Beware!! They will make you drive to the dealer based on a car posted online that they don't even have and then once you are there tell you its arriving in a couple days and ask for a deposit to view a car first AND KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT. After 3 weeks of leaving a deposit to be the first to view, we decided to call for a refund on the deposit. Originally, Nick assured us we would be refunded for the deposit if we were no longer interested or it would go towards the payment of the car if we decided to purchase. I have called multiple times and they either hang up or tell me my refund has been processed, then that the program does not allow them to refund (to call my bank to allow them to refund) and finally that the deposit was declined when clearly the refund was posted on my bank account and never reversed. read more

"Locked in" my Prius online and secured financing in a day with my credit union only to call the dealership and have them tell me "oh that car sold and the truecar inventory is about 48 hours behind, you need to look at our website." Sure enough I did, and the car I wanted is still listed on their website as well. Seems like a pretty clear case of bait and switch. Another line I was given said "we are a wholesaler so we sell so many cars that the online inventory can't catch up." Yet, I didn't even have a chance to mention the color of the car before I was told it was sold out. Pretty lame attempt at a bait and switch. read more

This dealership lies. I have been calling on a specific Toyota Prius that they have been advertising for a week now. Every day they tell me that they bought the car at an auction. "The Prius is on the truck and will be delivered today" But it does not get delivered. We even set up an appointment time to come and see the car. We called them on our way out the door and guess what, no car "it's still on the truck". Caught him in a lie, one day it was on the truck coming from "South Bay Area" and two days later it was coming from "San Diego area". What the heck? I would not recommend doing business with them they are not to be trusted. They do not answer the phone or return calls or emails either. So sad. :( read more

(Lengthy, but worth every single word to read) To piggyback off the majority of 1 star reviews, I purchased a vehicle a year and a half ago (2017 Toyota Corolla XSE) that supposedly had a somewhat clean Carfax. I must say, I will take responsibility of not inspecting the car as much as I should have prior to purchasing. I was infatuated with the deal (3K under market value) that I rushed into the buying process. I was told that there was minimal damage on the back bumper which was visible. However, following purchasing the vehicle, I found that there was damage all over the vehicle whether it was cosmetically on the exterior or the interior. I took it to Caliber Collision to get an estimate on the damages. They estimated 11K in damages. Basically every single part of the exterior had some type of damage. They believe (which has been stated in previous reviews as well) that the car was in an accident and was taken to a body shop and did a crappy job on salvaging the vehicle. Caliber also stated that it is a risk to drive such a salvaged vehicle that won't hold up even in a fender bender type accident. Yesterday, I tried trading in the vehicle for a new one because i was fed up on the condition of the car (especially because the front bumper currently hanging off of the vehicle) and the dealer showed me via Carfax during the appraisal that it was indeed in an accident and is worth half of the going rate due to its damage history. Therefore, at this point, I would lose 5K just to buy a new vehicle due to how much damage is on the vehicle. Not sure if OC provided a false Carfax but I wouldn't be surprised. Once again, that is my mistake for not being thorough. I am stuck with this car and it is a very unfortunate situation that I think about every other day since I made the mistake of purchasing it. I would not deal with these kind of people who are endangering lives by selling salvaged cars. I don't know how they're still in business. I'd recommend to go to a certified used dealership if you want a used vehicle. Please, learn from my mistake. read more

Bought a Toyota Corolla from them a couple years back and all I can say is wow they really do know how to not make it clear that ALL there cars have frame damage. I asked him if the car had been involved in any accidents or if it was a clean title and he assured me it was that there price were just that good because they paid all there cars cash. They just tell you to sign here sign there and never mention it has frame damage they just make you sign a tiny part where it states it. They cut off the part from the fax report where it clearly states the frame damage. I don't even know how they're still open and haven't gotten caught by what they are doing. read more

