Every time I was there, service staff were very friendly and helpful! I truly enjoyed my experience there. Breakfast is always good!

We went here for dinner on Valentine's Day and it was soo good that we came back for breakfast today. Dinner my husband had the steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. He also got the shrimp Alfredo...all of it was delicious. I had the Texas fajitas, sooo goood. We also head the breaded jalapeno poppers for an appetizer, I'll be dreaming about them the only slight complaint is I think the dinner portions are a little small. I'm a pretty small woman and I wasn't completely full after I ate my fajitas. My husband at two whole meals and was full. So eh portions could be bigger for dinner I think, otherwise everything was on point. Came back for breakfast and it was fire!! I had the protein bowl and swapped out black beans for some eggs. So good and the portions for breakfast seemed much better, I was stuffed and had some to take home. Hubs loved everything he had. We'll def be back. read more

Do not get the candied bacon unless you like floppy, fatty bacon drenched in syrup. The bacon in the breakfast bowl wasn't crispy either. There were three bone chips in my sausage patty. Took forever to get our food and it was sub par. Just do yourself a favor and don't go. read more

I am always skeptical of a large varied menu in a big space and new owners especially in this town but harvest kitchen is doing a really good job of making some really good food. It's not fine dining, the space is probably too big for them but the staff was very nice and simple, everything came out quickly and orderly. You could bit into the perfectly crisp onion rings and not pull the onion out, the shrimp tacos were chopped up for ease, fish tacos were crispy and the Tokyo burger was solid. It won't be some amazing dining experience but you will leave full and satisfied and that's all I can ask for. read more

The pork chop was supposed to be "signature " item. I specifically requested it not be overcooked. When ask how I wanted it cooked, I said medium rare expecting maybe medium at best. It came out well done and dry. The flavor was good as was the sauce, but the chop itself was way overcooked. The service was sub par. The waitress did not bother to come to the table after food was served to check on us. She never showed up to offer to refill drinks. This was a Thursday night and there were only a few tables. On the Sunday morning of Memorial Day weekend, 4 of us met here for breakfast. We arrived at 10 and were seated and greeted by a server right away. He was there when we needed him and super friendly. Our visit was right after their grand opening, I was super excited to try the food. Since I was visiting I had to go Springfield staple creation and get a breakfast shoe. It's a bread, meat, and potatoes covered in cheese sauce dish. For the breakfast version you also get to add eggs! Here the bread is buttermilk biscuits, the meat I choose sausage, the potatoes were large diced, and smothered in cheese sauce. I got my eggs scrambled. It was delicious!! The cheese sauce is the part you must nail to make a good shoe, and the sauce here is good. Seasoned nicely. My only ding on the food were a few of the larger potato chunks weren't fully cooked, but that was the only thing I noticed. When it's time to pay, they have one station at the hostess stand. When we left around 11 a wait had formed along with a line surrounding the hostess's station. I can see this becoming a pain point for customers as business picks up and you have a line of people trying to pay and exit. And a line of people trying to check in and be seated. All of my friends enjoyed their food too. I will definitely return when I'm back in SPI. And I wish the young entrepreneur owner the best of luck! read more

When you walk in you're amazed by how the place looks. It's very stylish has been updated from the ghosts of restaurants past. Our server was friendly didnt try to rush us when looking through the menu. The price of the average breakfast item was higher than a lot of places in the area. You can tell this restaurant has only been open for a short time. The hosts have no system for determining wait times for any size of party. They were not taking reservations today (understandable, it's a holiday), and were writing party orders on paper... where hungry, angry guests could clearly see the disorganization! We waited an hour and 15 minutes for a party of 3, after originally being told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. When you sit down, you'll likely be surrounded by empty, clean tables like we were, because there is no staff to serve them. Menus are paper-style, but covered in previous stains and stickiness. Drink menus are few and far between, and servers are swiping them from occupied tables. Our server, Eli, did his absolute best to provide excellent service. We did witness a LOT of public bickering between the hosts (who were cussing and vocal about how they had no idea what was going on), and other servers about the seating of parties. No management in sight. No bartender in case you thought you could snag a spot at the bar. This place is beautiful but completely dysfunction. Just order to go. Food was good, but not worth the overall seated dining experience. Drinks didn't come out until the food did. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time in the mid-afternoon and we were very impressed. Nice atmosphere and great service. Great presentation and tasted very good! fresh peach toast was the summer special for brunch but/and we ordered it actually as an appetizer along with the bruschetta. My entree was the fish tacos --not sure the type of fish but it was tender and flaky despite being fried. The rice was also cooked just right. My husband had the steak salad which appeared very fresh. It could have used a bit more of the flavored sauce of the steak but we always lean toward the heavier-handed version of seasoning. We had iced tea (although the specialty drink selections looked good) and both commented that it tasted like "real" brewed tea. We will be back again soon for an evening meal experience! read more

