    Jerry Fontaine was great during the entire process. I did 99% of the transaction over the phone and text . I knew what I wanted and I knew what to pay for it . That helps a lot when shopping for your 2nd largest purchase you will ever make in your life . Went in and signed docs . The signing process would have only taken about 30-60min but Jerry and were chatting always about life so it took longer lol. But all And all. Great experience!

    I purchased a 2019 BMW 440i hard top convertible from Mike Aziz. Every step from test drive to signing the paperwork was exceptional. I made a few complaints about the car after purchased. Michael A. (The GM) stepped and handled my concerns with expertise and the utmost concern for my safety. Both Mike and Michael were authentic gentlemen. A BIG shout out to all employees at Phillips Auto who assisted me in the purchase and delivery of my BMW. I am glad I purchased my BMW from Phillips Auto. I show up to my appointment 5 minutes early and I have to wait in my car for almost 20 minutes because the advisor I was assigned to was busy with another customer. She finally gets me checked in. She tells me she doesn't have a loaner car for me yet, but here you don't usually have to wait more than 30 minutes for someone to return their loaner. After an hour and a half of waiting, I get a text from her apologizing for the extended wait, and still no loaners have returned yet. I asked her roughly how much longer it would be and she didn't know. After more than 2 hours of waiting, I received another text from her apologizing yet again, saying she's going to change my appointment to a "wait" appointment, and she's asking for my car to be expedited because no other loaner cars have come back yet. This was getting ridiculous. I replied back, telling her that I'm basically stuck waiting because I have no other choice, even though this wasn't what I agreed to. I didn't bring my laptop with me because when I booked the appointment, I was told they can usually get me a loaner car fairly quickly if one isn't available at the time of my appointment. After being stranded for more than 3 hours waiting in their freezing cold waiting room, I asked an employee if he had any updates on my car. The response was, "No. You should check with your service advisor." I watched so many other "wait" customers come and go in the waiting lounge area. So, apparently, waiting for the first 2 hours was nothing but a waste of my time, while all the other "wait" appointments were prioritized over mine. Even though I dressed in layers and brought a protein snack and water, I was still freezing cold from the a/c blasting in the waiting area. I wandered outside and found a random chair on the side of the building. It was warmer outside than inside. I received another text with a link from the technician. I click on it, and it says that additional work is needed on my car. This was alarming, because I had literally just gotten a 60k tune-up on my car at South County Lexus the week before! I watched the video, and the tech doesn't mention any additional work needed. So I'm already upset and in hot water for being forced to wait; now I'm left hanging, not knowing what else is wrong with my car. That's when my advisor calls me and apologized for everything that had gone wrong that day. She said that these things don't normally happen. I told her about how vague the video was, and I'm surprised to see that I need additional work done. She clarified that my back brakes are at 5 mm; it's nothing urgent. She told me that she's just as upset as I am, and that she was out last week sick with food poisoning, and she's very disappointed to return to work and deal with such a mess. I told her that my day is basically ruined and I just needed to leave ASAP. She said my car is almost ready and to give her 10 minutes so it can be washed. Another 40 minutes go by. No call. No text. At this point, I'm almost in tears. I force myself to go back inside to see what the holdup is. Of course, no one knows anything. So I walked over to my advisor's cubicle and asked her where my car was. She told me that her manager is taking care of everything and asked me to return to the waiting lounge, and that her manager would come talk to me. I go sit and wait yet again. Another 20 minutes pass, and no manager comes and talks to me. Instead, my service advisor comes over and tells me my car is finally ready. She looked visibly upset. I told her, "You guys can't keep my car hostage like this." She said that's not what they were doing, and admitted that she just got done yelling "at everyone." Then she goes into how she was out for a week with food poisoning again, mentions how she works on commission, and has a 10-year-old girl at home. I told her that I was sorry she got sick, but was a little confused about why she was telling me these other things. The ultimate insult was when she took only 10% off my bill for all the drama that happened that day. I asked, "Really? Only 10%? That's the best you can do after *everything* that happened today?" She gave me 20% instead. At this point, I was so exhausted, upset, and still freezing cold. I felt dizzy, drained, and my phone was about to die. I finally got to pay, sign, and get into my car and leave. This dealership is an absolute trainwreck on every level. And while I understand that loaner cars aren't guaranteed, employees shouldn't mention that loaners are returned every 30 minutes or so. Because this sets an expectation. And if that were the case, then roughly 7-8 loaner cars would have returned in the 4+ hours I was forced to wait. But not even one was returned.

The team seemed green in their roles, as if they've had little to no prior customer service experience. It was all very amateur--interactions were handled more through ego than professionalism. This location falls far short of what you would expect from a luxury brand. I was told my car would be ready at 3 PM. Because of traffic, I called about five minutes before 6 PM to let them know I was literally one light away--and I had already been told they would wait for me. The girl who answered the phone was completely unhelpful. She kept saying, "I don't know," when I asked if she could let service know I was right around the corner. I literally said, "Well, that's why I'm calling you--can you check? Can you walk over and let them know I'm almost there?" She made zero effort to help. No checking, no communication, nothing. Just sorry I don't know who's over there. Defeats the purpose of her simple task of even answering the phone. Then I pull up just a couple minutes after my call - and I see one of their staff rushing to store my car away after already driving an hour in traffic they couldn't even spare 2 minutes past the clock for their customers... really speaks to their work ethic at this location. Inside wasn't any better. The cashier asked if I had been told my car was ready--meanwhile, my car was right outside and the key had just been handed to her. I even showed her the text messages. No paperwork ready, no coordination, communication, or accountability. Anyway I picked up my car- this is the 2nd time I'm met with this service here nothing new. I been to Audi and Mercedes dealerships and I see a clear difference in both those brands. BMW customer service seems to have fallen a long way or perhaps it's just branch.

