Jessica and her team have been fantastic. I have taken my 1.5 year old golden retriever to her 2x and she always comes back looking like she is ready to go to a dog show. They clearly take their time to fully bathe and brush her. Her prices are also reasonable. Jessica also was extremely accommodating and very generously did a house call for my parents 16 year old dog for a much needed nail trim. Not only did she squeeze him in, but did his nail trim after she had worked an entire weekend day. Sama Lama Ding Dong's first grooming with Oasis was just today. I got home to a new (and very tired) dog. And he looks so cute I can't stand it. My Mister said he responded with "maybe not so short next time and the tail a little fluffier", but when I saw him I said, "this look is amazing! BTS dog band adorable!" Let me explain: Our dog hadn't been groomed in many, many months. I had been diagnosed with advanced cancer (NED now) and had no energy or time to take him for grooming. My Mister was working 14-18 hour days due to publishing deadlines with no real breaks. So Ding Dong's fur had gotten more than a bit outta control. He was like Sasquatch dog - fur too long, matted (like a multiple bird's nests), and smelly. Tonight he's Korean boy band cute. So cute. So wholesome. From the very first weeks of puppy-hood my doggie's been going to the groomer. Every 5 weeks it was the same thing: barking and snarling; biting the hand that brushed her; desperate escape attempts. Tammy, the owner and most patient woman on the planet, has for years assured me that my dog is not her worst dog. I don't believe her but do appreciate the lie. Today my doggie got a mud wrap and full body massage - hey, I did say it was a spa, right? We recently moved to Columbia City, and we were in desperate need for a new groomer for our 160 lb Newfoundland. I read a few good and a few bad reviews on yelp regarding the Dog Spa, so I was nervous to try them, but I had a neighbor who said they were wonderrful. They were right! I couldn't have been happier. In the past seven years we have taken her to four or five different groomers, depending on where we lived, and some of them were a disaster. If I ever move again, I would make the drive, in order to have the piece of mind that my old dog, will be treated gently, and with a lot of patience. The Dog Spa was amazing with her. They were the first groomer who gave her the perfect summer shave, while maintaining her adorable newfie cuteness. Past groomers have left bald spots, or left me thinking I was picking up a poodle, instead of my big newfie love. Most importantly, they were extremely gentle. Lilly is 9 years old, and has many health issues. The owner and the rest of the staff were very sensitive to her physical limitations, giving her breaks, and letting her lay down for as much of the grooming that this was possible for. (that couldn't have been easy on thier backs) When I picked her up, she looked like a puppy, her haircut was adorable, and she was very happy, and so were we. See pictures. read more

In 2021 when Jessica (the owner) asked me to write a review, I totally loved this business, in the time since then I have completely changed my opinion. Our last visit to Oasis was in September after we had donated $300 to their 'go fund me' campaign for their new mobile business. Since then I have received many emails (as recently as this morning) telling me about the cost of grooming an encouraging me to 'text or call' to set up an appointment. Our next visit was scheduled for 12/12/23 and since October, I have texted numerous times with no response, I've called both numbers I have for them and neither one is accepting calls. I messaged on FB without a reply so it seems they have completely ghosted me and the dogs. Perhaps our donation wasn't 'sufficient' or our tips of 15% on top of the charge was too little. I will be getting a new groomer for our girls and hopefully one who believes in treating their clients with simple decent courtesy. read more

Took my boy Bugsy, a 3 yr. old Pit Bull Terrier, for his first grooming experience ever yesterday. Jessica and her staff were wonderful and made him feel at home right away despite his very excited and rambunctious disposition. When I picked him up a couple of hours later he was back to his handsome self and smelled like a flower and had lost his normal sweaty gym sock aroma. He even got a swell bandana out of the deal that he must like because it is still intact around his neck and has not been torn into tiny bits. Jessica is great with the pups I would recommend her services to anyone with a dirty dog. We will be returning to Oasis again and again. I would also like to note that I read some of the other older reviews before typing mine. My dog, Penny, has become a regular here for nail clipping, which is a drop in service. Sometimes, we have to wait to be waited on (there is only one receptionist for three services (dog beauty, u wash dog, and doggy day care), but it is always a friendly wait. Penny is a big girl with a massive head and the folks are not intimidated by her size, her head, or a her breed. Jessica, who has always worked on Penny, is patient and Penny is getting more and more used to having her feet touched and clipped. Penny has recently developed a need for anal gland treatment, and I scheduled a fanny, face, and feet treatment. Penny was returned all happy and clean smelling, but Jessica couldn't get at the anal glands, which were in a weird spot. We'll schedule another appointment periodically for the bath, but we'll still need to schedule the anal gland treatment at the doctor's office. I have another friend who takes her pittie here, and she is able to get the full treatment. She also only has good things to say about the Dog Spa. read more

