We had such a great experience with OC Goldens. Mike, and Desiree were so wonderful to work with. The whole process was so great from beginning to end. You can just tell that they really love their dogs, and of course the pups, and take such great care of them all, from making sure that they all get the best of the best nutrition, vet care, love, and affection, and socialization for the pups before they go to their forever homes. We got our boy from there April 2020, and he's just been a dream come true. He's the most amazing boy! He's smart, funny, healthy, and happy as could be. My wife and I decided we wanted a English crème golden retriever, we googled and found OC Goldens and started talkinG to the owner on or around the summer of 2021. We put a 500.00 deposit down for for a puppy that would be available around March of 2022. In August of 2021 we noticed Mike the owner had posted he had a litter of puppies available to go home in November of 2021 that he acquired from a friend from Kentucky that he was going to help sell. So we reached out to him and he said we could have one of these puppies so we picked her up in November and paid the balance of $3500 totaling $4000. Leading up to this we felt he was being sketchy by saying he needed to wait a few more days to monitor because she was having diarrhea and vomiting. When we showed up there were two puppies that were not from the same litter. We had no choice he had one female and that is what we got. When he sent a video there were 8 puppies. All this was very strange. He gave us papers but we do not know if they were legitimate. We were treated very different than what his website shows for example he did not take a picture with us and the new dog and post it we believe because it was a side deal that he didnt want anyone to know about. That being said we took the dog home and that's when the nightmare begun at about 3 months she started resource guarding/aggression objects at random times we hired two trainers at 3 to 5 months old and it didnt resolve the issue she continued to resource guard/ and be aggressive on a daily basis at 6 months she would lunge at us and bite multiple times we hired another trainer because she was getting worse as she attacked me breaking skin and drawing blood. The last trainer was not successful. My wife was 8 months pregnant. We went to my mothers house one evening for dinner our dog got ahold of some corn on the counter my Mother reached over to grab it so the dog would not choke and our dog violently attacked my mother, myself and my pregnant wife. We spent 5 hours in the ER getting stitches. These were very severe bites and thank god my wife was bit the least. My mother in law contacted Mike the owner to discuss with him about what happened and the only thing he said was why didn't they contact me before this well, the reason is because we continue to hire trainers in hopes to see the behavior improve. At one point the owner, Mike said I can take the dog but not for two more days. We don't know what he was planning on doing with the dog and we didn't wanna give him a dog that was so violent that it could attack him and then come back on us and why would we wait two days to give him the dog when it violently attacked three of us. We had no choice but to put her in quarantine in the shelter we had to pay for that and her euthanize Ation. The only thing like the owner would agree to after arguing with me was pay 500 which covered only part of putting her in the shelter and the euthanize ation. We incurred a loss of $4000 for this dog that didn't even come from his litter. I see that he has many good reviews which is wonderful so either no one ever dealt with this except for us or somebody else did I never put a review I don't know. The least he could've done is reimbursed us for half of what we paid for this dog, this was the most emotionaly draining and traumatic incident that anyone could imagine.. Thank God the dog didn't attack my wife being pregnant and kill our baby. read more
