Have you seen the movie "The Beach" with Leonardo DiCaprio? Remember that nasty, dirty motel he was at where he met the guy Mr. Duck? This place felt like how that place looked in the movie. Smells of cat urine smack you in the face the moment you open that room door. The floors feel dirty and nasty. The air is thick and smells like mildew and cat piss. You instantly regret believing those online profile pics. You realize you've been catfished. The valet person is unfriendly and you first think, "hmm. Maybe just a bad day." You go to check-in and that's a breeze. You walk towards the elevator and look back and see the receptionist who checked you in is looking at you. Later, you realize he's wondering how long you'll last. You go into the dated and dirty-floored elevator that took too long to get to you. It takes you up to the fourth floor where you enter into the lair of doom. A flimsy lock opens at your keycard and in you go. Peeling wallpaper, dirty doors, lifting floor tiles, stained windows. You feel like this is a mistake. Your family is too afraid to get into bed. They keep their outside clothes on to protect them from bedbugs. You go downstairs to ask to be moved to another room. The night worked, Yuta or Yura greets you with kindness. He apologizes and says that they're all booked up and no rooms are available. You ask him to check if someone might be leaving tomorrow so you can get an idea if there's somewhere to move to tomorrow. He apologizes and says that he can't share that info. You're confused. Why can't he check the computer and see who is leaving tomorrow that might open up some availability for you? You ask to clarify. "So, can you give me some kind of guess or estimate to see who might be leaving tomorrow? Or some kind of idea if the answer will be yes or no if we can change rooms?" He then begins to repeat himself three or four times while blinking profusely. "I'm so sorry I can't help you. I'm so sorry I can't, I'm so sorry I can't help you." Panic hits you as you've seen 20/20 and First 48 and this type of outburst looks familiar. You apologize and slowly back away. Now you have to find a new hotel because what the heck was that? You try to get some rest after a long flight and strange encounters. But you can't. There's yelling, hooting, hollering, and a loud and obnoxious bass thumping in the distance. All. Night. Long. Finally at 3 a.m. you look outside and see, there's a club outside and the patrons have now gathered in the street just below your balcony across the street. It doesn't matter that the windows and doors are all closed, these sliding doors are from the 80s and they're paper thin. Finally, morning arrives and you get up to watch the sunrise. That's nice. After you head back, you go to check out their "continental breakfast". It's just an awful joke that won't stop giving. After everyone in your family is awake and your bags are packed, you go to leave. Before leaving, you stop and talk with the receptionist, Yama, Yana, or Yara. She says she'll refund the resort fee since there is no true resort. She's heard these same complaints before and did not seem shocked at my reporting at all. This place is ideal for someone on a budget, traveling without kids, and who doesn't mind a little dirt under their fingernails. I get home a week later and find that the resort fee was not refunded, and I have to call them back again. After all fees and taxes, a one-night stay in Leonardo DiCaprio's nightmare motel was about $548 USD. Wow. What a tale. read more

First time at this hotel. We were able to get a discount due to relatives. The staffs are attentiveness, courtesy, and welcoming. We valet our car for a daily fee which was convenient. We didn't have to worry about parking space. Before heading out we called the front desk, 15 minutes before heading down and the car would be ready in the front. The hotel has continental breakfast from 6-9pm. Hotel lobby is welcoming with a koi fish pond, small swimming pool, a ramen noodle restaurant and a karaoke place on-site. Oasis is at a great location, with short walking distance to beaches, shopping, and public transportation. Its basically a convenient hotel for travelers. The rooms we got were on the 10th floor, spacious with two double bed, a small round table, fridge and television. The rooms are outdated as you can tell from the paint and furnishings. However the view from our rooms were nice. On the 2nd day our room was upgraded to a penthouse which is on the highest floor with a kings bed, sofa and kitchenette. There were many windows, a divider in between the living area and bedroom. The bathroom had a sliding door near the entrance and another door from the bedroom side. Toilet has a bidet. The hotel was just so and so. I think it's cheaper than others. We stayed about 3 nights. Some front desks were friendly and nice but were just ok. The breakfast were bad. Nothing excited. Donuts were not sweet and taste like nothing. Only white or wheat bread. Some cereals. Parking in the lot charge $45 per nights!! Pool was small. My family & I decided to staycation here during spring break. It was our first time staying here but they have such a cute lobby/seating area as well as a koi garden. The staff here are very friendly & the front desk really does take the time to make conversation