I bought a Toyota Corolla from oc chief auto last week and I am so happy with my purchase! Sure there is a couple scratches but other than that the car is perfect and still under warranty. The price they had is unbeatable! I spent a long time looking for a good car and this is definitely the best for the price. All but maybe 2 of the employees are devoid of personality and often straight-up rude. I had to hound after them for a car for 2 weeks since they'd /never/ call back, only to find out they sold it as-is 24 hours beforehand and never contacted me. The entire time I was under the impression the car wasn't even available for purchase yet. When these reviews say horrible customer service, they mean it. These guys are awesome, professional, upfront. Their car prices are unbelievable but believe it. You're basically getting a "like new" car at "half the price". They are transparent and provide carfax and inspection from Toyota service center. In my case the tires were a worn -- and they put on a new set of tires, without me even haggling. Understand they sell show cars as received, most dealers will cover up things then show the car. They focus on prius, corolla, and occasional Lexus. Single owner lease returns. The people posting negative reviews don't understand anything about anything about anything. Whining because the car they wanted was sold by the time they got there, I'm laughing. I had a wonderful car buying experience at OC Chief Auto from start to finish. They specialize in Prius, so they had the largest selection between Los Angeles and Orange Co that I found online. I found a car right away that I liked and they went with me to have it inspected by a local Toyota dealership. They waited while the car was looked over and even negotiated a better price for the auto inspection. They agreed to fix every minor detail I wanted repaired on the car and I was able to take the car that day and return when it was convenient for me to have the work done. When the auto shop took longer than expected to repair the vehicle, OC Chief Auto paid for my Uber home and back to pick up the vehicle, this was over 30 miles! The inspected the vehicle with me upon pick up to make sure I was completely satisfied with everything. They even re detailed the car. They were extremely polite and professional throughout the entire purchasing process. I would go back to them for another car in the future. Wonderful and caring people!! read more

After a long wait, finally got the chance to ask for the recon information on the vehicle. The main guy that "knows" it all said it's on the carfax. No buddy, it does not have the reconditioning of the vehicle. He couldn't even look at me in the eye. These sleazy sales people hust try to take advantage of unknowing people. Carfax said it was purchased from auction. This guy said it was a lease return. Don't trust these guys or the cars they are selling. They will all most likely have damage on the car fax. Asked him about a money back guarantee. He didn't have one. Asked him how many days until i can return the car if i don't like it. He said 24hrs and a $500 restock fee. Really? What an idiot!!! Zmer helped me find a new car after months of looking! Him and his brother get new cars every week I believe and the deals on them you really can't beat. Granted since they come from auctions there will be one or two things wrong with the car (for example mine had a broken tail light cover) but if you ask most likely he will take off a few bucks for you like he did for me. pure professional experience. Any minor issues were worked out immediately and the only major issue I had was solved so quickly, I didn't even have to stress or worry. The price of the cars I couldn't beat and with bad credit I was able to get what I would call a fair deal for under $300.00 a month in car payments. Paid $14,000 for a fully loaded 2013 Prius IV with 30k miles. The KBB value is $18,000. I shopped around a lot, and with these guys, you'll pay at least $3-4,000 less. According to California law, if the car you're buying is a 2103 or earlier, THE DEALER/seller is required to have the car smog checked before you buy. These guys hadn't done this I my case. They called me AFTER I had purchased the car to tell me it had to be smog checked before the DMV would transfer ownership and send me the plates. Fortunately the car passed, but if it hadn't, it would have become complicated. Their fleet is small, but all their cars are low mileage, newer and excellent condition. I made my choice, gave them $200 to reserve it, went to a nearby credit union, got a cheap loan and cane back for the car. When I got back, 1/2 their fleet had already been sold. read more

I have put off giving a review because I wanted to make sure that my car didn't blow up 3 weeks after I rolled off the lot....I am happy to report that after 8K miles my car is running great. The Brothers make a good team.....I think they sincerely want to do the right thing..... I did not opt to have anyone look at the vehicle before purchase......I'm not sure that was the most intelligent protocol? I got a good vibe from these guys, so I threw caution to the wind... I'm sure I was not the easiest person for them to deal with, but they put up with me, and my thousand questions, made adjustments to the contract when it did not make sense, and follow through with their promises....They even allowed me to leave my car on their lot until I was able to sell it.....3 weeks later....Even though they did not negotiate price......they offered a great product for a reasonable price....AND they did not gouge me with any hidden, or extra fees that you could expect from most dealerships...I did a fare amount of research before going with these guys.....I did not find anything close in terms of service or price....If I need another car in the future, I would get it from these guys...... read more

