combination of drugs my mom was taking that others missed. This is also one of the cleanest skilled nursing facilities I have ever seen. The halls don't smell of urine and patients are not crying for help. If you have insurance that will not allow you to stay in Tahoe please avoid Placerville and go the extra mile to Rock Creek Care Center. read more

This place is a a joke I was there for a over 3 weeks staff is very rude cnadon't use gloves when doing vitals for patient I was there that scare of infection of scabe reported to upper management for not using gloves that's right I got was. This establishment is clearly substandard and needs to be put out of business the senior staff is too busy ignoring their situation. During my stay there in the latter half of 2014, they continually ignored the instructions of my physicians in favor of their own, these physicians that they chose to listen to probably can't pass their boards any longer and should have their license to practice revoked. read more

After my father became ill and was hospitalized, I needed to place him somewhere for care. I searched many places and this place was also recommended by the hospital. I am so glad that I choose rock creek care center, the staff is Awesome, the Doctor and nurses are so professional and knowledgeable. The center is very clean. They have a great physical therapy center and rec room for the tenants to enjoy numerous outings. I never thought I would have to be getting care like this for my Dad, but I am so greatful for Rock Creek Care Center. No place is perfect but this place is close. Caring staff, decent menu, clean. My step-dad was in three different care centers, this was the absolute hands down best. My 91 year old grandmother slipped and cracked her pelvic bone. After 4 days in the hospital, we had to quickly find a skilled nursing facility. Unfortunately we grandma to a place in Folsom called Folsom Care center. After spending one horrifying night in Folsom we knew there had to be something better. Luckily Rock Creek was accepting patients. Apprehensive at first because it seemed like an old building, we were pleasantly surprised at how clean and updated it was. From the very first visit, Brad and Regina made us all feel welcome. They even greeted grandma outside when the ambulance arrived, putting her mind at ease. Grandma spent 30 days here recovering. The staff was incredible. The CNA's, physical therapists, food service, admin, etc... were all extremely nice and accommodating. Every request was met without hesitation. You could tell that they really cared. It was a wonderful experience. read more