and accommodate as much as they can. We checked into our Junior suite which included two double beds with a sofa bed & kitchenette,and a private lanai. The deep soak tub was a hit with our 3 kids! This hotel literally checked off pretty much everything we were looking for & the price was affordable. Better Than Sleeping in the Gutter, But Just Barely If you're torn between staying here or just pitching a tent in a sketchy alley, Oasis Waikiki might barely win out; assuming you enjoy AC units held together with duct tape and the thrill of MAYBE having a place to park your car. The lodging is... acceptable, if you set your expectations somewhere between "aging motel" and "grandma's basement that hasn't been updated since 1983." The decor has a charming "we gave up" vibe, and the AC sounds like it's on life support--probably because it is. Valet? Don't count on it. Andrew, the valet manager, confidently told us we could prepay to secure a spot, how cute. Reality check: when we pulled up, valet was full and shrugged us off like we were asking to land a helicopter. Ended up parking at the Hyatt Centric and paying $35 for the privilege of not being able to leave unless we wanted to pay $35 again. A parking scam wrapped in a lie wrapped in a lei. The hotel was a big disappointment. I used the valet and they damaged my car. When I tried to get the pictures they said they had upon checking it in they refused to help me. So what did they do. They actually had the nerve to not address the issue. The valet was a drug addic and got irate. The room was overlooking a parking lot that was filled with garbage, drug addics and prostitution. It's kind of a gym in a pile of dog shit in other words it's a decent place in a bad neighborhood.. just outside the hotel you got people doing drug deals and all kinds of crap tons of young punk people on the streets middle of the night doing nothing breaking into cars and running them up but once you get inside the hotel, it's pretty secure and a little oasis in the middle of that pile of crap. We have stayed at the aqua oasis many, many times. Every year! I wanted to give a big shout out to Andrew Shiira, Assistant General Manager. He is professional, yet friendly. He welcomes us warmly each time we visit. He tries his hardest to fulfill all of our requests//I don't know of any request he has failed at. The rooms are nice; we always get a suite. The staff is fantastic! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Great location. Breakfast was the typical continental consisting of bagels, cereal, toast, muffins, coffee and juice. Parking is $45 a night. The rooms are a good size, we got the "junior suite". The room, kitchen, bathroom, could use a lot of updating, lot of wear and tear. The air conditioning worked great! I told them about the mildew smell in my room and they sent in a "cleaning crew" that said they don't smell anything. I have asthma and can't breathe in mildew and mold all night. I woke up the next morning coughing up blood. It's kind of a joke here. For the price we are paying, the room feels worse than a motel 6 room. It was muggy even with the AC on full blast. Everything looks very dated, mini fridge was not working and they sent "maintenance" up with a non-contact voltage sensor, tapping the leads going to to the fridge then turned around and tell me "there is power, it should be working". The hallway outside the room was not carpeted, and around 6 am every day during our stay, we hear other guests leaving, rolling their luggages across the hallway waking everyone up along the way. They charge you a "resort" fee, but there were literally no amenities other than the pathetic little pool. The continental breakfast was also lackluster. DAY 1 to end. Duration July 1st-4th. Day 1 you book a hotel you get what you book when you get there typically when we got there we booked 3 rooms months in advance for 12 of us, a lot of us and needed 3 beds in two of the rooms and 1 bed in another. They had nothing ready said they upgraded us to a king bed and pull out couch bed I said NO THATS NOT WHAT I BOOKED AND NOT WHAT I PLANNED ON OR NEEDED!! The big large man and small older dark short hair lady with the colored eye shadow those are the monsters in this story who looked at me and said we don't have those rooms available I said but I booked and paid for that. They said yeah well we don't have it you can stay or leave as I stood there with my 3 kids they told me this. I said whatever not enough beds so we had people sleeping on the floor and then they refused to give us extra blankets or towels it was always an argument about how much stuff was already there then got back from a luau there was shift change that staff who then tried to say we didn't pay our valet and they had no record I found the ticket and then she was nice but she ignored any phone calls from our room I had to call via cell. Day 2 we were gone! All day! From 6am until maybe 4or 5! Came back that's when all hell broke lose our kids got in the pool my mother-in-law was watching my daughter and my son down at the pool when we get a phone call and she said that our son was bleeding dad goes downstairs to find his son bleeding from his hand because he went to get out of the Aqua oasis swimming pool and the ladder that you get out of had a sharp edge with no