Vintage Nikonos that a high school buddy recently gifted to me.

Still a very nice store, actually, I'd say it keeps getting better, since the store is constantly renovating and customer experience is cared about. Visited today and saw the new Leica section. Also received a Nikonos V, and wanted to have a better understanding of the camera. Definitely came to the right place, as Roozbeh and Ken took a look, provided their insights and expertise of the historical operation of the camera. So lucky to have these enthusiasts in our community and what a great store.

I've had my PlayStation 5 since the console first launched, and up until recently it had been…read morerunning great. Over the past year, however, I started experiencing an issue where the system would randomly shut off while I was playing. The first time it happened, I assumed it was just dust buildup. I watched a few videos, removed the side panels, cleaned the fans, used compressed air, and thankfully that solved the problem for quite a while. Recently the issue returned, and this time cleaning it myself didn't help. After doing more research, I learned about a common PS5 issue involving the liquid metal inside the system Because my console had been stored vertically since day one using Sony's official vertical stand, years of use had apparently caused the liquid metal to shift enough to create overheating problems. I started calling around for repair options and was being quoted turnaround times of 7-10 days. Then I remembered seeing videos from InstaFix on TikTok where they specifically discussed this exact PS5 issue and showed how they repair it. I called their Lake Forest location and spoke with YZ. Right away he was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer my questions. Since the Fourth of July holiday was coming up, I asked about turnaround time and was honestly shocked when he told me most PS5 repairs like mine could be completed in about an hour to an hour and a half. I drove over from Orange County, dropped off my console, and YZ walked me through what they would be looking for and what the repair process involved. True to his word, about an hour later I received a text that my PlayStation was finished and ready for pickup. When I arrived, YZ explained exactly what they found, what they repaired, and what I could do moving forward to help maximize the life of the console. What I appreciated most was that he wasn't trying to upsell me on additional services. In fact, he told me my PS5 was actually in pretty good shape overall and that the repair they performed should resolve the issue. The repair also came with a one-year warranty, which gave me additional peace of mind. The total cost was $150, and personally I felt that was completely fair. Some people may look at that number and hesitate, but when you consider that a new PS5 costs well over $500, the expertise required to perform the repair correctly, and the fact that I got my console back fully repaired in about an hour, the value was obvious to me. In a world where it's becoming harder and harder to find businesses that combine expertise, honesty, fair pricing, and excellent customer service, InstaFix absolutely delivered. YZ treated me with respect, communicated clearly throughout the process, and got me back to gaming the same day. If you're dealing with PS5 overheating issues, random shutdowns, liquid metal concerns, or any other console repair, I would not hesitate to recommend InstaFix. This was one of the easiest and most professional repair experiences I've had in a long time.

I was under the assumption that the charging port was broken, and was fully expecting to pay $50 or so for a replacement. However, the technician who assisted me quickly identified the culprit as debris stuck inside, skillfully cleared it out in less than 2 minutes, and handed me back my phone. When I prepared to pay for the repair, she gave me the most unexpected and shockingly refreshing news that there was NO CHARGE! I appreciated the honesty and asked him to take a look anyway since it still serves a purpose for my 5-year-old. After testing it, he determined it was the charger and sold me one for $40. While I was there, I also asked if he could reattach the "V" key on the keyboard. He took a quick look and told me it was broken, but offered to replace it for something like a $20 charge, which I declined. Later, the spacebar snapped off, so I finally looked into fixing the keyboard myself. After a 5-minute YouTube search, I was able to reattach the spacebar and snap the "V" key right back into place. It wasn't broken at all. But here's my issue: my guard wasn't up because I assumed I could trust the advice I was getting. Looking back, the charger he sold me consistently goes for around $20 online in very good condition, and the one I got was pretty beat up. As for the keyboard, either he was trying to upsell me on a repair I didn't need, or he didn't know how to fix something that took me less than 5 minutes to figure out myself. In hindsight, I don't feel like the advice or pricing was very trustworthy. No real harm done, but I'm writing this review as a heads up to others. Double check prices and maybe get a second opinion on any repairs that are recommended. Hope this helps someone. +++UPDATE, Hi Ray, Fair enough. I don't know enough about computer repair to say whether your assessment was correct or not. Based on the videos I found while reattaching the key, all the pieces appeared to be intact. I was able to snap it back into place in a few minutes, and as of now it feels and functions just like the other keys. Time will tell!? If it turns out the key was damaged in the way you described, then I'll gladly stand corrected. As for the charger, I think your point about retail pricing versus online pricing is fair. In hindsight, I probably should have done a little research before purchasing it. That said, after seeing what these chargers typically sell for and considering the condition of the one I received, $40 still felt high to me.