Went there this morning with high hopes...Big mistake. Sure, the building looks nice, and the ambiance tries hard, but that's where the positives end. I'd like to start off this review with the positives, so... the server was pretty friendly? Now to the rest. The food was fairly mediocre - my bacon was good. The sort of generally overpriced brunch food you'd expect. Most of it was fine. Nothing to write home about. Of the 4 of us at the table, mine was about 7 minutes behind the rest - food should arrive at the same time. But it was okay. One of my friends got the biscuits and gravy and insisted that the rest of us try it. Their recipe uses what can best be described as Italian sausage. It was reminiscent of eating a pizza in gravy form. But it was also very oily/greasy. I took one bite and immediately regretted it. My friend asked the server to remove it from the bill as it was inedible, but the server did not. When we went up to pay, the manager refused to remove it from the bill because "no one else has complained today." Okay, so 1) most people don't complain or comment about food. They just eat it or not and then tell their friends. A customer complaint about food quality should be taken seriously by management and back of house staff as an opportunity for improvement. 2) If a customer asks for a comped $6 item on a $100 bill... you do it. It's customer service. We clearly did not and could not eat the dish. We didn't ask for anything else to be removed. We didn't argue, we didn't take it out on the server. The manager here had an opportunity to say "I'm sorry you were unhappy with the dish, let me remove that from your bill." Instead, she chose a different approach. In doing so, this manager took our experience from "eh it was okay" to "we will never go back and also I'll be damned sure I'll cost this business at least $6 in negative reviews." I'm good with a computer and I have ample free time - and today I'm going to use those to the great dismay of this restaurant. A plague on Harvest Kitchen. Worst biscuits and gravy ive ever tried to eat! Day old dried out biscuits were cut in half and grilled in something that tasted like grease from 20 years of buildup from dirty a grill, till so tough bearly able to cut let alone chew! First time going to Harvest Kitchen and Bar. Loved it! The mimosa and the croffles were fantastic. The fresh orange juice took the mimosa to the next level. Ratio of chicken to croffle was perfect. My only comments were that the gravy was more room temp than hot and I would have preferred the chicken to be freshly fried chicken strips. We couldn't get a drink at the bar at 12:30 when they close at 2 o'clock nobody knew with the soup was now let's talk about the drink the bloody Mary, the tomato juice with water and ice no flavor whatsoever the potato soup that I ordered flour just a bowl of flour with some cheese sprinkled on it. Food (breakfast) was standard in comparison with many local establishments. Portions okay-only one slice of toast, great options for your potatoes. Service was fair. The Ambiance was very clean and welcoming. My biggest issue; Price listed on the menu is "singular" but when your check arrived it had a 'cash price' or a 'non cash price'. This is not stated on the menu nor brought up to the customer, nor posted anywhere in the restaurant. And in addition, because we always pay with a credit card - and THEIR FEE was crazy high - OVER $3.00 - they subsequently took my 20% tip form the 'non-cash' amount rather than the cash amount. This needs to be addressed with their 'new customers.' I do not expect to return. read more

The have a done a wonderful job remodeling but I wish they would have focused on quality ingredients instead. I had chicken and croiwaffle. A cross between a croissant and waffle.