bumper so he took his son to the front desk to ask for a Band-Aid or some thing to stop the bleeding and they handed him one Band-Aid and one tiny thing ointment then he asked are you guys going to do anything and they (the aqua oasis staff as pictured.) just stare at him expressionless and he said he hurt himself in your pool at your hotel like what do we do and then they looked at him and questioned "wasn't he under your supervision?" he said no my mom was watching him she had to watch it happen and could not prevent it as the sharp edge is under water and then they said "well we will put that in our report" which then dad with frustration again asked for help and if they were just going to stand there and they weren't going to help then requested them to call an ambulance and they said oh no I'm calling the cops on you guys as my son stood there bleeding and crying they called the cops on our family because we requested them to help our son since he was injured in their pool they freaked out when we said call and ambulance you can tell they didn't wanna be responsible for this accident. Trying to get the workers to go fix it before the cops came I came down with my 4 month old and didn't know what was going on and old short hair eye shadow lady started putting her hand in my face saying ask my mother in law and then the big man said no we are calling the cops we are going to trespass you all! I HEARD THIS MAN ON THE PHONE WITH POLICE DISPATCH HE WAS SAYING WE WERE OUT OF CONTROL YELLING AND CUSSING AND if we were loud we weren't yelling at them we talk loud we are a big loud family and if we cuss it's in conversation with each other not at them. I was just trying to find out what happened they said my son my 7 year old with a bleeding hang skin cut open was exaggerating the way we were treated was absolutely insane and upsetting they refused to speak to us laughed at us and had us thrown out no remorse I had my 3 kids standing there watching the hotel staff be rude and cops too reading all the one star reviews I see that it's a trend for the Aqua Oasis to give the worst customer service, to be threatened to stay or leave if you don't like your room , to be trespassed ,and call law enforcement on guest and they probably are in Cahoots with the police because the cops immediately before they even spoke to us or rude yelling at us on the hotel side and accusing us of not watching our children even if my son was standing 5 feet away these cops tried to say I was neglecting my kids they also laughed at us they also made jokes they also yelled at us didn't let us talk we were told numerous times to calm down when we were just frustrated and trying to figure out why we were getting this treatment why they called the cops on us why they wanted to kick us out over my son cutting his hand in their unsafe pool.They kicked us out no remorse. 2 stars tops. But it makes sense for what i paid. Only getting 2stars because the customer service upon checking in was very professional and courteous. I arrived about an hour and a half before the 3pm check in, and was checked in right away since there was a room available. The outdoor lobby area was pretty decent, peaceful/calm setting. The pool was a little scary. (I had hopes in hanging by the pool whenever I wasn't at the beach). Upon going up the elevator, the lights at each door is cute, but the halls are a bit dark and there are no windows, so it felt a bit creepy. The room was pretty typical. 2 beds, tv, desk, closet, bathroom, a sink and mini fridge. It was a spacious room but it was more of a motel than a hotel. The patio was big, which I'll be honest, (took some great photos out there). I sanitized and wiped down everything i would be touching in the room. Even checked the bed/sheets for you know whats. At first glance everything looked fine. So i showered, got dressed and went to enjoy my day trip. I stayed in this "hotel" for 1 night. Thank god i didn't get too comfortable. Woke up the next morning and as i got up, i noticed little bugs on the pillow. I got out of the bed and noticed that there was a streak of dried blood (that wasn't there before i went to bed) turns out i guess i killed one of the bugs as i was sleeping. I had pulled the sheet back to make sure they weren't all over the bed..(they weren't). But when I pulled the sheets back, it caused the blanket in between the 2 sheets to be exposed, which popped out another BED BUG. Smh i quickly googled what to do with my clothes that I slept in. Before showering and leaving. Thankfully all my belongings were already packed and sitting on the desk. But it was definitely bed bugs. When I checked out, I attempted to address it with the guy at the front desk. He first said it looked like little roaches. So I explained to him and showed him the videos. He then said, "well ill let housekeeping know so that she'll check it and change the sheets" ummmm what?! Change the sheets? Thats how your resolving this issue? That's disgusting! So just be aware of the situation. I almost didn't want to write this but now that im back home and im seeing the bites on my arm, and im remembering what he said. I couldn't help it. Stayed at Aqua Oasis at the end of January 2022. We had a pretty good experience. Pros: - The staff was great and always available. - breakfast was included - free WiFi - there was only one elevator, but it was surprisingly fast. We never had to wait very long to go up or down. - Toto toilets in our room! Probably the fanciest toilets I've ever seen in any hotel. - it's very close to the hubbub of the Waikiki area. