Christine was recommended by close friends of ours. She has very strong hands, and can go as deep or soft as you need (I've never had to ask for deeper massage - only for her to lighten up a little on the more sensitive areas). Her philosophy is to also use less oil/cream than others so she can feel the areas that need more work, and do a better job with manipulation. She does a great and very thorough job! Ok wow. Christine is way different than any other massage therapist I've been to! First of all, she has a delightful personality and is super easy going and fun to chat with. Right off the bat, I could tell that she was different than most massage therapists because she has an incredible background with triathletes, Olympic athletes, weightlifters, and CrossFit athletes. I always love getting worked on by people who have experience in the extremes of their field, and Christine is exactly one of these gems! Her location is right off the freeway, and was really easy to get to. I'm located in Newport Beach and it was really easy to find. Her suite is spacious and relaxing, with also a athletic vibe. She offers more than just a spa experience; she has far infrared heat lamps and E-Stim too. Christine's pressure was spot on. In the past, I feel like I get massages and it's either too light or they push too hard in the wrong spots. Not Christine. She has a great combination of pressure speed and depth so that it was right at the sweet spot between comfort and therapeutic healing. I've had some lingering overuse injuries that I've put off for quite some time. It was pretty much to the point where I would just work through the pain and "lived" with it. Christine came highly recommended in our community, so I figure I give her a try to see what she could do. Ok, wow! She's super awesome to work with, extremely knowledgeable, and thorough. Christine is absolutely gifted! She has strong hands, is very thorough, and very educated on the anatomy and physiology of the human body. I have been in the dental field for a few decades which is very taxing on the body. In order to prevent early retirement, I get regular chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage therapy. It's safe to say that I have had a few hundred massages in my lifetime. Christine is definitely one of the best I've ever worked with. I don't like the shee shee type of massages. I have always preferred a deeper, more intense sports massage and she has always delivered! It's amazing how she tackles so many areas in one hour. And I never leave feeling like there was a spot she missed or "I wish she worked on that area a little longer." My entire body feels relaxed and soothed when she is done with me. I'll often come in asking for one area. Not only does she alleviate the pain in the sore spot, but she manages to squeeze in a full body treatment. She says her specialty is shoulders, but I would definitely say she has a gift for working on the neck. Uhhhhh, and forearms... and legs/thighs.... and shoulder blades... ok, it's hard to pick a favorite area. She's superb at it all! She even knows a ton of stretches and exercises and spends time teaching you how to do it. She's very flexible with scheduling and I like that a lot. She also has a positive and inspiring attitude. (It's like she's constantly high on endorphins). Such a happy and uplifting personality! She plays some great music too. Not that typical spa crap (unless you request it). I booked my reservation with her after finding the Oc Athletic Massage for my sport massage. I have problem with my back and neck and I have taken massages in other places. She was the only one was able to find the source of my hip problem and exact reason. She did a great massage and I really felt a relief after one session, I think I need more session for my problem and definitely will get another session with her. Incredible. I can't recommend this strongly enough. Dropped in as a recent neck injury was flaring up. I missed seeing my "regular" therapist in San Diego and was in the OC area on a trip. WOW!
