View from our room and the person who gave us a hard time on the 13th floor room 1308
    Khalil W.

We rented out unit 1408, which is on the 14th floor. We paid over 2k for 4 nights for a get away. We are 3 nights in to our vacation and it has been the worst experience of our lives. Directly below us "apparently there is a board member for the building." Not sure what his name is. He has reported us to security like 5 times. First for playing normal music on the balcony on a Friday night at 9pm. He then accused us of vaping and continued to harass us for the last 3 nights. Every night we smell marijuana and other scents from our balcony and apparently he loved to blame us. The man would literally go to his balcony when he would hear us, stick his head out and try and look at our suite. He even tried taking pictures and would look up and try to find an excuse to call security. We were and are getting harassed, we wasted a small fortune getting this place thinking we will enjoy paradise. It's 12:23am right now and I just caught him looking up at our balcony. I will report his behavior to the BBB, get in touch with the board. We called security to report this creepy behavior along with telling them to come check our room for marijuana, smoke or anything else that makes them feel comfortable to prove that we didn't do anything wrong. His entire agenda is to get us kicked out! Stay Away!

It was held in the Waialae Ballroom on a Saturday afternoon with lunch being served for all the guests. What a beautiful location where you can see the lush garden just outside, the pacific ocean was a few yards away when you're done eating, you're free to roam the area and see the beautiful architecture and structure of this fabulous hotel. I was not able to play tourist as this party had to end by 2pm and I had commitments thereafter. But for future hotel guests information, they also have dolphins for you to see. The food here was incredible and of good quality. Good for any type of gatherings of any size breakfast, lunch or dinner. Bartenders and service at the bar was even better! The amount of attention every table was receiving was amazing, glasses were never empty and always started with a full pour. Self parking was completely full, although valet parking service was a better idea. Keep in mind this is a full service 5 star property located in Kahala/Waialae. You can watch the dolphins for nothing. Regardless of how you may feel about captive animals performing for human profit, this is one of the most humane, they say. The people doing the Quest looked happy. We went to two different bars. The pool bar is a beautiful setting, the cocktails were delicious, the service was adequate , the waiter was a jerk. He wore goofy, rainbow reflective sunglasses. I felt once he found out we were not regular guests, he did not care about pleasing us. I was a little embarrassed as we were treating our cousins from Missouri to the Aloha culture. He was adding a 22% service charge, so he didn't care. We had to ask for everything. We ordered 3 things to share, we asked for side plates. He pointed out there were liners under the bowls, 3 plates for 5 people. I was glad he added service as My husband and I usually over tip and I would have, and then resented it. For a fancy resort I was underwhelmed. 3 and 1/2 really but they get the extra half because the other staff we met were lovely.

The Banyan Wing is the original Victorian-era building which is listed on National Historic Registry and houses the main lobby and restaurant. Our Tower room had a great covered patio with incredible views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. We spent a lot of time on the patio watching the surfers, catamarans, and enjoying the island breeze. Our balcony was spectacular :o Our room was updated and very comfortable. I understand the owners completed a full renovation of all rooms in 2026. The beach bar is one of the best in the world. Cold cocktails, beer and wine. Good service. Great views! The drawbacks.... The pool is small and very crowded, especially for 791 rooms. With that said everyone in the pool was smiling and having fun. The beach is also pretty small for such a massive hotel. At high tide the hotel only has about 30 feet of beachfront and it is a public beach so it is crowded Rio style. For us this was not a drawback as we love Waikiki, the birthplace of Hawaiian surfing, and spend most of our time in the surf. Hawaii and Waikiki is one of the few places that completely lives us to the hype year after year and generation after generation. We can't wait to return. Aloha & Mahalo

We flew in on Monday and checked into a room with dirty sheets. Not exactly the welcome you expect. That evening, we saw a notice saying the water would be shut off the next day from 9:00-11:00 a.m. We spent the morning at the beach and the small pool. One odd thing to note: to get to the pool, you have to walk through Duke's outdoor dining patio in your wet swimsuit while people are eating. It's a very strange layout. The bigger problem was that the water was still off after 1:00 p.m. There were no working toilets, sinks, or showers, and even the hallway ice machine wasn't working because there was no water. We complained to the front desk and were simply told there was nothing they could do. The next morning, we were awakened at 6:00 a.m. by loud hammering overhead, followed by power tools starting around 8:30 a.m. When we stepped onto our balcony, construction debris was actually falling from the floor above. In the hallway, water was leaking through a ceiling light fixture. Security acknowledged the leak and said someone was coming to address it. The front desk acted as though this was the first they had heard of the construction. They insisted it was happening on the 10th floor, nowhere near our room on the 6th floor. I walked upstairs myself and immediately found a crew of construction workers gathered outside the elevator on the 7th floor--yelling to one another, hammering, with construction materials and debris everywhere. Clearly, the hotel knew there was active construction directly above occupied guest rooms. The next day the noise started at 5:30am. We called the desk and they said security was putting a stop to it. When I went downstairs security had no idea. Rowena at the front desk gave me the manager's business card, but every call went straight to voicemail. I was told the manager would arrive at 8:30 a.m. I never received a return call. This hotel is poorly managed. If construction is taking place directly above guest rooms, those rooms should not be rented. Between the dirty sheets, extended water outage, nonstop construction noise, falling debris, and lack of management response, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've experienced. Also my courregges vintage sunglasses went missing from our room and I'd really like them back and credit for this memorable disappointment. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

