Dr Ansarinia was awesome very kind and friendly and then it went down hill from there..... They did not have me on the correct insurance because they never asked what insurance I had. Charged me $372 for new glasses (using my old frames) and gave me a receipt that no person could really understand. I called the next after checking my insurance and got some back peddling and they finally figured out what my insurance is and it should have only costed me $159 with new frames not that I ever got to choose new ones. Did they offer to refund my card the difference? Nope Did they send me an updated receipt? Nope Did they send my prescription? Nope If you want to get an honest good eye exam I would come here but I would never buy glasses or contacts here because their customer service is horrible. They still owe me $213 and a new pair of glasses that I am so not looking forward to. read more

I have been a patient of OC Eye design for years. I have never had a problem until this last pair of glasses I picked. After a few back and forth interactions, I just have to say that all of the staff at OC Eye Designs are knowledgeable, professional and truly care about their patients. Part of the issue was my fault for waiting so long to address my concerns with the glasses, just not wanting the hassle. But when I finally came forward, they worked with me until I was 100% satisfied...and they never at any time through the process made me feel uncomfortable. So I didn't have the best experience here, but I really feel like it was just one of those things that happen sometimes. The dr I had was really cool and informative. Everyone was really nice. I found the frames I wanted that fit my giant head. And everything was really fast. Paid for my frames then went home. Couple days later I find out the frames that were ordered weren't in stick, and the person who ordered them for me wasnt working there anymore. Like I said, things happen sometimes. The biggest inconvenience was driving out to the place because it's kinda far from me. But I went here because a coworker had great things to say about them. I got a refund. I've been going to the same optometrist for over 10 years, and was very happy with him. But, because of a change in my commute, I needed to try a new doctor. OC Eye Designs Optometry came highly recommended. So, I decided to give them a try. I scheduled my appointment online, which was a smooth and simple process. I arrived at the scheduled time and was greeted by two friendly staff members and, after filing out a few new patient forms, my eye exam was started on time. The modern and clean environment made me comfortable. The initial exam was efficiently run by a helpful and knowledgeable assistant. Immediately after the initial exam I was shown to the doctor's exam room, where I waited for about one minute for the doctor. She was excellent. She answered all of my questions and completed the final exam at a calm, but efficient pace. Next was sizing for, and selection of, new frames and lenses. That process was likewise efficient and pleasant. Unlike so many other doctors' offices, there was no wasted time waiting to meet with the doctor, or anyone else. Such an unexpected and welcome surprise. I don't write many reviews, but I was so thoroughly impressed with OC Eye Designs Optometry that I felt I should share my experience with others. I was in search of a new local Optometrist that would be closer to me on the way home from work and was referred here by a friend. Dr. Ngo conducted my eye exam and I was absolutely satisfied. It was probably the best eye exam I had ever received. Dr Ngo was extremely thorough, very clear and concise when discussing my vision. Prior to visiting Dr Ngo, I had not had an eye exam where I left with more clarity and knowledge regarding my vision. She also provided a few contact samples for me to test out to see which ones felt most comfortable for me. Rather than just assume which contact brand was best for me, she allowed me to experience a few for myself to see what felt best to me. All in all, this was the best eye exam I had received and will definitely return in the future. Also, post exam; the entire front office staff was very helpful helping me find the right frames and fitment. Awful experience here. The people working in the front office are completely inept. They don't know how to handle insurance, orders, basic math and organization skills. I went in expecting to pay $20 only to be told after my exam that I had to pay $150 because they didn't handle my insurance properly. That is over SEVEN times the original cost. I found this Office on Yelp with very good reviews and that's the reason I went there. I do agree with the excellent reviews about Doctor Ansari. My experience with the office and billing has been less than pleasant. I called the office to set an appointment I was asked to email the office my insurance information, I send my vision insurance, I received a call back from the office asking for my medical insurance as well, ok? I send both. I went in, Doctor Ansari took vey good care of me, I was very happy. I paid my co pay all good. After 2 months I received a bill with a balance due, I call the office and was told it was they made a mistake and they will correct it. with in 2 weeks I did receive a bill with $0 monies due and paid in full stamped. Awesome. About 2 months passed, I received another bill with a balance due. Again I called the office and spoke with Maria Rojas, I asked to speak with office manager she informed me that they do not have an office manager. I explained my situation to her and she said she thinks there was a mistake in their customer service, she does not know how this could have happened. I actually have 4 bills all deferent for the same visit. I end up paying the money, I did not want this to go against my credit. Although I liked the doctor vey much I will not be going back and can not recommend this office. No office manager? Don't know what happened? Just doesn't cut it in this day and age. I wasn't seen by Dr. Wald, but by her managing partner. Let me say that I was a first time patient at this office. Read the reviews and decided: why not give this place a shot? I printed out the new patient form beforehand and was ready to go. Waited for about twenty minutes past my exam time before I was even pretested. Why? No clue since there weren't any other patients in the office. The exam however was very thorough and I liked how she took the time to answer all of my questions. I tried on the Acuvue Oasys and the Freshlook Colorblends, two brands I have previously worn before. I proceeded with ordering four boxes, two of each brand. The front desk assured me they would be in by Friday since I was leaving for my trip, which gave them four days for the contacts to come in. When I came back on Friday, nothing was ready. My contacts weren't in the office, the order wasn't even placed yet.... I came back the following Tuesday to pick up my contacts. My Acuvue Oasys boxes were there but my Freshlook lens weren't even the right color. I have to make a fourth trip back to the office ??? Finally came back over the process of another week, and the front desk tried to make it up to me by putting in extra eye solution. I asked for a copy of my prescription because I was getting irritated and saw the receptionist sign in the spot of the doctor's alleged signature. Overall I would give the doctors an A. Front Desk, a D-. It's been a year since my visit, and I am now looking for another office for my next eye examination. read more

