The most atrocious experience of our lives. I'm hoping that our experience was just a bad day. We walked in as a group of 8 after spending the morning on the beach. It was not busy when we arrived, maybe 2-3 other tables. There seemed to be only one server who seemed to be hustling, but the wild part was the bartender. We all placed our drink orders and about 20 mins went by without any water or drinks. Meanwhile, the bartender was chatting to what seemed to be his friends stopping in. He was drinking a Truly can and dropped multiple glasses, so spent his time walking up and down the bar doing absolutely nothing. Eventually a margarita and warm blue moon were delivered, but we didn't order a margarita and still - no drinks for the rest of the party. Food was sub par and the whole experience was candidly miserable. I don't think I am even doing it justice as I can't relive it. read more

SEASIDE HEIGHTS: as we were strolling the Boardwalk on Seaside's Dog Royalty Day, we walked by Jersey Roll, a restaurant that beautifully displayed a doggy drink station for all the doggy visitors for the special event. We decided to check it out and we are so happy we did! Jersey Roll is a bar and grill that was formerly Aztec Bar, and they allow leashed and friendly dogs inside and outside. The inside has bar seating and standard tables and the small outdoor deck provides views of the ferris wheel, amusements, and the bustling boardwalk. They are famous for their pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwiches and offer other breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches, fat sandwiches, other delicious items, and a full bar is available to get your favorite drink. The staff is extremely friendly and we enjoyed talking to the manager, Rachel. She makes a mean cocktail. On the corner of the Boardwalk and Sherman Ave., it is easily located so you do not have to walk on the boardwalk for too long. Check their social media for current local summer hours. read more

We stopped in here at around 1 o'clock, so I could try my first pork roll sandwich. The bartender was really nice and let me know that they were no longer serving breakfast sandwiches and that they were closed on Monday. She went into the kitchen and asked if they would make me an egg and cheese sandwich with pork roll and the chef agreed to do it. I'm so happy they did! This is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. It wasn't just the pork roll, the bread and the way they layered the egg and the cheese was absolutely delicious. I'm really sad that I can't get this at home. I can't say enough about the bartender who is working on Sunday of last weekend, but she was fantastic! read more

