Go and spam you for the one dollar a month trial period or three free days visit whatever it might…read morebe then you go there you gotta give them all your information right from the first day you do the tour OK then you start doing your free passes plus you're a dollar a month then before the month is even up they take out the annual fee out of your bank account that is required to pretty much walk in the door. That's a little bit of entrapment. I think planet fitness gives you three months before they give you the annual fee so you get to pay three months worth of membership whatever it might be $30 $40 after three months 90 days you can decide if you want to pay the annual fee and continue to go there not at Retro Fitness. Oh I say it again not at Retro Fitness Deer Park they take it out before 30 days is even up out of your account and they refuse to give you your money back when you cancel the membership because of their dirty facility. The place is disgusting. The showers are disgusting. They piss on the toilets. Nobody cleans it. I'm a pretty lenient person, but when it comes down to taking my money before the 30 days is up for the first month that's kind of Rob somebody then the manager refuses to refund my money because of their subpar gym and non-cleanliness. I would definitely skip this place regardless of the one dollar a month. Skip it skip it skip it. Plus every time I would buy a premade protein shake the price was different. This place likes to bleed people so I would definitely not go there. They pull money from any which way they can for any customer they can, Big NO!

I would like to start by showing my appreciation and my gratitude for the most patient team member…read moreof planet fitness I have come across in a long time. His name is ryan and being a new member to that location I had run into some trouble with multiple accounts. He was gracious enough to rectify the problem for me and kindly wrote down the next steps I would need to take. he did not have to be so kind or go out of his way the way he did while simultaneously keeping a smile on his face, which was the best part. this is a young man who showed his leadership skills, his willingness to serve others and being a young man in the business of customer service he definitely shined like the leader. I see him to be in the future.

Planet Fitness belongs to the Tivity Health fitness network that gives me access to many health…read moreclubs for a combined fee of $29/mo. What sets Planet Fitness apart from most other clubs in the network is their Functional Training Room. It is a private space that is usually not crowded. I practice my physical therapy exercises in there, and my physical therapist is impressed with the results. Another stand out is a private changing room across from each shower station. I do not have to change in front of everyone in the locker room like I do at most other clubs in the network, like LA Fitness and Blink. Planet Fitness, unlike most other health clubs, is open 24 hours/day Monday through Friday; and the club has an innovative app, which has work out videos that track my activity and motivate me to work out consistently. I have maintained a 30-pound weight loss, and my blood test results now fall within normal ranges. Members usually sanitize equipment before and after each use, and they re-rack weights. The club is relatively clean, and staff is usually helpful.

So, they have an ad on Facebook saying "Join our FREE six week challenge!". What they don't tell…read moreyou is that it's basically a way to get you to the location, make you feel like an idiot and push sales on you. And surprise, surprise. It's not free either. The six week challenge sounds great in black and white. However, you have to show up 3 days a week so they can care less about your work/personal life. Their hours are a joke weeknights. The latest class is 7:30. But the shade of gray is that you have to put a $499 deposit down. And if you are able to lose 25 lbs in the six week challenge, you get your money back. That's 4 lbs a week, not realistic so you won't ever see that money again. What annoyed me the most was how pushy this guy Jay was. He needed an answer immediately if I was to sign up yet couldnt take no for an answer. First impressions are real important to me. There was no geniune, caring personalities; they spew off their sales pitch to you and bank $499 to every naive person. This business is not worth a $499 deposit nor $145 a month. These are money hungry people that see dollar signs in their sleep. My advice? Save your money. Not worth it.

FREE 6 WEEK CHALLENGE: LEGIT OR SCAM? Read on to find out!…read more For all intents and purposes, this is based on my own experience as a person who was lured in to try the 6 week program for "Free". ILKB runs Facebook ads constantly saying they want ladies to come in to challenge themselves with a free six week challenge. What they don't tell you is that it really isn't free...and if you don't complete a "Successful" challenge, well, then they get to keep the required $499 deposit (taken before you can even consider starting the program). What is considered "Successful"? In order to get your $499 back, you MUST: Lose 25 pounds in 6 weeks OR lose 6% body fat. Attend 3 classes a week for 6 weeks. Check in online for each class (18 classes). Take pictures of your food each week and post online. Weigh in each week. I MUST REPEAT THIS: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE 25 POUNDS OR 6% BODY FAT TO LOSE, DO NOT ACCEPT! ALSO DO NOT ACCEPT IF YOU: Prone to injury (if you get injured, they keep 50%) Inflexible schedule (they keep 50%) Move away 20 miles+ (they keep 50%) I asked, repeatedly, if I would get my money back. They smiled, assured me, "Yes of course, THE ONLY REASON why we charge is because the financial incentive is a good motivator" and they would return it based on "Successful" completion of the challenge. Now, you know where this is going. Before even taking my body fat %, the owner looked at me and gladly signed me up. I couldn't realize why he was so happy to do so, but when the 6 weeks was up, I realized why. I'm 5'9", and I started the program around 127lbs. My body fat (using their highly questionable BIA device) was 24%. Clearly, the owner knew there was NO POSSIBLE WAY I was ever going to complete this challenge "successfully". I already ate a clean diet, weight lifted 4 times a week. I was easy money for him and he knew it. The moment they ran my card, they knew they turned a profit. Around Week 5, I got injured. My right hand was sprained and the doctor told me I couldn't box for about 3 weeks. I called to get out of the program, as the contract states that if you have an injury, you can get 50% back. But the owner hemmed and hawed, said that, "We could work around it. You're so close to being done." At first, I thought "Oh, maybe he wants me to get my deposit back, as I've only got 1 week left." I thought he was being kind when he adjusted the workout for me. I WAS WRONG. Because I completed the 6 weeks, I was ineligible to get the 50% back. So, do I think ILKB is a scam or legit? The workout is okay. It's your average HIIT workout that you can get at any pop up fitness store and if I had joined ILKB as a regular member and paid per class, I would say legit for sure. I won't call them scammers but I will say BUYER BEWARE! I think the only reason why the gym has any business at all is because of this scheme. They set up the challenge in waves and they have around 4-5 groups of challengers (they stagger the start weeks and cycle through the same 4-5 team names) with about 15 people per challenge group. Around 4 people completed the 6 weeks in my group. LET. THAT. SINK. IN. I don't need to spell out the math to see where most of their income is coming from. As long as they keep running ads, they'll have income. But businesses that practice misleading their customers only have so long before people catch on. Have a great day! :)
