Cascade Veterinary Hospital saw my dog quickly, thoroughly diagnosed him, and got us on our way within a little over an hour. Every employee from front desk to the vet herself was kind and diligent. Thank you!

Thank you Dr Im at Cascade Veterinary...I decided as a Senior with Cancer that I would only adopt Senior cats no one wants and give them love the deserve. I've only had 15 yr Mabel 6 months and was sick. Friend referred me here and Dr Im and staff gave excellent service and options. I'm impressed with this Vet. I'll be back

Our 12 yr old Maltese mix was in some serious pain on this Saturday morning, after calling two different vets in my area I was referred to Cascade Veterinary Referral. While they were very busy, they took us in. I'm very thankful and can tell you everything went smooth with the Covid protocol in place. The vet was quick with his examination and evaluation. We are home resting comfortably and so relieved. Thank you, to all the supporting staff and Dr. Ben Im. Monte & Tamara Ottenbacher (Bug Ann's parents)

When that is no longer the case and tough decisions need to be made, we had an excellent experience with Compassionate Care to say goodbye to our pup. Let me start by saying that every administrative and customer service interaction was timely, clear, and concise. The last thing you want in this situation are delays and confusion. Once I reached out through the contact link on their website, the email response with details about their different services happened within 10 minutes. An intake call to make arrangements for a euthanasia visit at our home was answered by a human and only took a few minutes. They recommend making a reservation 48-hours in advance, but we were put on a wait-list and we moved up our reservation when things opened up. I appreciate that you can reschedule (with four hours advance notice) as well. They have a variety of services, Eco-friendly cremation, and memorial pieces. Everything was arranged in advance, including payment through their web portal, so when the vet arrived for the appointment it was all about our boy and his (and our) comfort. Dr. Wilson clearly walked us through the process, gave us time to say goodbye, provided options, and was a wonderful partner in the process. Cremation is done at a facility in N. Portland, but they have the option of picking up the cremains in Oregon City which was more convenient for us. Having gone through this experience with another pet where we took them to the vet's office, I would highly recommend this option for the pet's comfort. It just felt better saying goodbye in a familiar space surrounded by love.

And an even longer two or three weeks before that fighting to get him to eat. Like others here, Kevin was closer to me than my human family. I was busy with the doctors in ER so my partner called in to make the appointment to ease my stress. He said I was primary contact, but it was difficult to make that clear all the way until the day so communications were continually going to him. Not a big deal in the overall picture, but it didn't make the experience any easier. This was my cat for 8 years before I met my partner and while he loved my baby, I was the one with the lifelong bond. The doctor showed up within the time window allotted. We both found her a little cold. I felt like we were just a job and everything was done by number. My BF picked up my cat and carried him to me, but the doctor said we should do paperwork first which resulted in me putting him down after building up to do what I deemed impossible. I was emotional and crying. This really should somehow be handled before the visit. There were corrections to be made on the form. I was about to lose my baby and this only made me aware that I was filling out his death warrant. I am utterly heartbroken. I know holding your baby until the last minute is catharsis and closure, but I found it traumatizing. His passing was peaceful at least. Everyone's goodbye will be unique, and my example will not necessarily match what others experience. Everyone we spoke to was professional. I just wasn't feeling the compassion.

We searched online and found that Emergency Vet of Tualatin was open 24 hours. We took her there and all the staff were warm and welcoming during this stressful time. They were able to get her in to see a vet right away. We appreciate the speediness of their efforts. Unfortunately it was determined the our dog had a stroke and lost almost all mobility in her hind legs. This was a very difficult decision to make and the vet was patient and kind during the whole interaction. We chose a private cremation and paw print. When we saw the beautiful wooden box her ashes were put in it made a somber moment a little easier. I called to mention that we wanted her collar with her name tag to keep. They were able to track it down and made sure we got it. The paw print was done well and the quality was great. It was thoughtful of the clinic to send us a card as well about their condolences.