Possibly the worst restaurant I've ever been to. We were looking forward to a nice Father's Day dinner. While our server was very nice, most of the food here was inedible. My husband ordered the ribs which came out burnt and hard as a rock. My kids both got burgers which were pretty much the same, and so thin that it couldn't even be called a burger, with a huge, dry roll instead of a bun. The server took one look when I told her and apologized, agreed with us and took those three items right off the bill. My lobster roll, while edible, was probably the worst I've ever had. The kids pasta was absolute mush. The crab dip was so thick and hard that it was impossible to actually dip the chips in it. Disappointing because the taste of that was actually decent. The mussels were the only thing we were happy with. Like what happened here? I've never been to a place where everything has been this bad. We didn't finish anything except the lobster roll. I was told by the server that they just opened the upstairs this year and it's the same kitchen for upstairs and downstairs. Seems like they've gone for quantity over quality in this case. We left with my husband and kids still hungry, but couldn't go anywhere else to eat because it was late and we still wasted $88 for everything else. We walked on the boardwalk and my husband decided to try this spot since there was indoor seating for the kids. We waited around for them to clean the table. We ordered the jersey roll platter for the kids and assumed the pancakes would be more than enough. It came out and the pancakes were two HARD mini pancakes, burnt eggs and the bacon was fine. We ordered breakfast. Tried to order the platter with pancakes. Waitress said they didn't have them today. Opted for an omelette and a sandwich with a side of "tots". Omelette was WAY overcooked. Sandwich arrived with"tots" on the sandwich, not on the side. When we finally got the side of tots, they were cold. As if this wasn't enough, my daughter watched our waitress serve another patron, but not before she took a fry off their plate and ate it. Stopped by Jersey Roll for breakfast. It is one of the few restaurants open early and serving a full menu before noon on the boardwalk. If nothing else stop in for their mini donuts! They also have a family run feel which is nice to support. I ordered a chicken wrap($7) from their "light" menu with buffalo sauce. Not sure that is particularly light, but it was filling! Others ordered more exciting conditions like sausage and mozzarella sticks. I also ordered a bag of mini donuts with cinnamon sugar($7) and coffee($3). First the pancakes or what they call pancakes for $14 are literally 2 premade mini/ silver dollar Walmart frozen pancakes that when heated in the microwave too long gets rock solid. They had the nerve to place those rock hard pancakes on a plate and call it a platter for $14. They should not have pancakes on a menu if they are not freshly made and normal size! The omelette of 3 eggs is literally 1 egg not even scrambled. Definitely overpriced for nothing! Food is horrible, very oily and everything tastes re warmed/ freezer burnt. Hi all, I took it upon myself to add this place as I stopped in this week and was treated with some of the best customer service I have had to date. Sal, the owner, greater my wife and I and starting telling us about the menu and everything they had to offer. Honestly, one thing sounded better than the next and we landed on the Dirty Pig, which is tots, Taylor ham, and cheese sauce. Spoiler alert... It's amazing. Even the iced coffee was good and priced well. Looks like they have call ahead orders, so I am sure we will be placing some hangover TAylor ham egg and cheese orders soon. We walked in today around 1:00pm, servers were chit chatting, didn't really get acknowledged until my boyfriend decided to ask them where to sit. We were directed where to sit, the first server was very nice. No food menu or mentioned happy hour specials. However, we ordered two mimosas (watered down) and we just decided to not eat and just have the two drinks there. I forgot my boyfriend's clearly medicinal vape pen at the table (but we came back 5 mins later and it's not your typical recreational vape clearly medicinal and had information on it). Went up to Jackie G. Who checked our tab out and asked her whether if she found the pen she said no with a sort of a smirk. My boyfriend decided to ask for a supervisor about it and she said she might have thrown it in the trash and he's like "please go look " and she PULLED the pen out from her pocket at the bar instead of said "trash".It's a used medicinal vape pen, why would you try to keep it for yourself (it's unhygienic let alone you don't know what kind of condition that pen is needed for ). despicable, would give no stars if I could. I wish I could comment on the food, but I will never be able to. We booked the "Jersey Roll" for our daughter's first birthday party more than 3 months in advance. Just one week before the party, when I emailed to confirm, we were told the Jersey Roll truck would not be showing up. ONE WEEK before a party with 60+ plus guests we were left high and dry. So I put in an order for delivery, 20 minutes later, I get a call from a delivery guy asking where the location is, 20 minutes after that I get a notification that my order has been cancelled. And I will get my 53 bucks back in 5-7 business days. I call Jersey Roll to ask WTAF and nobody answers. Nice customer service. Real nice. And don't bother trying to blame it all on DoorDash (believe me, I registered my complaint there as well) but you all are a bunch of cowards for not even answering the phone after one of your customers gets screwed over like that. Don't be scammed like we were!! This place is a tourist trap joke. Look, I realize it's a shore location in summer and the prices are going to be high but that's not the issue. I've got no problem paying more esp. under the circumstances but I don't think it's asking too much for decent REAL food for the prices they gouge you with. Instead, their "breakfast platter" (at $12 + tax) come with 2 tiny pancakes (the frozen type you can get in like 50 in a bag at Costco, etc.) one egg (if you ask for scrambled be prepared to be surprised - it comes like an omelette "skin" with a hard coating/edges and not truly scrambled) and your choice of "meat"...meaning 2 strips of bacon or one piece of pork roll. This "platter"probably cost them less than $1.50 to make...and served on the highest quality (read: dollar store) cheap paper lined plastic dish/basket (reusable type for more profit). The server was good but that's about it - you'd be much better off getting a breakfast sandwich from 7-11, Wawa or McDonalds/BK than this overpriced, terrible "food". In fact, you can get an extremely better breakfast with a free continental breakfast at a budget motel than this place. Be forewarned. read more