Please check the purchase invoice, they have a seal that says we purchased the car knowing there was a structural damage... They will put this seal on top of your signature before giving it to you in an envelope... We found out from Toyota, the car we purchased had an accident, but the dealer had faked the carfax (there was no history after 2013 in the doc provided)... When I called OC CHIEF, they asked me to check the invoice... they said I was aware of it as I signed above the seal... Be very careful with this dealer. They are able to sell it cheap for a reason... read more

I was looking for a car, and I came across OC Chief Auto site, and I found a car that I wanted to test drive. I wanted to talk to someone from OC Chief Auto before making the trip to ensure that the car was still available. I called the numbers that they had on their website. The 949-537-9021 number went straight to voice mail, and would not accept any new messages. Therefore I called the 949-478-0922 number, and it was busy (who gets a busy signal these days?). So I filled out the form online about making a reservation to test drive the auto. I received this canned email: "Thank you for your inquiry. We pride ourselves in the quality of both our vehicle and our customer service. One of our associates will be following up with you shortly to discuss your inquiry and answer any questions you might have. Feel free to contact us at 949-537-9021 or 949-396-9219. We look forward to working with you." Nobody contacted me shortly, so I called the new number in this email, and no one answered the phone. There was no indication that I was calling OC Chief Auto because the message was the canned message stating please leave a message for 949-396-9219. So I tried to contact them the following day. The only difference was that 949-478-0922 number wasn't busy, but no one answered the phone and there was no indication that I was calling OC Chief Auto. So, I took my business someplace else. read more

I got my 2013 RAV4 here drove a little over 50 miles and 2 hours in traffic for this little car. Best deal I had been able to find after over a year of searching. My car was in great condition with low miles. No pressure from the sales team. They did an oil change for me and had the car fax on hand when I went to see the car. I purchased a Prius here about a year and a half ago and thought it was the best car and best place to buy. They were super nice and accommodating with great prices but be careful! (I had even referred friends and family to buy here but boy do I regret that now). After running my own CarFax report (a year and a half later) to sell my vehicle now it turns out there is STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. I referred to my original file from them and they gave me a false clean CarFax report and Auto Check. I have been calling for a week trying to get ahold of them and they have yet to call me back. It sucks to write this since I thought I was so satisfied with my car but I can't believe this!! Do yourself a favor run your own checks on these cars or better yet go somewhere else! Liars... I asked if the car had no scratches or dents or any exterior damages. They told me it's in excellent condition. WRONG!! We made an appointment at 12pm to view the car. They told us 20 min it should be back from detailing. Fast forward 1 hr later they told us it will take additional 3 hours!!! 3 hrs?!?! Wtf... so we go back after 3 hrs and the car is not what it claimed to be. Right side had a poor paint job with lots of air bubbles. What a horrible experience! The first people I met there were pretty nice. I tested 3 vehicles and my final choice is made on a vehicle thanks to the help of a seller. I checked the vehicle and noted deep scratches, bodywork deformation, and a bumper with a light different color tint and poorly adjusted. My choice was made, I was going to the office to make the purchase, suddenly an individual wandering in the parking lot met my gaze. He asks me sternly without introducing himself and without politeness if I have any questions. I didn't know who he was, a salesman, a shady wandering individual. We were a few steps from the vehicle I was about to buy. I told him about my findings on the bodywork. He replied harshly that if I wanted a flawless vehicle I just had to go and buy a new car. I answered him as kindly as possible that we could discuss it. He replied very harshly: No negotiation! I was shocked, I still have the right to ask some questions about a vehicle that I will be using with my children. I left immediately, giving up my purchase. Be very careful with these characters...bought a car which was not an issue but the follow paperwork and dmv notices etc have led to numerous correspondences and now total silence from them. after paying cash for the car we were told that the SD card for the navigation would be sent direct to us from Lexus. THREE WEEKS LATER NO CARD. Then we were told they personally went to an auction company and got the card and personally sent it to us.After receiving the card and installing discovered the card was an incorrect one and have confirmed with Lexus that each SD card is vehicle specific and therefore we have the wrong card and to program and install a new card will cost 400.00. Upon notifying these guys of this problem THEY HAVE GONE SILENT forcing me to seek legal advice. These bozos think AS IS covers them...it doesn't as Navigation was part of the sale (numerous texts from them assuring us the car had Navigation) so they have breached their own sales contract. We paid over 17000 and that's what is at stake, so if you have something pending with them act fast, because we will break the bank. WATCH OUT read more
