Love this place. My favorite is the sugar raised yeast donut, which is absolutely heavenly, but the strawberry and chocolate cake donuts come a close second. I've also tried the apple fritter, which is the most obnoxious (in a good way) baked good I've ever laid my eyes on... that thing is the size of a basketball and it took my boyfriend and me about four days to finish. Everything here is to-die-for delicious, so try a donut here and weep like the rest of us. But don't get here before me in the morning, or else I might not be able to get my share! read more

Delicious doughnuts. I wake up at 6:30 just to get there before they sell out. Every time I'm down the shore my aunt and I go. Jelly sticks are phenomenal, and so is the crumb cake. My review is based upon the sheer fact that my 4 year old told me these are the best donuts he's had in his life! They really are great. The sugar and glazed are my favorite, while my son enjoys the strawberry frosted and powdered. It's worth the 20 min drive for me and even if it was farther I would still go. We decided to try this place after seeing a coupon in our Entertainment book - enjoy one free half dozen donuts when another half dozen is purchased. We picked out our dozen donuts and provided the cashier with the coupon. She then told us that the coupon was a misprint and they would not accept it. They were extremely rude about it and after driving 30 minutes to try these donuts that was a huge disappointment. First of all, if the coupon is a misprint then take it up with the Entertainment book, not your customers. Second, there is no reason to be rude about it. I know that the $6 savings is not a huge deal to lose but the service we were given ensures that I will never be back here. read more

I have been going to Ob-CO's since the mid 1970's. This place has not changed at all, thank God. Biting into one of their sugar raised donuts is like biting into a piece of heaven itself. Everything is fresh in the variety is terrific. This is my number one pick for donuts in Ocean County. Keep up the good work. I have to give this place 5 stars. I love little places that specialize in one product. The chocolate donut I had was delicious, it had a crunchy outer crust and the inside was rich. I am glad it is a little drive from my house because I would find myself there often. I bought a dozen and can't wait to try the others. These donuts blow dunkin donuts away in every way. Best donuts by far. The cinnamon jelly squares and powder knot donuts are perfection, along with anything else they have. You have got to try this place on the way to the beach in the morning or if you have a guest at your home from out of town, this is a Toms River novelty. Get there early, especially on weekends in the summer, bc they close once they sell out, and their stuff goes FAST! No matter how early we've arrived, there's always a line, but it moves very fast. Got there early on Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend and there were 10 people in front of me. The place is worth the wait. The donuts are so fresh and delicious. And I tried the crumb cake and it was so good. By the time I left, the line went way out into the parking lot. OB-CO's definitely have delicious donuts. I recommend the powdered jellies or... Wait for it... The chocolate eclair. This donut could take out a small city but it is one of the most delicious breakfast treats you will ever consume. If your not man or woman enough to eat the real deal giant sized one, they offer mini versions... Which aren't really mini- it's the size of a regular donut. With places like OB-CO's around, dunkin donuts seems like an abomination. Go early- they sell out quick! But if the Christmas lights are lit, you're in luck! Eat them right away because they do tend to lose freshness quick... But that won't be a problem! read more

My dad gets the donuts early in the morning as soon as they open. The donuts are the freshest and stay delicious for a few days.

The donuts are either very good, or very messy and sweet here. The donuts do stay fresh for a few days as others have said. I do wish there was a larger parking area, and longer hours during the weekends though. read more

Wow!!! Only way to describe this roadside donut and coffee shop. A must try if your not counting calories

I have seen a lot of rave reviews, but I must say it is just average at best to me. The prices are a little higher than most bakeries. The donuts I had were a bit overdone. I don't care for filled donuts that are hard and crunchy. The crumb cakes are decent, but definitely on the small side compared to other places I have been. Better than mass produced donuts or shops that do not cook on their own site, but not near as good as a lot of bakeries I know, but of course this area has very few bakeries, so I guess that is why people rave about these so much. If you are used to mass produced donuts or ones not made on the premises you might like these since they are made right there. If you are used to fresh bakery donuts and crumb cakes you may be disappointed. I think in the past they may have been better. I know the donuts have gotten smaller with less filling. The crumb cakes have gotten really pricey and really tiny. Plus I swear the donuts were not so overcooked to the point that they are crunchy almost like they are stale. Even though I live in town after the past couple of visits I do not think I will bother with them any more unless some how I hear that have improved. read more

Amazing!! Didn't know a real donut until I was introduced to Mrs. Ob-co's!! So soft and yummy. Everything I have tried gas been fantastic. These are not donuts, they are little masterpieces in awesome flavors. Great cheese danish too!!!! The crust just melts in your mouth. read more

I must say, not only do they have the best most delicious donuts, and crumb cake around, they go the extra mile to accommodate you! Last year I was able to pick up some OB-CO items at the Lakehurst location because they were open on the day before Thanksgiving. This year I wanted some for Christmas morning and this location was closed when I needed the items. I called Rick and he was so accommodating and agreed he could actually deliver the donuts and crumb cakes right before Christmas because he was heading in my direction anyway that day. I followed up with a call to the store and today it was delivered seamlessly. I really appreciate how he went the extra mile for me. It wasn't the hugest order, but I got my sister in on it, so we could freeze some and make it a bigger order to make his trip worthwhile. He really knows how to run a good business. The person who took my order was great, too!! It's rare you find a business so well run and have a great product, too!! Can't wait for Christmas morning to sample these goodies once again!! read more

I really wanted an apple cider donut but didn't want to go far. Went online and they had great reviews. I love all their donuts- there was just something not right with the apple cider ones- Very strange after taste. maybe they use apple cider vinegar- I wanted to being a dozen to work on Monday but I just couldn't Even the pumpkin was lame. been going to obcos since childhood and the deliciousness hasnt changed a bit. best..donuts..ever. my grandmother used to get these every sunday and bring them back to our shore house in ortley. everyone ive had try these donuts says they are the best! word of advice get there early. during the summer the lines are long and once they run out of donuts they are done for the day. we went down to ortley recently and they were closed by 1230pm..and its off season. crisp tasty and a heck of a lot better than dunkin donuts or dare i say it crispy creme. crumb cake is the bomb too. a taste that takes me back to being a carefree kid running around the beach in the 70's - 80's...great memories. read more

The donuts are great, but the real treat at Ob Co's is the crumb cake. BEST crumb cake I've ever had, beats Colonial Bakery by a long haul.