I've leased multiple Land Rovers over the years -- from Mission Viejo, San Diego, and eventually Newport Beach when John Pham and Robb Bennett completely changed my mind back in 2019 on my white Velar. That experience was incredible. But then came the service nightmare in 2021 that had me swearing I'd never come back. I was done. I was actively shopping a Porsche Cayenne and was literally on my way to the Porsche dealership when Jason's email came through with a full lease breakdown -- drive-off options, term lengths, money factor, everything laid out transparently. I turned my car around. That is not an exaggeration. His pricing and total honesty stopped me mid-drive and put me back at square one deciding between two cars. That's the kind of impact a truly great salesperson has -- not by pushing, but by earning trust. Jason has been hands down the most responsive and helpful sales professional I've worked with across every Range Rover dealership in Southern California -- and I've talked to many. He follows up without being overbearing, respects your timeline, and never once made me feel pressured. When I told him I was headed to Mammoth for a ski weekend and needed time to think, he didn't push. He gave me space while still being available when I had questions. That balance is so rare. What I love most about Jason is his transparency. He proactively sent over the full deal structure with multiple options so I could compare and make an educated decision on what was best for me. No games, no hidden fees popping up later, no "let me go talk to my manager" back-and-forth. Just straight-up honesty. I told him directly -- in the five-plus leases I've done with Land Rover, I've never had anyone be this forthcoming with me. It made me feel valued and respected as a buyer, not just another deal to close. Jason genuinely cares about the customer experience, and it shows in every interaction -- every email, every call, every follow-up. He makes you feel like you're his only client. I went out of my way to tell him I wanted to speak with his manager and leave this review because people like Jason deserve to be recognized. This dealership clearly has something special when it comes to its people. John Pham made it easy to do business here in 2019, and now Jason is carrying that same torch with the same customer-first energy. If you're shopping a Range Rover, do yourself a favor and ask for Jason Villarreal.     RUN do not walk from Land Rover Newport Beach…read more Inquired on a prior loaner LR Discovery. With current CA Vehicle Code and FTC regulations, dealers are required to list all fees and forced add ons online to promote transparency. LR Newport lists nothing other than a standard $85 doc fee, and even promotes "Transparent price, No hidden fees" Online. That is until you reach out. Salesperson claimed that there was a $1,995 add on for "Stargard" despite being listed nowhere online, but that it is "sold with every vehicle new and used" To further reinforce this, he claimed "I can definitely understand not wanting to pay for an add on, I may be able to help with the cost however, I am not allowed to remove the add-on to sell a vehicle." This is a textbook violation of California Vehicle Code §11713.1. "the advertised total price must include all costs to the purchaser except the specific allowed exclusions: taxes, registration, tire fee, smog/emissions, finance charges, doc fee, and electronic registration/transfer charges." Do not bother trying to get a hold of General Manager Sam Megaly. Does not want to be customer facing, respond to emails, or take any accountability. Avoid LR NB like the plague.

Because of that, I came back for multiple oil changes. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was completely different. I was charged a high price for what should have been a simple oil change and cabin/air filter replacement, and I ended up waiting about two hours for the work to be completed. After talking it through with someone more familiar with car maintenance, it became clear that I was likely overcharged for a job that should have been quicker and more reasonably priced. What made the experience worse was the interaction before my appointment. When I asked for clarification about being told I may need "air," EU laughed at me for asking. I'm neurodivergent and sometimes take things more literally, so I was just trying to confirm whether I was being charged for something that is often free. Instead of explaining, I felt mocked for asking a simple question. Because of this experience, I no longer feel comfortable or confident returning here. I'm sharing this as a caution for other customers--especially women and neurodivergent people--who may not be as familiar with car maintenance and rely on mechanics to be honest, respectful, and transparent.

Fiona was the one who helped me--she was friendly, straightforward, and made the process smooth. Definitely ask for her if you go. One big plus is that they're IRS-registered for the $4,000 used EV rebate, so the rebate process is applied directly at purchase instead of waiting until tax season. That made things much easier and gave me peace of mind. I shopped around a few areas, reached out to a ton, including California Beemers Teslers. They have nice cars but they wanted to charge an additional non-negotiable $3499.00 + tax and license fees, basically taking the rebate, so it didn't make sense for me. With OC Chief Auto, after purchase, they stood by their word and swapped out the worn tires on my car for new ones at no cost. They also mentioned they would help out if I had any issues getting the fog lights repaired under Tesla's warranty--they believe it will be covered, but if not, they said they'd step in. I'll update this review in a few weeks once I've gone through that process and had more time with the car to share how it all turns out. Like with most busy dealerships, calling ahead isn't the best strategy since they don't always pick up (they sell out quickly and are often helping customers in person). My suggestion is to go in person. When you do, they can give you the most up-to-date list of what's available and even let you know about upcoming shipments, since the online inventory isn't always current (though it's a good reference for what they usually carry). So far, the car has been in great condition, runs smoothly, and I feel good about the deal I got. If you're shopping for a used Tesla, I'd recommend checking this place out and asking for Fiona.