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go around here, such as the beach. - people came by to clean our room everyday - free water refills all day Cons: - looks kind of old inside - saw peeling paint - lighting was okay in the room, not a lot of lighting besides the bed. - parking was something like $40 a night. Plus it was valet parking - so you couldn't just grab your car and go. Also $40/night felt pricey to us, but I'm not sure about prices of surrounding garages. - Breakfast is outside, so many birds also know where to get free breakfast. Stayed mid-September, 2024. Our experience echos many of the other guests. Great location; staff were generally really helpful and nice; hotel itself is clean but a bit run-down. Breakfast is terrible--don't even bother. We stopped at Whole Foods on the way there and got breakfast stuff there and then just went out to get coffee every morning. Bed was very comfortable. Is noisy for a while once the bars let out. In summary, if you're not trying to impress anyone and can sleep in an urban environment, this place is great. One final note--parking is $45 a night, and because of the location, there's not really any way around that. In addition, I thought the "resort fee" only applied to resorts with independent condo ownership, but apparently not. So in short, whatever the quoted price is, expect to pay a quarter to a third on top of that. Still a good value. read more

Stayed here for a week. The rates are super affordable. The penthouse was decent. The hotel is old and in need of renovations. Bad: Dirty spots on walls and stains on carpet. Small elevator. Limited free parking (look on Ala wai) Cornflakes provided in continental breakfast are made from cardboard. No guests are allowed because covid, even if they are vaccinated hi locals. And the biggest issue was the 3° slant of the penthouse balcony. It doesn't feel safe at all and in the wet morning you could actually slip and fall on the tile flooring. On the adjacent side of our balcony in the hall there is a crack from floor to ceiling. This hotel looks nothing like the pictures advertised. It is disgusting. Our room had toenails and crumbs still on the carpet from previous guest. The bath had been plastered as it had a big hole in it. The light in the bathroom was rusted through and was a safety hazard. The breakfast was cereal that had birds eating from it and crawling all over the tables and food. The rooms are so noisy from the partying and people openly doing drugs in the carpark below all night with their boom boxes blaring all night. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It is a health and safety hazard, and the advertisement does not match the hotel at all. It is dated and filthy and not in a safe area. So we came to Hawaii renting an Airbnb but the day before wasn't available so we had to quickly pick a hotel. Oasis came up on booking.com and looking at the pictures it seemed amazing. I should have booked directly through and I would have got a better discount because they do have AAA discounts and military discounts. They also have discounts for first responders. They also have discounts if you stay more than one day. All of these things would have been great to know ahead of time because I think we would have stayed here the whole time. The rooms were so comfortable and cool, the beds were firm but not like rocks like a good quality mattress. Rooms elevator smelled fabulous. And not to mention it is so close to everything Waikiki. The staff was so friendly I can't believe how much stuff I forgot I forgot my toothbrush I needed a towel so that my daughter can go into the pool there was a shower by the pool, but the pool is kind of small but that's okay you're not really here for the pool you're here for the beach and the surrounding areas. They have really cute turtle ponds and koi ponds next to the lobbying for you to enjoy and when I tell you these were the biggest koi fish I've ever seen I mean it I have never seen a koi fish as big as my arm. The staff was so friendly anytime we needed our car they were right there to drop it off anytime we needed the Bell hop to come up and take our luggage he was there within a few minutes everything was very well taken care of. The continental breakfast is less to be desired but I can understand because they know you're just going to get up and go so they just had coffee tea muffins POG juice and fruit cups. Heavy elevator noise while we were sleeping We booked this hotel back in April, 2-3 months ago, we checked in on July 2 .. They booked the room 700 with heavy elevator noise, we had a baby with us and the baby could not sleep and was crying. We asked the receptionist if they could do anything (such has change rooms, etc.) Here, the receptionist said we had 2 choices, to stay, or leave. We were outraged at this for, we had this booked for a few months just to be told to leave or deal with this, definitely not worth the money we paid. There's an ABC store within a block of the hotel and a whole host of restaurants that you can