To be clear, THIS is the groomer that is located inside of "A Dog's Life" Doggie Daycare. There is another spot on Yelp that is called The Dog Spa, with the same address, but it has reviews from before this location opened. On the one hand I like that I can drop in with my dog to have his nails done. On the other hand, they have NO POSTED HOURS and the owner is kind of a jerk. I called to schedule an appointment to have my dog's nails done, was told they don't schedule for that but that I could drop in anytime. But, when I did so, I was told that they weren't open yet (THERE ARE NO POSTED HOURS, it's 10 AM and you're in the grooming area, with the lights on, with a dog... HUH?!) and that they wouldn't have time for me because it was only her working today. Luckily for me the kind woman who was working the doggie day care told me she would do my dogs nails, and she did. The next time I came by, and I had pretty much written them off but its the closest place to me and my dog hates to be in the car so..., the assistant was VERY accommodating and friendly. The only uncomfortable part of that visit was when the owner came by and started yelling at her assistant. Really unprofessional lady! But, they are local, my dog loves the assistant and they're in my price range so, I'm liking it! read more

I recently moved to Seattle and was looking for a groomer for my service dog. On one of our walks I stopped in to scope out the place. They happened to have had a cancellation and offered to take my dog on the spot. I was back an hour before they promised she would be ready (I'm the one with separation anxiety - not the dog). She was almost done when I returned and I only waited a few minutes before my clean, great smelling, HAPPY dog was returned to me. There is a big difference between a beloved pet and a service dog. These folks know the difference and acted accordingly. The spa is clean, the grooming area is visible from the lobby but well protected from the public. I am very excited to have found a place that I will be comfortable taking my girl to. A hearty thumbs up, five star and everything that is good in the world to the Dog Spa of Seattle. Groomer wears industrial hearing protection, should your dog do the same? Terrible experience! My dog's usual groomer was fully booked for a few more weeks so I decided to try out the Dog Spa of Seattle. About 2.5 hours after I had dropped my dog off I received a call from the receptionist saying that I should hurry over to pick up my dog as he was acting up and could not be controlled. When I arrived, the groomer had left and the receptionist rudely ( one hand on her hip no less) informed me that my toy poodle was very difficult and could not be controlled. I found this extremely hard to believe as my 15 yo poodle (who has the mildest nature) has been to groomers all throughout his life and this is the first time I had heard anything close to this. I asked to see my dog and he was half groomed and in a mess with short hair on the body and long hair on the front! I was then asked to pay for the full amount of $70! I was also told by the receptionist very unprofessionally that my dog "could have died" on the grooming table! Omg I have no idea what they could do on a grooming table to kill a dog! I have worked with animals all my life in veterinary hospitals and the most basic requirement of any nurse or vet is to be able to handle animals safely and competently. I also noticed something I have never seen before at any other groomers-- the staff were wearing industrial ear muffs. I have no idea what equipment that they use to warrant this and can only imagine how traumatic this must be for dogs given their much more acute sense of hearing. Unfortunately- rude reception staff with a bad attitude, groomer can't competently manage a small dog and the fact they tried to make me pay full price for a half completed job-quite dishonest indeed! read more

I usually just do walk-in appointments here for my old man's nail trims. They do a good job and it's really quick. I've also had bathing done here and they've done a fine job each time. I'm totally content with their services and my dog doesn't stress out when I bring him here, so that's a huge bonus for me. They also remember my dog by name even if they don't necessarily remember me, which I also like. They know who the real customer is. :) I find their prices to be okay for the simple services I need, and the customer service to be mostly good. read more

Since we had such a good experience the last time at the Dog Spa of Seattle we returned when our cat rolled in bark and got a bunch of mats. I looked at the prices online and it appeared that the price would be $65 for the grooming. When my husband took our cat in for his appointment he was told that the charge would be at least $120 and possibly more. When my husband asked how much more he was told they didn't know as it would depend on the amount of work. So, we were evidently supposed to pay whatever figure they came up with. Previous groomers that have worked on our dog from this establishment have done an excellent job and were great with customer service. They said our boy did a good job, although a little skiddish. The owner stated to us last time we were there she has lost staff so we've had to deal directly with her. We can roll with change, but the cake topper is we've found her to be quite rude, inflexible and bossy-telling us how we were wrong about what our vet told us about our dogs skin condition, changing our appointment time last minute and then refusing to see our dog when we were late after we told her it was not convenient for us but we would try to accommodate her. We had never been late before. This week we were told by the owner she no longer grooms "big dogs" after several of her staff have groomed our dog for over a year, and have never mentioned any problems. When calling the voicemail she states return calls will be made within 24 hours. We called for over a week before we received a phone call to inform us of this apparent change, which sounds highly suspicious. Honesty, kindness and promptness would have gone a long way. So if you have a "big dog" this is not the place for you, as apparently she no longer takes them. read more