After a disappointing first room, they immediately helped move us to a much nicer upgraded room that felt far more in line with what you'd expect from a Ritz-Carlton property. That said, the original room was surprisingly dated, worn down, stained furniture, and not especially clean. Definitely not the luxury standard I was expecting for the price point. The second room was significantly better and saved the stay. The spa was another standout. Excellent treatments, knowledgeable staff, and one of the better spa experiences we had in Waikiki. You can tell the spa team takes pride in what they do. Unfortunately, the food across the property was consistently underwhelming. Honestly some of the weakest meals we had during our time in Waikiki, especially considering how many great dining options are nearby. The pool area was also pretty average, nice enough, but nothing memorable or particularly luxurious compared to other resorts in Hawaii. Overall, this place has incredible service but the actual property and food don't fully live up to the Ritz-Carlton name as one would think.

The Bathroom. - one sink with a little counter top space but sufficient. The toilet was also bidet in the master bath. The shower pressure on 21st is ok but low, but it did the job. The Ac in room was awesome! It gets super cold, if you need it, quickly. It was nice for those hot humid days of walking in Waikiki. It had an In-room mini fridge and bar sink with 4 real drinking glasses, which I like. Hated there was no freezer in the mini fridge But the bell hop station offers to freeze ice packs, or whatever you need, for you. We had 3 sliding doors with west views and moderate views of Waikiki beach. The Second bedroom has own bath with also a single sink, toilet and shower- No bidet. The room/bedding/bathrooms were clean with no mold in the showers. The furniture showed a little wear but nothing excessive. The Elevators were fast! The pool, mangers reception and breakfast are all on the 4th Floor (terrace level). Breakfast was typical of Embassy Suites, I like the made to order omelette which makes it much better. Lots of fresh fruit and even some miso soup and other Japanese/Hawaiian offerings. The Staff was awesome and super friendly. I Used valet every day. Great service, fast and practical IMO but hard to swallow the daily fee. The hotel was attacked to the Waikiki beach walk. Island vintage coffee was a regular stop for coffee and sometimes breakfast. Order coffee or food to go online after 8am to save a ton of time standing in line. Hotel was Very close to all ththe shops. Awesome location. Much better location than Hilton Hawaiian village location!!! Our fav restaurant close by the hotel was Kana Pilla and Monkey Pod, which were across the street. Make sure to make Open Table reservations for both way ahead of time. I did mine 2 months out. Housekeeping willing to clean and supply new towels daily however linens are not cleaned but every 5 day, unless you request it, which they are happy to do! Views from 21st floor were awesome and all 21st floor rooms had extensive balconies. 3 sliding doors. Keep in mind Ac doesn't work, yes the fan blows, when the doors are open!! It's too humid at night to sleep with them open so we had them open for select times, mostly am. There's a Washer/dryer laundry room on site, 3rd floor only. It was Very convenient especially packing 4 days of clothes for a 10 day trip so our suitcases weren't stuffed . Use laundry room on sundays/mon or late evenings when people are too busy arriving and leaving. $5.25 to each wash load and I think $4.75 to dry. Washers only wash with cold which I like. Perm press on dryer seemed to dry all our shirts and socks well. We hung our nice Aloha shirts on the hangers in the room and they dried within a day. Washer and dryers take credit cards. Yes they're is a soap machine that also takes credit cards. I didn't use and just bought soap from ABC. ABC stores are EVERYWHERE so don't lug around suntan lotion or waters in your suitcase. Just buY at ABC which is only 20 steps away. FYI ABC doesn't no GIVE out bags for items unless you spend over a certain amount. ANC bags cost like .50 cents. ABC has Awesome poke and alcohol (spirit and beer) choices. Yes single purchase tall beers too. Don't forget the free brief fireworks show in front of the Hilton Hawaii Village on Friday nights only. We saw them set off at 7:45p by the lagoon. It's amazing how many people attend so be prepared for the crowds to and from. Big tip: make open table reservations for all your restaurants months ahead! All places are super busy until about 8:45 pm on most nights. Hope I helped.

One big concern was the snacks on the 5th floor. We came across moldy bread, which was definitely concerning. I would think the staff would check the food before putting it out, especially considering this is not a cheap hotel. I loved that we could grab coffee every morning from Honolulu Coffee without having to leave the hotel. The lines can get long, but the service is fairly quick. The staff, overall, were not very welcoming and often seemed serious. However, on Monday, June 29, there was an older woman who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She really stood out and made us feel appreciated. One other issue was that the body wash in our room was never refilled, so we ended up not having any during our stay. We also requested a later check out and our key cards aren't working. The front desk never mentioned anything about need to change keys cards if we had a later check out and now we're outside our rooms having to go back downstairs and change our key cards. And they were making it complicated because they wanted my drivers license even though it's in the room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the beautiful views, great amenities, and delicious breakfast made it a memorable family vacation.
