    Hazel at the dog park
    William G.

We found this dog park on Yelp our go to app. Easy to find and great parking. We let Hazel out and she was excited to go see what the action was. There were about 15 dogs of various size in the big dog side. Hazel is 17 pounds but loves to play with the big dogs. The entrance has 2 nice vine covered pergolas and a nice double gate entrance. All the dogs come over to see what new dog is coming in, it's a real sniff festival. With all of that out of the way Hazel made her rounds around the perimeter and we headed towards the water station to empty and refill the provided stainless steel water bowls. All the dogs appreciate fresh water. Ten tennis balls were laying about and some dogs were fetching and some just sniffing, there are bags provided to clean up after your dog and there was no dodo that had not been cleaned up. All the dogs were friendly and the owners were friendly. That made for a nice time, there is a four inch layer of bark for the dogs to goof around on. There are no human bathrooms at this dog park. We had a great experience and highly recommend this dog park

I just moved to this area couple of weeks ago and I am very pleasantly surprised at the number of dog parks available within a mile from my new home. Oberrieder is among the best I have found. It's pretty large with shade and seating for the humans, and is covered with a thick layer of wood chips so my dog (who loves to play fetch) doesn't get completely filthy every time we go!! There's also a nice little fountain for thirsty doggies and poop bags are provided. Street parking usually is not a problem. I've already met some great people and doggos here.

"A Horse With No Name" - America "On the first part of the journey I was looking at all the life There were plants and birds and rocks and things There was sand and hills and rings The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz And the sky with no clouds The heat was hot and the ground was dry But the air was full of sound........." Ive been through the wetland on a park with no name, haha..... I could not figure out the name of this Playa Vista park to save my life. It surrounds Oberrieder Dog Park. It has sports facilities, picnic areas, and a walking path. But wait.....it's Oberrieder Park, minus the Dog. Meaning that the dog park is more than just a dog park, but it includes a dog park. Do I make myself clear as mud? I had to go to the Playa Vista printed material, the walking map, to solve the mystery. Oberrieder Park includes a dog park, a basketball court, a paddle tennis court, picnic tables with grills, and a beautiful walking path along a wetland with views of the bluffs under LMU. And yes there were plants & birds & rocks & things and the air was full of sound.....sweet gentle sounds of nature...... See the photos, a picture is worth a thousand confusing words & lyrics.

UPDATE: We went to the vet this morning. Kona has a one-inch bite wound on her neck, which the vet cleaned and treated and gave her antibiotics for 10 days. I didn't get any info from anyone at the dogpark, so if you were there that day and can get me in contact with the owner of the blue pitbull that attacked Kona, please let me know so I can send him my vet bill. Thanks in advance. It was our first time tonight at this dog park. Kona, my 6-month-old border collie/shepherd mix, was very excited to play with the other dogs. Everyone (both humans and canine) were very friendly. Ten minutes into playing with other dogs, a large pitbull came in (with his owner - an older man) and approached the group that Kona was playing with. He attacked her viciously and unprovokedly. I am traumatized at hearing my puppy scream for her life as this pitbull clamps down on her neck and shakes her like a rag. His owner quickly jumps on top of him as he tried to pry open his dog's mouth off my puppy. Everyone there jumped in to try and help the situation. What felt like an eternity later, the pitbull let go, and I rushed Kona to a corner to check her over. At first I didn't see anything; Kona was just shaken up. After everyone has calmed down and the guy and his pitbull left the park, I finally see the blood seeping from her neck from a large, deep bite. I have cleaned her up and she seems to be in good spirits. We're going to the vet first thing tomorrow for stitches. I liked the dogpark -- it was clean and had lots of space to run around. Unfortunately, this is just one really bad incident. It certainly wasn't a good way to welcome a new puppy to the park.

Ok dog park behind the Runway at Playa Vista. There are many more dogs in the big dog park, not so many in the under 20 lb. park. At least there are some trees for shade and a number of benches. Ok for a short jaunt.

My dog Yoshi loves this place. They recently refilled it with new bark and all the dogs were going bananas digging and running around in it like it was snow. It's within walking distance of all the shops/restaurants, there's a separate area for smaller dogs, the people and dogs are friendly, and there's plenty of places to park (make sure you're on the side next to the actual dog park or else it's a $75 ticket). Now if we can only get a dog beach around these parts...

Lots of CLOSE parking at the perfect price... FREEE! lots of tree trunks for Buddy to mark his territory, clean play areas divided for your big or petite one with courtesy waste bags for you to pick up his/her boo boo as the nice loving person you are. Small trail & a mini patio area for you to take em on a leashed stroll. Can't complain, in a great area with pleasant dog owners with the breeze blowing thru your hair :) leave your kitty at home!

Dog park in the the new Playa Vista neighborhood. I like it because it's very clean. They have wood chips which make it easier to pick up their p**p. Parking is easy and quiet neighborhood!

What a great dog park! It's not huge but it's also not tiny. I have a dog that's about 20 lbs. so the size of this park was perfect for him! There's a side for small dogs (under 25 lbs.) and a side for large dogs and both are filled with wood chips, not grass. All of the owners here are very responsible. They watch over their dogs, play with them, give them water from the fountain when needed. It's really nice. I didn't feel nervous or worried with my dog running around with the other animals. My dog doesn't really play and is more attracted to people than other animals, but he was running around with the other dogs for a bit which was awesome! There's three benches and plenty of trees to keep you shaded. There's no parking lot but there's plenty of space on the street. I pulled up and found a spot right away and there were plenty of other open spots as well. If you've been looking for a park to take your furry friend, definitely try this one out!

Closed at 3 pm on a Friday- locked with security guards ensuring no one is there. Would not recommend this park or area.

Good separation for big and small dogs but, small dog owners don't really respect it.

They have like a switchback OK so which means you're going higher and higher, but without stairs, right... and six years ago I had a knee surgery where I needed to still exercise, but I just couldn't lift my knee like that just walking was all I could do so I've been in a few predicaments where you know I appreciate having this switchback, I just don't appreciate the dog poop. If you are going to violate the rules and bring your dog which I love animals I love dogs you gotta clean up after your animal. It's not OK to just to leave dog poop on the trail. And also, why aren't my Park Rangers enforcing this rule anyhow, if you wanna take a nice walk, that's gonna give you a little workout without doing too much strain than this is the park for you! At the end of the day, this is a very pretty park where you can actually barbecue you do need to reserve the space. I don't know how much it cost, but I know you need to reserve the space and then you can have a party there there's a skate park attached. I mean it's a nice park just please people be respectful and I guess it's not the Park's fault per se... But if there are Park Rangers, why aren't they enforcing this rule? Also, they lease out some space to this company that does these really cool teambuilding, exercises and wall climbs and stuff. It's pretty cool. I wanted to do it but it was like $100 a person and I was like ouch! All in all, there is a beautiful view when you do reach the top and I don't mean the top on the bottom I mean all the way up to the top has the picture show you can see all the way to the beach on a clear day. It's gorgeous.