We day care our two Malamutes there and would occasionally have the Dog Spa do a grooming etc. I have NEVER come away from dealing with them feeling satisfied about the work done. Its all just OK. Dog Mania up on Mt Baker literally puts them to shame - true they are a tad more expensive but my boy comes out ready to go on show. Cant say that for Dog Spa - they never have done their nails properly, the de-shed seems very half assed. The worst part is the always seem very dis-organized and very apathetic to any concerns. I wouldn't recommend it and put it like this since they have moved I have not seeked them out to see where they went. read more

I've been taking my dogs (3) here for years even before she moved to this new location. I've recommended this groomer to my friends as well. Tami the owner is not only a dog lover (she has 5 dogs that she brings to work with her!) but a talented groomer. My dogs have been to big name brand groomers and depending upon the groomers some have not done a good job grooming. When Tami closed for an emergency I brought my Pomeranian to Petsmart and when I picked him up he cried every time I touched him or picked him up. The groomer there was rough handed with my senior 8yr old dog and totally did horrible hack job on his beautiful Pomeranian fur. That was the last straw and have stuck to Tami ever since. I will follow her wherever she goes ! Her shop is convenient on Rainier and has plenty of parking. It's clean and her hours are flexible even open on Sundays! She made it convenient to book online on her website as well as calls you back promptly if you leave a message on her business phone. She will also take walk-ins for a quick nail clip $15. I've taken my Pomeranian, Pomsky and Bischon Shitzu to her dog salon. Her prices are comparable to other groomers but she treats your dogs like her own. I highly recommend her and love her cheerful personality as well as her love for her rescue dogs! read more