If you're not the only patient of course most critical goes 1st as it should be & there has never been a long wait time. Even at end-of-life for our beloved Maximus. The Dr spent quite a while with us, gave us Al the time we needed & THEY were GREAT & did a WONDERFUL presentation of HIS ashes in a most BEAUTIFUL wooden box & footprint afterwards. Something I didn't realize was they let our primary vet know that Maximus had passed. We hadn't even thought of it yet being he hadn't been there in a bit because of complications & it was exceptionally nice to receive a condolences card from his vet in the mail. Just another really good thing EVCOT does for their patients. THANK YOU for all the things you guys did to help get Maximus almost to his 12th birthday

Dr. Ghitea's veterinary services were always excellent and reasonable. I always walked away feeling that my animals were well taken care of without it costing me a bundle. One time, Dr. Ghitea pulled some rotten teeth from my dog without even charging me. He took excellent care of my Samantha (cat) over the years, and I believe she made it to 20 as the result of his care. When my beautiful Samantha was on her last days, Dr. Ghitea comforted me and told me the truth that it would not be long saving me from spending money that wouldn't prolong her life any longer. Sadly, Samantha passed away about a week later in my arms although she had a wonderful life. I moved to No. Idaho this past year and will greatly miss Dr. Ghitea and his staff along with the memorable conversations that we had over the years. Today was brutal. We…read morefirst came here because two people we know and love have used them and had amazing things to say. Our dog has a possible bowel obstruction, so we were told to take her to the emergency room. We arrived around 1:50 p.m. When we came in, we were greeted and put into a room within a couple of minutes. Someone came in, examined our dog, talked with us for a few minutes, and then explained that she wasn't in critical condition. They told us there were several pets in critical condition ahead of her, which we completely understood. She gave us a few options for waiting because it was going to be about a two-hour wait. Since we don't live in this city--we live in Oregon City--we decided to go to a nearby dog park. Traffic was starting to pick up, and getting back across I-205 later would be difficult if we left and returned. They told us they would call when they were ready to see her, so we headed to the dog park. Around the two-hour mark, traffic was starting to die down, so I called to see if they needed us to stay nearby or if we could head home and wait there. The woman on the phone told us we were fine to go home and that they would call when the doctor was ready to see our dog. We were happy with that plan. It was a very hot day, and even with air conditioning, a black car gets hot. We headed home around 4:50 p.m. At 8:25 p.m., I received a call. The woman said, "Hi, this is ______. The doctor is ready to see your dog now. How long until you can be here?" I explained that our son was getting ready for bed and that we lived in Oregon City, but we could be there in about 30-35 minutes. She said, "Great," and we headed that way. We actually arrived just 21 minutes after receiving the call. We were taken to a room and told the doctor would be right in. Fast forward over an hour--not one person came in to speak with us. Nobody checked on us. Nobody popped their head in to let us know they were running behind or that something more urgent had come up. There was absolutely no communication. Honestly, that was the worst part. By this point, it was 9:50 p.m., and we hadn't even been checked on. We were exhausted. I stepped out into the waiting area and found nobody there except another patient sitting in the lobby on their phone. Both receptionists were gone, so we got up and left. This makes me incredibly sad because our dog is our baby. The service was so poor that I can't even explain how frustrating it was to drive all that way, after being specifically called in, only to be completely ignored and receive no communication. The worst part came after we left. As soon as I got home, I called to let them know we were no longer there. The woman on the phone said, and I quote, "Oh yeah, you're waiting at home. We have that on file." I replied, "No, we were already at home. You called us, told us to come in because the doctor was ready to see her, and then nobody spoke to us for over an hour after we arrived." It was awkward because it seemed like she didn't even know we had been sitting there waiting at the clinic. For anyone reading this: if you think your pet is having an emergency but they are not in immediate, life-threatening condition, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else.
