However, we gave her the days and times we needed her agency and she told us they just needed 24 hours and they would be able to service us. We called the agency the next day, less than 24 hours later, after we met with Rachel to let them know we wanted them onboard. They told us they didn't have enough staff. She gave us no indication that this may be an issue when she came to the house at the meeting and we were left with the impression they had PLENTY of staff to fill our needs. We felt our time was wasted by this agency when we needed to find help promptly as he cannot be left alone ever. We are angry. If you contact them before they waste your time with a meeting, make sure they have the capability to meet your needs, so you do not waste your time.

My son (who took intermittent family leave) and I provided all the hands on care for my husband under the guidance of the hospice nurses. My husband told me that talking to his hospice nurse and her oversight made him feel less anxious. And he was very relieved that his pain/discomfort was managed so well. He had an assigned primary nurse M-F and weekend nurses visited as needed. We had frequent visits in the last few weeks. They facilitated our parents' demise and somehow, made the most difficult time imaginable markedly worse.
