This camera store is located in an easy to access shopping center, and it's close by. The prices are REAL steep! I was just picking up supplies and WOW, I don't want to buy the whole store! They're clearly only interested in doing business with professionals who have been taking photos since they were on their journey through the birth canal. Last week I took my sister who was visiting me from out of town to this store because she wanted it to buy a couple of cameras. I took her there because I've met the owner before but he behave like a complete asshole. Including his "crew" by mocking on us because we asked a couple of questions about a "FILM" Leica camera. He treat us like he was doing us a favor! We asked him if he can turn on the camera to see how it works. And he said: If a turn the camera on it will be considered used. What a Morron...! That's the most STUPID thing I ever heard..! Then we asked if they carry Go Pro Hero cameras? And he replies with his Stuck up tone of voice "We do not carry that kind of cameras here" At that point, we were really fed up with his stupid and anti-professional attitude. So we just took off to Samy's cameras where they treat us very professionally and they were extremely helpful. I rarely every write negative reviews but man oh man. Absolutely terrible customer service. Called ahead and a younger employee picked up. While speaking to him all I could hear was his chewing in between his lack luster comments. I went ahead and brought the camera in regardless to get an opinion hoping that I wouldn't be helped by the same person. I walked up to an older gentlemen this time who was clearly in a bad mood. After speaking to him about my issue about the camera he proceeds to tell me that my camera would not be worth saving and I should just use it till it died. When I called the number I spoke with a man over the phone who was incredibly disrespectful. When I started to list off everything I would be bringing in he questioned me like I was stupid. Then hung up on me because I wanted to sell what I just purchased. First off to this guy if we were face to face I probably would have punched you for the disrespect. Having been a professional photographer for the last 10 years, I've been to hundreds of camera stores all over the world. OC Camera is one of those stores camera enthusiasts dream about but rarely ever find. I love this camera store for the following reasons 1. Great selection of used equipment in good condition 2. If they don't have it, the guys at the store will help you figure out where to get it. 3. The staff there are knowledgeable and openly tell you if something ie lens, accessory or camera body, works well or doesn't. No hard selling and no selling you stuff you have no ned for. 4. Trade in prices and prices on equipment are fair if not excellent. 5. Have great equipment for the serious photographer. Zeiss or Leica lens in stock. Trust me, on today's age, it is not easy to find a smaller camera store that actually has the good stuff in stock. I like this place enough that i'll defer my purchases just so that I can get my gear from OC camera to support an excellent business. read more

I have purchased all of my Leica and Nikon gear from OC Camera and I have had a blast learning about my equipment with them. They are fast, friendly, courteous and very good at teaching you how to use your equipment. I had a couple of great experiences with OC Camera recently. I went in to find out why a telephoto zoom lens I've had forever didn't work anymore. They did troubleshooting on the lens for free and determined the AF motor wasn't working any longer. No sales pressure but they had a replacement lens for a very reasonable price which I purchased. A few days later I found a similar lens I already owned and they graciously allowed me to return the one I bought. No hassle at all. They also cheerily answered all my questions about new Sony cameras and were a wealth of information. My new "first stop" for anything related to cameras. These guys are great! I first came in looking for a Nikon telephoto lens. These guys were so patient with me and really helped me figure out exactly what I was looking for. They even let me try some used lenses on my camera to see what the actual results would be. They gave me a bunch of information and then let me make my own decision on what to buy. On my second trip in I wanted to upgrade my camera. They didn't have the exact Sony camera I wanted (even though they have a bunch of stuff in stock) and were happy to order it for me. It actually wound up being cheaper than I expected as they looked up and passed on a rebate from Sony. Couldn't be more happy with my purchase and the support from Roosbeh and Ronnie. Stopped in the shop for the first time today and walked out with the Tokina 16-35 2.8 lens for my Canon cameras. I had asked about the Canon 16-35 2.8 II, but the staff talked about how the Tokina had superior image quality at less than half the price of the Canon. The staff was both knowledgable and fun to interact with. The prices were a little higher than online ($50 on a $699 lens), but I think it was worth it for their knowledge and expertise. I went to them years ago and remembered how helpful they were to me- so over Christmas break when I was having a meltdown over my camera issues while living in UTAH!!!- I decided I would go see them when I went to Ca for break. I went in with a camera that I had recently purchased from Ebay since it started acting funky. The camera (Olympus Pen e-P1, which is awesome by the way) wasn't focusing right and then it stopped focusing altogether and wouldn't even take a picture. I'm not a camera guru so I started researching camera repair shops. I read the previous comments from people and although I'm about 30 min away, I decided to make the drive and take mine in. I'm glad I did! They were very helpful and made a small tweak in the lens and it was fixed! It took about 10 minutes and they showed me how to fix it in case the problem recurs. I bought the camera just for a big trip I'm taking and am so thankful they were able to help me out. And it was freeee! They've got my recommendation!! read more

There's not much I love more than looking through old photographs and reminiscing, so imagine my dismay when my Nikon D5100 suddenly stopped focusing and would not take pictures, even on the manual setting, just before my daughter's high school graduation! It's an expensive camera that I cannot afford to replace. I tried everything, from changing out the lenses to resetting to default settings to no avail. I called OC Camera after searching online and reading Yelp reviews trying to find the best place locally that may be able to help me out without going all the way to the Nikon repair in L.A. I explained the problem over the phone and was told that OC Camera is not a repair shop, but that they would look at it for me if I stopped by. I thought that was really nice that they would triage the issue for me. Then I might have a better idea as to how much it may cost to repair or whether it was even repairable. I took the camera in and was met by three welcoming gentleman. It turns out the person I spoke to on the phone was Ronnie. He looked at my camera and in under 2 minutes knew exactly what was wrong. He showed me the problem and with a screwdriver quickly had it back in perfect working order in just another minute. My mirror was stuck and he knew exactly how to fix it. I was only there for 5 minutes altogether and he didn't charge me anything!!! Thank you so much Ronnie! While I was there I noticed that the shop has a wide selection of cameras and accessories and even telescopes at great prices! More importantly to me, they are honest and cared to be helpful without earning a dime. Not many businesses are run that way anymore. They have earned my respect and future business.