choose from.. I liked a lot about this place. The room was clean and large, kitchen was great and spotless, balcony was large as well as the bathroom and closet. Breakfast was pretty good, nicer than expected. Maybe it was due to covid but I called ahead of time to ask abt parking and the pool but no one answered. Messaging online read it may take a week for the hotel to reply. Valet was not available although there was a stand set up. We sat in our truck 15-20 minutes waiting for someone to come to the stand or our vehicle. Finally, I left the vehicle on the road and went to check in or look for a valet. Turns out, there was no room, and they recommended I park behind the hotel property. It was $2 dollars an hour so $48 a day and I was staying 2 nights. I said that it didn't look safe and they gave me a coupon for an Outrigger garage for $25 overnight if you go down a block. That seemed good however, they process is, you park on the third floor, go down to the second floor to pay, go back to the third-floor to leave the ticket in your car. You can only pay cash and only per day so the next morning you must go back to the third-floor and repeat the process; get your ticket fr the vehicle on the third floor, go down to the second floor and pay, go back to the third-floor and leave your ticket on the dash. Pretty much, figure parking and checking in as an hour and the pool closes at 4! My kid was in her bathing suit on the way and had to tell her it wasn't happening. Unfortunately, this is not a good hotel. I cannot recommend it. The staff are nice, but the rooms are terrible. My room smelled like mildew and mold. I complained about the smell and asked to be moved to another room, and that room was slightly better, but still smelled very bad (mildew and mold). The smell made it very difficult for me to breathe and sleep. There were also ants in the bathroom in the room that I was staying in. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The hotel was decent. Weird thing is they don't have any dressers in the room. Just a large TV with a few small drawers. Was there for a week and on the most part was living out of my suit case. The Breakfast Buffett is very disappointing. The coffee is great, but all they offer is a little bit of choice of fruit. Bagels (we had to buy our own cream cheese at the store). Other bread items and some cereal. No eggs, meat etc...... personally I would like something a little more hardy. The staff was very friendly except for the woman at the sightseeing desk. Some of the people had left there plates on the table and she yelled across the patio to them to bus there own table. Saw her do that on more than one occasion. Maybe it would help if they had a sign up asking people to do that she wouldn't have to yell so much. Overall the room was very comfortable and close to everything we wanted to do. Aqua Oasis is a 3 star hotel with 4 star staff and services. For being one of the cheaper options in Waikiki the hotel is not bad. Definitely needs an upgrade, but they try hard to offer resort style amenities like a very small pool, lounge area, breakfast and koi pond. The best part of my stay was the friendly and very accommodating staff and complimentary museum tickets to two really great museums. Parking fee is overpriced, but speak to the hotel and they have another self park option for half the price at a nearby garage. The worst part of my stay was breakfast. The food options are simple (Muffins, cereal, bagels and pineapple) and to eat you essentially have to guard your food from the birds. Birds walk on the tables where you serve yourself pecking at crumbs. It is an annoyance and unsanitary so really should be addressed. Staff occasionally tries to scare them away but makes little difference. Go down to the tables near the check in desk for a little more peace while eating. Location is a few steps away from luxury retailers like Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Not right on the beach but in walking distance. Great home base for more exploring like taking the 45 min drive out to North Shore for a more relaxed Hawaiian experience. read more

The most horrible place to stay !! This is a warning , Whare everything bad happens this is the place ! Whare should I begin , we booked 6 months in advance , we booked 4 rooms . It was a big family , I talked to the hotel and asked them To make sure to have 3 beds , when we arrived we over heard a lot of people complaining about there rooms , Sure enough they gave us rooms 4 rooms with only one bed In each room for 12 people ! Next the staff used our rental to grab themselves lunch , we did not give them Permission. 3rd my gRandson cut his hand coming out of the pool , the ladder has a sharp edge , missing the bumpers , we reported it and they called the police on US because they did not want to take responsibility, so we called the ambulance , the manager was so angry that we involved , the ambulance!!! he ends up kicking out our entire party of 12 . They called the police and told them we were trespassing !! Omg ! I asked for a full refund and yes we ended up going to another hotel ! These people are Horrible !!! management is horrible !!! The place is run down and horrible !! Do not ruin your vacation , don't stay here ! They don't know the meaning of Aloha read more