Dr.Wald and her staff are exceptional in customer service! I had,( I'm sorry but I can't remember his name) and at least 2 of the staff plus a Rep from LA eye works help me find the perfect glasses! LA Eye Works is a new line at OC Eye Designs! They are fun and really unique! Dr.Wald is amazing, she explains everything to you, what is in each photo of your eyes and how to keep your eyes healthy! I took in three pairs of eyeglasses that required repairs. Renee at OC Eye Designs replaced the nose pad on one pair, and tightened the screws the other: good as new! The third pair of glasses required soldering, which OC Eye Designs was unable to help with, but they referred me to another nearby optometrist who might be able to accommodate. Repairs took about 15 minutes while I waited. After Renee finished, I asked what the bill would be for her time. She said no charge. I asked if I could pay to cover the cost of materials, but she declined. Looks like the business will have to settle for a positive yelp review. I was suitably impressed by the friendliness of the staff at OC Eye Designs that I'm planning to go there for my next pair of glasses. read more

Just left and could not be more pleased! It had been years since my last eye exam so I went here on a recommendation from my coworker. Without knowing what to expect really (other than knowing that they accept our insurance), I walked in only to find a beautiful lobby with a very friendly staff. I was helped right away by Heather who was very kind and helpful. She took a couple of tests and asked a few questions before seeing the optometrist. Dr. Wald walked in a bit later...she was just as wonderful! The whole process was rather quick (or so it seemed). I wasn't stuck in the room or lobby waiting around. I truly appreciated this considering I was on my lunch break. For some reason I misunderstood and thought part of the eye exam would be covered and it wasn't due to my astigmatism. Went in to have two of my sunglasses tightened. I immediately noticed the decor. It's bright, clean and stylish. The woman who helped me was super friendly and even offered suggestions on how to preserve the quality of one of my sunglasses. When she was done I asked how much I owed them and she said no charge! When my Vision Plan switched from EyeMed to VSP I was really disappointed and confronted with the awful task of shifting through independent optometry offices. However, I am happy to report that this is my second year with Dr. Wald and her amazing staff at OC Eye Designs and I am so lucky I found them. Not only do I feel that the eye exams here are more thorough than any I've had at any other optometry office, the staff is so friendly, knowledgeable and fast. They have the latest in technology and carry many brands of designer eye wear. If I need my prescription, Becky will get an e-mail out to you in minutes. The office is clean and modern. I was so pleased with my experience at OC Eye Designs. The shop was right around the corner from my apt, so I decided to stop by when I was in search of a new pair of eyeglasses. The shop is absolutely beautiful inside. Super modern and chic, and sunny and cheerful with lots of windows. I've been going to OC eye designs for about five years now and it has always been an amazing experience. I chose to come here because of the brands they carry, but I'm staying forever because of how efficient and personal they are. I've always gone to Dr. Wald but my husband sees Dr. Ansari. They are both very thorough and informative. My favorite person is Renee though. She has an incredible eye for the right frames. I used to spend hours on end looking for glasses but I can trust Renee to help me and I'm done in 20 minutes. She is always willing to help and even goes out of her way to show me glasses she thinks I'll like without ever making me feel like I'm being obligated to buy. I decided to change my review from my initial one. Yes, I had a not so pleasant experience with a gentlemen who works there; however that being said it was in every way possible rectified. The whole experience was AWESOME, from the sweet and very personable girls in the front, to the exam with my doctor, picking out some kick a$$ Oakley frames with Renee and getting a personal email from the business owner Alissa. The exam was as easy as it could be and extremely informative Dr. No (spelling, but how it sounds) was amazing. She took time to explain things to me and all in all was very sweet and funny. Awesome person. Renee took the time to give me the numerous style names of the Oakleys, so I could research (yeah I am one of those) the frames that would suit my needs and comfort. This was my first visit and I was very impressed. The office is very clean and contemporary. The receptionist is sweet and very friendly, as well as the staff that helped me. Prior to being a patient at OC Eye Designs I had been seeing the same optometrist since I was 16 (I'm 38). I had no desire to change but my previous dr refused to accept my insurance. I'm glad I made the change. Although I live in Irvine and OC Eye Design is in Costa Mesa they're worth the drive. I have found their staff to be helpful and accomodating and the doctors informative and not pushy. I have been a patient of Dr. Wald's since 1999; today my wife and three kids are also patients, even though we live 20 miles away. My dogs would even be patients, but that would be just.. you know, silly. A great family doctor, dentist, accountant, lawyer, dry cleaner... and yes- a great optometrist should be on everyone's list to make your life easier. Dr. Wald and her staff are just amazing- every single time we come in. Long-time staff and new staff members alike all deliver consistent, high-quality service. Dr. Wald offers a very nice assortment of high quality frames and sunglasses- QUALITY- not simply quantity. I only wish that I could order new frames every month! If there was a Zero Star -- I would. Lets start here; #1 - They messed up my prescription and prescribed glasses that were too strong. #2 - They messed up my bill and overcharged me. If my wife wasn't in Medical Billing we would have been suckered into paying. #3 - Number 2 took over 4 months to resolve. #4 - They must have multiple email servers sending out various mail because I've now unsubscribed from 3 different mailing addresses. read more