What a great groomer! Extremely clean and bright! You can see the groomers trimming your dogs behind the glass. The owner is a professional groomer who has won awards. She did an excellent cut on my Yorkie! I didn't know how to describe what I wanted and she knew exactly the cut I was looking for! My dog came out looking adorable with little rhinestone glue on earrings!!! (They didn't bother her a bit, like the bows do, and stayed on for several weeks!) I have taken my siberian husky to the dog spa and when I picked him up he seemed rattled and had eye mucus flowing from his eyes for the rest of the day. However, it was not until my knowledge of several people in the neighborhood and their terrible experiences that I was horrified. A dog's eye retina was sliced open by a groomer and another dog contracted a liver infection from bacteria at the dog spa. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I can say NEVER go to this place or I will never go back again. I went to this place based on some of the ratings for this place. I can say that the people that gave it 3 stars or less were right on. I can't believe how unprofessional these people were and I'm questioning where the positive reviews come from. Here is my experience: I had 3 dogs and as soon as we walked in we noticed how run down the place actually is. one of the girls came to get all of the dogs- not knowing which dog it was especially since I had special things that I wanted for all of the dogs. I finally said a little loudly that I would like for them to stop and let me talk about what I want for my dogs. She slowed down and I was able to talk to Jessica in detail what I wanted. My friend was really concerned because there was no interaction with the dogs and no one said anything kind or even tried to comfort the dogs. From their behavior, I could see that my dogs didn't want to be there. I found Jessica to be nice and I asked her to explain price and what is included in each price. It seems to me that they nickel and dime you for everything that they do. There are extra charges for other things that I wasn't used to so I wanted to make sure I understood what they were going to do at what price especially since what we talked about on the phone is different than what was quoted to me on the phone. Once the girl took the dogs I continued to talk to Jessica and while I was filling out the forms I can hear the girl in the back speaking rudely and loudly, saying to one of the dogs to stop it. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!!! First thing, my dogs are like my kids and I never want anyone to talk to my girls like that. In addition, my dogs are from shelters so they are nervous or skiddish when it comes to bathing. I told Jessica that I can hear her and I never want her talking to my dogs like that. When I came back I noticed that they closed the door this time and that the same girl was a little aggressive with a black lab. So I was worried the whole time that I was waiting for my dogs. I was praying that they didn't do anything bad to my dogs. I should have followed my instincts and left with my dogs but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I wanted to give them a chance and not overreact.When we got there one of the ladies came out to tell us verbally how much we should pay, no paper as to what was done no receipts. The price was higher than what was discussed. I told her that I needed a receipt so that I could see what she was charging us for. Of course, the amount was wrong. I couldn't believe it she came out with a scratch piece of paper with everything written out in pencil. It was so unprofessional. I looked at the prices and told her where she was over charging me and she actually started arguing with me. She told me that I was wrong and I told her that the actual price was listed on the board behind her. At this point I just wanted my dogs. I asked to see my dogs so that I could see what they did with my dogs and she refused. I asked for Jessica to come out so that I can talk to her about what we discuss, she said that she was busy. Jessica was looking right at me and I could see her through the glass wall. All I can say if you are too busy to talk to your customers or to provide some sort of customer service then you don't need my business. This went on for at least 45 minutes. She was extremely rude and just continued to argue with me. Finally she gave me a printed receipt, now she overcharged me by $5 but she gave me that amount in cash after I pointed it out. The situation was horrible. Not only were my dogs ( I watched other dogs being handled aggressively and yelled at) treated badly but I was given such a horrible experience that I would never go back there. Well this business missed out on over $400 a month and no referrals. I'm going back to Petsmart. When they finally brought my dogs to me I noticed that they did not cut the hairs on the back end on one of my dogs (around her butt). I pointed it out to her and she said they charged extra to cut the hairs on that area. WHAT THE...? Who wants their dog to have long hair around the butt area and why does that require a special type of cut? By the way I bought the face, feet and fanny package but I was told I had to pay extra to cut the hairs around that area. At that point I wanted to get out of there so I didn't say anything. Also I have to mention that they glued some type of jewelry on my dogs ears. I never heard of anyone doing that or was told about it. It was so difficult to take that stone off of their ears and it hurt my dogs. Why don't I glue a stone to their skin and pull it off so that they can see how it feels? It took days to get it off. I had a classic "Seattle Nice" experience at this establishment (and that is not a compliment). I experienced this establishment and the owner as incredibly rude, condescending, and dishonest. I had an appointment but was refused service which has never happened in my entire life, not even in the south where I grew up. My beautiful doodle has been groomed here before. In fact, we used to be regulars before they moved from the columbia city location, and even followed them to the new location. We stopped patronizing this establishment, however, after being charged an additional $40-$60 for several appointments in a row pursuant to claims that our dog's hair took time to comb out. Well, that's what the groomer's are paid for; in fact that is their specialty. It is called doing your job. Really troubled by this regular occurrence, I conducted my own unscientific experiment of combing my dog out each time before taking him in for his appointment. Yet, we still were charged exorbitant amounts of money. It became apparent that either they just didn't want to serve us, charged us more to discourage our business (although we have the means to pay whatever was charged) or something far more sinister was afoot. So, we voted with our feet and left. Our dog has been groomed by a few other places since and absolutely no one has complained that he is difficult to groom; that's right, I pay a regular grooming fee of around $80, but no other grooming establishment has charged me $50 more based what appeared to be a very curious, if not bogus, claim by folks at the Dog Spa. We take extremely good care of our dog including his coat. He is a real show stopper according to people who greet us when we are out with him. We regularly receive compliments from strangers who just want to pet him. Thus, the only inferences to draw from our experience is either that the groomer is incompetent, unwilling to serve certain people in the community, or out to gouge customers for her own gain, any of which are just unconscionable. I have no problem paying for quality service, but this struck me initially as odd, and after my own "investigation," it was quite unbelievable and disappointing. It is appalling when businesses locate themselves in an area of town that is one of the most diverse zip code in the country and treat those within that community with disdain and disrespect. This is not a recipe for continued success regardless of how long one has been in business. I cannot recommend this establishment at all. Understandably, experiences are subjective. For me, however, it is not only the method of service that matters, but the manner in which it is provided. Of course, in Seattle, we don't want to raise difficult issues like bias, that is in fact the "Seattle Nice" way of doing business, but I would ask that you seriously consider what kind of business you are patronizing before you take your dog here. I love The Dog Spa. Over the years, I have taken 3 of my dogs there once every month, and I have followed them even tho The Spa has moved further away from my house. Tami and Jessica are kind and warm, wonderful groomers, and Tami has won national grooming awards....At least once, she has won first prize. Tami is also a nationally recognized expert on dog behavior.....She is regularly featured on the radio. Even tho my dogs are timid little breeds, they are always happy to see Tami and Jessica and not nervous at all when I drop them off. Everyone at The Dog Spa has always been courteous and friendly to me no matter how busy they may have been at the time. I have personally witnessed them dealing with "difficult" dog owners and admired their patience and tact at all times.
